Cindy literally saved my dogs life. After him not eating, drinking, and going to puke town for a couple days, I took him in. Lots of tests, panels, etc were done and finally surgery was determined to be needed if we wanted to find out if something was blocking his intestines. Turns out he had a corn cob stuck in there and had to have it removed. It was such a scary and worrisome time and I was preparing myself to lose my fur son. However, he recovered! He even got to come home a day early...he was there for about 4 days I believe. Cindy and the entire staff kept me constantly informed, never making a decision without notifying me and giving me ALL available options. This place actually cares about their animals and aren't looking to push sales on you for money. Every time I come there, they always are happy to see the fur babies and just love to give them all the affection and care as if it was their own. I tell everyone to come here...I mean I moved also 30+ minutes away and will still only come here. Thank you for all you do! read more

Green Summit Animal Clinic - Bringing the baby home...he almost looked sad to leave! - Veterinarians Near Me - Lee's Summit, Missouri

I was satisfied with this Vet for a few years because we usually see a regular Vet for my animals. This was until they just changed Vets without our knowledge. My dog fell off the bed and wasn't walking on his hind legs is why we rushed him to Green Summit. Instead of putting my dog on a stretcher they made my husband walk him into their facility. He was wobbly and fell twice on the hard floor before my husband picked him up and they put them in a room. When we called we informed them of our dogs condition and he couldn't put any pressure on his hind legs. He should have been put on a stretcher from the car to get seen. So the new vet came in (a Man with tats on his head) and they misdiagnosed him with an ACL injury and sent us home with steroids and pain pills. No Xray or tests were done. By that night our dog was completely paralyzed from the chest down. We took him to another vet and they said he definitely had a spinal cord injury. which should have been correctly diagnosed from the beginning. After a week of my doggy paralyzed he was no longer urinating, we called around town to see if we could get him in to release his bladder, and Green Summit was the ONLY one who could get him in. So again we took our dog to this vet. The same vet came in but this time not as a man, but as a woman in a wig and a stuffed bra on. He gave us the most vague answers on what we needed to do, so he referred us to an emergency vet. A $400 bill for them to recommend him to a different vet. We got to the emergency vet and after an hour they came in with horrible news, Diesel couldn't be fixed and was living in pain...we had to put my 6 year old guy to sleep. WHY DID YOU HAVE MY DOG EVEN ATTEMPT TO WALK INTO YOUR FACILITY??? We told you over the phone he had no movement in his back legs. I know he was probably wasn't able to be fixed, but with the right diagnosis maybe he wouldn't have suffered for a whole week read more

We've had a rough last month with our oldest dog (she's over 16!). She got bit by another dog and took extra time to recover. Over a month, we were making daily trips to Green Summit, then every other day, then a weekly visit while we waited for one of her puncture marks to close. Every vet that helped us was so thorough and so kind. Our dog also has Cushing's (which was diagnosed by Dr. Sbisa in 2020) and we wouldn't even consider going someplace else because they know her well and treat her well! I'm so tremendously thankful for Dr. Sirna, Dr, Sbisa, and Dr. Schaeffer- they all had a hand in helping my Winnie get better! read more

Boarding services occurred a week ago. I called to verify if bones are allowed while boarded. They confirmed 'yes'. During the check-in, I made it clear verbally and written his bone is to be provided for stress and boredom. They agreed and the bone was new. Upon pickup, the bone was in same condition. They did not allow for him to have his bone. The clinic does not follow directions very well. Do not bored here. read more

Pls be aware before you board your beloved pets here! In boarding, they do NOT have someone there monitoring them on a consistent basis, especially on the weekends. A worker comes in twice a day on the weekends for feedings and short walks. Apart from that, all pets are basically left alone in cages to cry, pee, poop, howl all night by themselves. If your dog needs special care, DO NOT board them here. We lost our 16yo dog because of making this fatal decision and NOT being THOROUGHLY informed of the kind of care that our beloved dog was going to receive while we were gone nor did we get any urgent calls of his declining condition while we were gone. Background: We took our 16yo dog who had special senior needs to be seen. He was on his last days and he definitely had special needs, needed constant supervision and could not be left alone. We appreciated the care and meds that Dr. Rivera prescribed to him during his last days to help ease some of his discomfort and actually helped improve some of his pre-existing ailments. When we recently had to go out of town we brought our dog in for an evaluation to see if he could be boarded there. Dr. Rivera and the team evaluated and approved of him being boarded there as long as he got all his shots up to date along with his Rabies shot. We felt, if the vet here believed that it would be a safe place for our dog to stay for a couple of nights, then we can trust that. We asked the front desk team, "are the dogs left alone and/or what is the boarding experience like?" A large white man at the front desk mentioned, no they're never truly alone. When I mentioned that we needed to leave our dog for a night on the weekend, they never mentioned that on the weekends no one is there except for one kennel worker who comes in twice a day for feedings/walks. THATS IT. No one offered us thorough information, they rushed us through the process. Their lack of care and lack of providing a thorough explanation of what the dogs experiences would look like while being boarded led to the suffering of our beloved family member. In our mind, we were thinking that the best place to board your dog would be at his/her vet clinic, right? Wrong. Not here at Green Summit. They will just stick your dog in a small cage while a kennel worker comes in twice a day to provide food and a short walk then stick him right back in that cage to be left alone overnight to cry, struggle, defecate and urinate on himself. If we knew that this facility could not provide the special care that our dog needed while he was boarded, then we would have NOT boarded him here and would have chosen something more specialized or different. But, it seems like dogs here are just a number. Our experience was so shocking to us. We've never experienced such unprofessional and irresponsible service from a vet clinic before. When we were gone on the weekend, we did not get any phone calls, updates, pictures, nor any type of communication from the vet/clinic/kennel worker that our dog was declining rapidly on Sat and Sunday. We received one phone call on Monday afternoon by his vet saying that he was refusing to eat and was lethargic and needed a glucose lab test. We were surprised to get a call this late after being boarded for over 2 nights with no urgent update of his condition. We were under the impression that he was doing well overall all weekend. When we came to pick him up, he wouldnt even walk, eat peanut butter (his favorite), his jaw was completely locked shut, and he looked comatose like he had been suffering severely. So we had to make the difficult decision of euthanizing him. We dropped him off on a Saturday at Green Summit and come back with a severely sick dog that needed to be euthanized on a Monday. Such a severely traumatic experience for us all. Our beloved dogs last days should not have had to experience such suffering and pain and now we want to pursue legal action and make sure that no other animal ever goes through this experience with Green Summit either. read more

