They called two hours before the appointment and canceled. I called wagging tails and they had me bring her in within 30 minutes. I am MORE than please with how expedient I was helped LAST MINUTE on a Saturday, how friendly they were, the quality of the haircut and deshedding AND the speed. . .BUT the best part was the price. Unfortunately our Yorkie was shaved much too short and came home with a wound on her neck and several razor burns on stomach and under tail. We stressed at drop off to not shave too close due to her sensitive skin. I'm very disappointed and hoping this doesn't turn into a larger vet bill. I will not be returning. See picture. read more

Do not go here. Dropped our puppy off at 11am. They say it won't take long. She isn't done until 3:30... should not take that long. What is the point of the appt then? Also, we asked for just a shorter version of her fluffier cut. They shaved her. Completely! She is so sore around her privates as well. Looks raw from the razor! They also put bows in her hair that looked cute at first, but then as she was trying to get them off I realized they were super glued onto her fur! I had to cut them out! Poor thing! read more

Ever since I found out about this place, I haven't taken my dog to any other grooming place! It's a little hard to hear the ladies on the phone when making an appointment, but they have always squeezed me in last minute if I needed it. The ladies there are so sweet and nice. Since I wash my dog ahead of time, it takes about 4 hours for him to be fully groomed for about $30. That is a great, affordable price! Sometimes the ladies there will let the small dogs roam around, sometimes the dogs are in kennels. Whenever my dog leaves, he is always panting and excited as if he just left the dog park. At the end of the visit, the ladies will ask if you would like to have perfume on your dog - I usually opt out of this. Lastly, they usually give the dogs a handmade tie or bow tie, which is super charming! Couldn't recommend this place enough! read more

The reason I'm giving three stars is because they glued a ribbon onto my dogs head! The previous time I came here they put a ribbon around her neck but when I tried to take the ribbon off of her head it was stuck! She was yelping and crying at me because it hurt to take off! I've come here every time that my dog or my boyfriends dog needs grooming and they have glued the ribbons on their heads once each.. When my Australian Shepard last went in for her grooming when we took the ribbons off it left BALD SPOTS on her head!! If you come here, request for them to NOT put the ribbons on your dogs head because their painful to take off and rip your dogs hair OUT. ----- I'm officially done going to this salon for my dogs. They did a good job previously on my Australian Sheppard and this time they were INSANE. So I scheduled an appointment and when I went inside the women who I believe owns the store was so rude to me! I don't know my hair terms so I told her "I want her hair to be trimmed how you usually do it but make it a little shorter than usual." She snapped at me saying "No, that will look awful. She will look choppy and it's just going to look bad." So I said "okay.. well I just want it cut shorter than usual " (I've been here 5 times previously so I thought they knew how short to cut it since she's an Australian Sheppard and has very long hair) So she points at my dogs head and asks if I want it that short which is verrrry short and if she cut it that short then the sun would burn her skin because Australian Sheppard's have extremely sensitive skin. So I tell her "No.. I want it longer than that." So she said "So you just want a haircut." Yes just a haircut and I just go on with my day. 4 hours later I finally get a call saying she's done! I go to pick her up and I see her and I don't even recognize her. They had her for 4 hours and it looks like all they did was give her a buzz cut!! Her hair still looked horrible because they missed so many spots and she still had long hairs around her and they started buzzing up the side of her face which looks so bad. She sat there telling me this is what I asked for and it was not! I said I wanted it A LITTLE shorter than how she usually does it but she just buzzed all of my dogs hair and didn't even care that I was unhappy! I refused to pay the entire $60 for her cut so I gave her $40 and she had the nerve to stand there and ask if I'm going to tip. NO? Why would I tip for a groomer that is so unprofessional. I shouldn't have given her anything at all but I felt that wasn't right since they did cut her nails and give her a bath. But still, I'm so unhappy and I'm taking my business elsewhere. read more

Very pleased with my dog's cut! He was ready in less than 2 hours and didn't want to leave when I picked him up. Dogs were free to roam when it's not their turn for grooming which works well for us because he isn't kennel-trained and is very social. It was only $35 for the cut, which is cheaper than other places we've been. We will defiantly be back! read more

Very please with my first experience. They agreed to a walk in and we're very timely. One hour and she had the full treatment including her nails and under her paws. They let her play with the other dogs on the floor and didn't crate her, which was important to me since my dog gets very nervous. They called me a soon as she was done. gave me the option for perfume which I didn't take.They did a wonderful job as well! I'll definitely return. She's a Tibetan terrier and has a complicated cut. After moving to KC almost 2 years ago, I found myself in need of a groomer for my Mini Schnauzer. We had been going to the same groomer in the Chicago area for over 5 years, and it took forever to find one that I trusted. After 2 missteps with other places, I found Wagging Tails, which happens to be about 4 blocks from my apartment. Convenience aside, the people here are really nice. They had me fill out a 'fact sheet' at my first visit, with emergency contact numbers and other people authorized to pick up my puppers (helpful, I guess, if I got hit by a car in the parking lot). The dog always looks great when I pick her up. I've never found nicks on her skin (like I have after visits to other places) and they seem to have a good way with the dogs I see there. The only complaints that I have are things that I can resolve myself. My dog has super sensitive skin, and going forward, I'll be bringing the dog shampoo that I use at home. Also, I'll be asking them not to give her any treats while she's there. My poor dog always smells like she's rotting for about 2 days after I bring her home. Otherwise, the people are great. They always do what I ask, and can take appointments on relatively short notice. Not sure how they would do with larger breeds (I seem to only see 30lbs and under in there), but it never hurts to ask. read more

*EDIT* Since my first review we have taken our now almost 9 month old poodle puppy (that is a handful to boot) here for her grooming. They have done a fantastic job with her every time- she is always beautiful when she is done and no knicks or stress type of behavior. WE ARE SUPER FANS NOW. :) I have had poodles my entire life- so I have had a couple of groomers as well. I took my poodle puppy to another groomer in the northland that I had used for a few years with my last poodle. It went realy bad real quick...so I knew I had to find a new groomer. A family friend uses this groomer so I called and we decided to bring my puppy over for a getting to know you kind of session. She seems to have had a blast! They also cleaned up her face and fanny (sanitary shave) while she was visiting. I am happy to have found a place that cares for the animals as much as we owners do! They also seem to care about our time as owners. Can't wait until my little one is old enough to get a full groom there. After she gets a full groom I will most likely change my review and I am guessing it will be all 5 stars then! read more

I loved this business. They cut my Maltese as I had requested. I dropped her off and picked her up three hours later. It is a small shop, without a high end look, but that doesn't affect the great job they do. My dog was very calm when I picked her up. They were $20.00 cheaper, for the same service I received at Petsmart. It is 15 minutes north of my neighborhood, but it can take longer than that just to drive to South Overland Park. I will definitely be taking my dog back again. read more
