Highly recommend doing those classes because while it's great that they help socialize the puppies and keep training consistent, let's be honest, it's better just to watch a pile of puppies roll around playing with each other! Our most recent trip was to get him fixed and after reading way too much about it, I can safely say they do the procedure the right way. IV monitoring, just the right amount of anesthesia with a blood test beforehand to ensure safety before putting them under, a fancy new cone of shame when they leave... the works. They also had the doc come out and talk with me afterwards to explain the recovery and answer any questions. If you're near the Plaza/Midtown or the NE Johnson County area, this is a highly convenient, quality vet.

This would a charge on top of any exam or grooming fee. With a 3 week lead time, I would hate to have a pet that needed urgent care. They probably won't try to work you in, even though you're an established patient. Yes, there may be 24/7 vet facilities but when you have an established relationship with a vet who knows your pets, that's where you want to go first.

I am heartbroken by the decline and know that many of my local friends have also expressed concern over it. All the staff who used to work there left soon after the new management took over a few years back. It's become so much worse recently in my opinion, especially the last couple of times I've boarded my dog. First off, you are blasted by a strong urine smell when walking in the front door, which it never had before. After that, I was told by the front desk attendant that my dog peed her bed the night before. She then brought me all of her stuff, including the soaked pee filled bed in a trash bag that reeked 1. My dog has NEVER peed on anything in the house, for the 10 years I've had her, no matter how long I've left her. NEVER, not even after 12 hours! 2. It definitely smelled like more than one accident the night before. I asked the front desk attendant what happened with her the rest of the time and was told curtly that she guessed it was fine since she had no other notes on her. She also said that she only handled the front desk and never offered to get anyone to talk to me about it, even after I said that she had never peed on anything in the house, ever. I regret not asking her to get anyone else, but wanted to get myself and my dog out of there ASAP as the smell was only getting worse. Finally, she brought out my 11 year old pitbull-boxer mix who looked really unhappy. She just seemed like a different dog the rest of the evening and through the next couple of days. Not the normal, so exhausted she only wants to sleep, but more like she was not happy. I noticed when I unpacked her belongings that they didn't follow all of the instructions by what was sent back home. She didn't get her lunches most days or her bedtime snack every day I was gone. The longer I've been away from the situation, the more frustrated I've become wondering what happened to my poor girl while I was out of town. I will NEVER be bringing my dog back to Pooches Paradise! I also know quite a few neighborhood friends who have also stopped using Pooches Paradise in the last couple of years. Sadly not the place it used to be.

K9 Resorts was very highly rated, and fairly close to our house. Every time my dog comes home from daycare he is exhausted. The second time I brought him in, he got so excited as soon as he recognized the place. All of the staff are incredibly friendly. They clearly care about him, and he absolutely loves going there. I love that they have different levels of rooms, depending on what your dog needs or you want. I prefer to do the completely private room, even though my dog is small, to lessen the external noises he has to hear. Around Halloween they had "trick or treat" bags for the dogs by the front desk. This place is amazing, and I highly recommend it!

Dr Miller was able to see him on an urgent-care basis the day we brought him in, and after talking with us about the options, agreed that we could bring him home for one last night of care and love in a familiar environment. When we called the next morning, Debbie was able to give us an appointment within the hour to bring him in for euthanizing. Both Debbie and Dr Stewart were SO kind, and SO gentle, ensuring that they handled Harry as painlessly as possible, and giving him an injection to completely relax him before giving him the lethal injection. We were able to be with him the entire time, and petted him and told him what a good kitty he was, and that meant a lot to us. Many, MANY thanks to everyone at Rockhill for taking such superb care of not only our pets but their owners as well. We are SO grateful for all of you!

She LOVES going to Gia's and goes crazy when we ask her if she's ready for her spa day. They always take such great care of her and even allowed my wife to come pick her up on her lunch breaks when she had an office job. The deshedding works so well and they do a great job with her nails (which are next to impossible to do at home --with a Dremel tool) because most of her quicks are black. Last year, we adopted a border collie/Australian cattle dog mix. He is kinda shy at times and initially had problems even going into Gia's. She and her staff were so accommodating and they had us just do a few visits to the front so that he could get used to the sights and smells (and of course he was rewarded with plenty of treats)! One he was used to the inside, they slowly started working him in at the end of the day (or when there was a gap between clients) so he wouldn't have to stay in the kennel due to his anxiety. He's gotten so much better... and while he still can't get the full services our other dog does, he's done so much better and can now get a bath and his nails trimmed. They have been so great working with him! Gia's also has the best products. From food, treats, toys, and accessories, they are all vetted by Gia herself. If you buy something there, you can bet it's one the safest and best products around. Everyone in the shop is fantastic. Highly recommend!