I am impressed with the entire staff at Green Summit every time I visit. Their love for animals and compassionate care is obvious in each interaction. In addition to standard puppy shots & care, we've done major surgery and used the boarding service multiple times. We wouldn't dream of trusting Poppy to anyone else! read more

Made an appointment to get staples out. They didn't confirm my text number or anything. And put my appointment down for the wrong time. Now refuse to help. read more

This place is consistently over booking and running late for their appointments. For the cost and as many people are working the front desk, you would think they would be better at getting patients in in a timely manner. read more

I had an appotiment, but still I have to wait 40 minutes for my dog to get a single shot. Also after asking 3 times for a tick and flee medicine; at the moment I called, at check in, and at check out they denied to sell the medicine unless I pay for an extra $55 dollars for an exam. they should informed me of this extra exam at the moment I called. read more

Very VERY disappointed with the staff at green summit. My dog had wounds that needed to be treated immediately, i went there and without even getting an exam they told me i would need to pay 315$ to just get him seen! & then the price would vary from 500-700$ I then went over to Raintree Animal Clinic, & they didn't even charge me ANYTHING until after he was seen. After we left Raintree i only ended up paying 218$ for EXAM TREATMENT AND MEDS. I do not recommend going to Greenwood AT ALL. It seems they are very money hungry. read more

Dr. Church at Green Summit Animal Clinic recently performed dental sugery on my 16 yr old dog Squeakers. Everything went very well with the surgery thanks to Dr. Church. I have always trusted her decisions to make my Squeakers comfortable and Dr. Church has no doubt given my dog extra years of life. Thank You Dr. Church and the staff for your proffessional care given to Squeakers. Roy F. Young read more

This clinic obviously doesn't need new patients. We live very close, so I thought I would try a a different vet. An hour before close they wouldn't see the cat staring 'we close in 45 minutes'. Not, we are full, not you have to have an appointment - we close in 45 minutes. I was literally outside the clinic. Obviously, healing sick pets isn't as big a priority as being sure they don't stay late. read more

Green Summit Animal Clinic is fabulous! My wife and I have 3 rescue dogs currently but started going to them with our, at the time, 10 yr old Husky/German Shephard mix several years ago. They do everything you need on a regular basis: medical care, grooming, boarding and supply sales. We have had some tough decisions to make and Dr. Church and her husband Steve have always been knowledgeable, helpful and compassionate. We completely trust her and the rest of the staff to take care of our four legged kids. We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have found them and could never say enough to express our gratitude for all they have done. read more

I'm new to the area and was in search of a place to board our dog during our vacation. I noticed that several of the pet boarding businesses had negative comments on Yelp. Although Green Summit didn't have many reviews, the reviews were positive. I was impressed from the first phone conversation. It turned out Duke was due for shots, so they arranged for his check up during his stay. He also got a bath. Everyone was courteous, kind and true animal lovers. I'm relieved to have found my new vet, groomer, and pet boarding, all in one location. read more

Couldn't ask for better care for my pets! The entire staff at Green Summit is amazing! I appreciate them going over everything when I drop my pet off and how flexible and accommodating they are. Before finding Green Summit I had an emergency visit with my dog to a Vet Clinic in KC and I felt like they took advantage of me in a desperate situation. We started going to Green Summit a couple years ago and ran into a emergency issues with our cat. Tabitha went over all the pricing and explained everything that Dr Church would be doing and never once did I feel I was being taken advantage of. Our pets are a part of our family and I appreciate the quality care we receive at Green Summit. We also switched over to their dog and cat food as we found out that the expensive stuff I was buying was making our cat sick! I'm buying good food for them and it's cheaper! Thanks again for the care you provide!!! read more

I have had cats for over 50 years, and I currently have 12 rescues. The Green Summit vets, staff and techs are the absolute best that I have ever worked with. Their knowledge is second to none, but their bedside manner with my cats is absolutely unparalleled. From new kittens getting fixed, to routine checkups, illnesses, and when they have to cross the rainbow bridge, they are compassionate and caring. I cannot recommend Dr Church, Dr Nelson and the entire staff highly enough. read more
