I've missed this place during winter! I love that most if not all products here are local, way to support it right? It's a close drive to my house & usually stuffs are cheaper compared to stores. There stuff are also fresh! I usually buy fruits! It's great to buy in bulk too! And oh, I'm hooked to goat milk! They have the yummiest one! They usually post on facebook there special so you need to be in a look out! Also they have a $1 bag where they stuff different kind of fruits or veggies that are still good but you can still make a use out of it like that day hah & if you get to pick out first you probably get the nice ones.

I am surprised no one has reviewed this fruit & vegetable stand before now. Been waiting all winter for them to open as a client told me about them last year. It's a pretty good sized 'stand' and there were two young men and an older chap, Mel, working during my visit. I took advantage of Mel's experience and asked him a lot of questions about what they sold, where it was from and the most important question, 'How in the heck do you pick a good melon?' The guy is a wealth of information and he doesn't mind sharing it. The stand is located on the south side of the highway, between Linder Rd and Eagle Rd. Parking area is not that big - I'd think on the weekends it might get full and you will have to park along the shoulder of the highway. We bought asparagus, cantalope (Mel picked it for us), oranges, honeycrisp apples and mango jam. I was going nuts not being able to find mango jam since moving to ID. They sell local pies by Penny - haven't tried one, yet. Also saw bread and honey, too. There's one item that I specifically wanted from this stand, but (not gonna lie) not going to name it as the competition could get tough. The quality of fruit and vegetables looked good and I intend to keep coming back during this year's season. One thing I absolutely looked forward to in moving to southern Idaho is the fresh produce. So happy the season is here!

I have been coming here for a couple of years and thought that it's wonderful to have a farm stand so close to where we leave. The prices of the goods, although high to me is reasonable because I know how competitive it is out there and quite hard for small business to turn a profit. That said, I think if they can't compete with the prices then I believe they must go out of their way to be friendly and exhibit excellent customer service. I happened to passed by the store today and turned around because I saw that the box peaches are now available. I parked and picked a box of peaches from the middle rack after inquiring how much they are which was $38.99. When I brought my box to pay an older man sorting the vegetables with glasses commented that the box I picked seemed too full and asked where I picked them up. I then pointed at the row of peaches to which he replied he was surprised that I could even get the boxes out from the second shelf insinuating that I somehow put more peaches on top of the box that I picked. On closer look all the boxes are bursting with peaches. I said I'm happy to pick another box. He stormed off inside and I simply smiled and paid cash and took my box. I daresay as much as I love to support local business I don't believe I will be coming back. It's a shame really but this one experience put such a sour taste in my mouth. Maybe he was having a bad day, but surely to run a successful business you must put aside your emotion and go about being a nice person to those who pay good money so you can in turn put food in your stomach. I overlooked the dilapidated building, the endless exposure of produce to harmful chemical from cars whizzing by, the high prices but I draw the line on customer service. If you are treated kindly the prices and conditions sometimes can be overlooked. Now my eyes are opened. Guess I'm back to Whole Foods. At least they don't harass me and they are a lot nicer. Plus they have fresher fruits and vegetables and more selection.

When I lasted visited I was looking for French holiday chocolates. Obviously, I didn't find any. More specifically, the French holiday chocolates are called Papillotes. Papillotes are wrapped like little presents and have decorative ribbons and tassles at the end. We did find similar chocolates in the bins by the meats and cheese. Those chocolates were good not as good as French or Belgium chocolates but its as close as we're going to find in the Boise area. We have not purchased any other items but perhaps when my Mom is back in March, we'll purchase some Mortadella for her to try. If you're looking for Eastern European grocery items, then this location is for you.

The employee who served us stated that it had been prepared that day and identified it as flounder. When we returned home, we shared the fish with our entire family, including a child. We ate only about one-third of it. By the next morning, everyone became ill, experiencing fever, chills, bloating, and diarrhea. We could not eat anything the following day except water and bananas. This was a very unpleasant experience, and we are concerned that the fish may have been expired, improperly stored, or undercooked. Upon closer inspection, the actual piece of fish appeared to be very small, while most of the surrounding coating had a grayish color and a spongy, sticky, and undercooked texture. It almost seemed as though additional filler had been used to increase the product's weight. The taste was not fresh at all, and it had an odor similar to an old fish tank. The fish seemed old and may have been stored in the freezer for an extended period of time. The surrounding substance resembled soggy breading or undercooked batter. Overall, something seemed very wrong with the product. Customers should be especially cautious when purchasing this type of food for their children.We had to throw the food away, resulting in a complete waste of money. This situation appears to have been caused by poor judgment or unprofessional handling of the product, which is very disappointing from a customer standpoint.
