My first Waffle House experience! I'm not joking when I say I had this place on my radar for a very long time. After going to Dick's over in Friendswood, I saw signs nearby for Waffle House, so I had no reason not to go. Parking lot was empty, and I thought they were closed at first but once I entered, there was three staff members and a couple at a booth. Crystal greeted me and I checked out the menu, deciding on a classic waffle and hash browns. Food was brought over within ten minutes, and I dug in. Waffle was what you would expect (good), and the hash browns were flavorful. You're getting the basics here, and they do them well. I don't do syrup but I emptied out the butter they provided. I didn't end up finishing the waffle but this left me pleasantly full. As I looked around, this place filled up since I walked in; every booth was full now and the counter had another person down the way. Chance checked me out and he was really nice as well. My total was $8.25 which surprised me since I don't know anywhere anymore that has such inexpensive prices. He also pointed out it doesn't usually get so busy mid-week as it did on this day. What made me smile was that this was the first place where I actually heard southern accents so I really felt I was in TX. I hate to say that the only time I really ever heard of a Waffle House was due to an epic fight that happened at one of their locations, but thankfully, no fights today, food was enjoyable, staff was great! read more

Thankfully it was warm inside. I distinctly ordered the All Star bacon, 3eggs instead of two with hash browns, over medium. That part of the breakfast was very good. I wiped the plate clean. As I was eating, I noticed the waffle hadn't been served. I asked for the waffle, the waitress apologized, said I thought you wanted the two egg breakfast. This waffle is not like any other that I've had at all the Waggle House's I've been. This one was dense and flat. I love me some Waffle House, it's 24 hours, the food is good and cheap and they have coffee! Haha I got a blueberry waffle, it wasn't very appealing but it was good and had good blueberry flavor. The menu was misleading though it said blueberry compote and This definitely wasn't compote. Maybe dried blueberries. Coffee was good and our egg plate were good and made right. Business has yet to rebound; in part, due to continued construction. Great staff. Many have been there for many years. Food's good. Our fave WF in the area. I came with my fam of 4, me my sister and parent, and was shocked and relieved to see no one in there, but it was shocking because once we sat down we were immediately greeted by some of the nicest servers I've ever met, the were not only hilarious, but also so welcoming. They are also super fun! As soon as their Coworker Rosa came in the starting singing for her! The ambiance was very calm and bright with the many windows. Don't even get me started on the food, I ordered pecan pancakes and hashbrowns, I got plentyful portione of hashbrowns and a very big waffle filled with pecans, it tasted better than most Waffle House's food. We came in the morning but didn't have to wait too long for a spot to sit. Our waitress was kind and attentive, keeping coffee mugs full. The food was out quick and it was delicious! Ok, I used to avoid Waffle House like the plague. IHOP was my go-to avoiding cooking for myself, head to a breakfast food location of choice, and if I am not wanting waffles it's still my go-to spot. But, I've gone to a couple now, (I think I'm up to 6 trips in my lifetime, and 3 of those have been in the last two or three weeks). Ether the cleanliness of the chain has stepped up, or the local management is doing a better job explaining to the folks working there that most people don't like cigarettes in their grits. But I've come away not being totally disgusted. I like that tax is included in nice round number prices, and I'm sure that makes it easier for many of the chains clientele and workers alike, (sorry, I had to make that joke; but then again I am now a "regular" as I've gone three times in as many weeks.) So, I'm left puzzled, do I rate this off what I expect from a Waffle House, or do I rate this off my scale that represents all restaurants? It seems unfair but if this was an IHOP I'd give it a 3star, but if it was a nicer restaurant it would be a 2 or 1 star. The menus were sticky, the health inspector probably doesn't eat here, it has some dirty spots, and I don't think I'd tell my friends I have gone here, but it's cheap, it's not owned by Landry's, (I don't think so anyways), and it is filling. And compared to my prior experiences this was way better than I used to expect so, it's not 5 star, but it ain't too bad ether. read more

Suni was a great server and cook. The scheduled cook was a bit MIA. I went around 2 AM because I'm working nights and I wanted to get out of the house and read. Suni was very understanding that I wanted to read first and maybe order later. I ordered hot tea to drink while I waited. I ordered Hash Browns with onions, cheese, and chili. Unfortunately suni came with my food done without chili ( they were out of chili) but I told her it was fine, but I asked for cheesesteak instead. So she made that for me and did a good job. Food was good, however they forgot our waffle. We waited about 10 minutes after we were done with our main food to ask for our waffle. Waitress got us a waffle and deducted $2 from our tab which we didn't have to ask. That was a plus. Waitresses seem like they move in reverse which is not like a normal Waffle House. 3 tables around us were empty but left dirty with prior people's food and took about 10 minutes to clean, even though there were more people waiting.... First time I came to this place, ordered to go, ordered two sandwiches, hash browns w/ chili. Got home, no chili. Maybe it was an off night, no biggie. Second I time I came they got it right. Third and final time. I waited nearly one hour! Ordered triple hash brown topped with chili. After waiting around 15 minutes, came and told me they would have to cook from scratch and I'd have to wait a bit. Let them know no big deal, not in a hurry and I can wait. After about 20 minutes another woman came by and told me they haven't started yet, and again said that they would have to cook it from scratch and that it would take thirty minutes to cook. Again let them know that I would wait. Another 15 minutes went by and a guy comes and tells me that they have yet to start cooking it and that I'd have to wait. Clearly these people did not want to cook the food. It amazes me how some people will spend more effort/energy/time, getting out of work, than the actual work would have taken. Called the one in league city, ordered to go, left this joint, was ready when I showed up in around 12 minutes. Avoid this place, take the short drive to another Waffle House, and avoid this one. read more

We frequent this Waffle House every weekend day for take out. They've made their mistakes in filling the order from time to time, but nothing that couldn't be overlooked. However, this morning, they got just about everything wrong. I couldn't even eat what I got. After paying 20 bucks and a top for food we didn't get, it's the last straw. I sent a complaint to the corporate office already this morning. This food that you do get is good. Many times on the weekends, they don't even answer their phone. On those days, we go to the League City Waffle House. I realize this is a busy place, but if you can't get the order right, then hang it up. With so many breakfast choices around here, seems that they would try to get it right. read more

Horrible service. You aren't acknowledged when you enter. There is not a host tracking seating. Our visit was during a very busy breakfast period and there were at least 9 people waiting to be seated. There were 3 empty booths that needing cleaning, it was over 15 minutes before this was done. The staff isn't friendly and they are very slow and not concerned with providing decent service, often times standing around conversing despite the busy atmosphere. All three of our orders were incorrect. Over medium eggs were very undercooked. Scrambled eggs were cold. Waffle with chocolate chip was given to us on a dirty plate and that's just to name a few things wrong. Our waitress had no etiquette, she held the plates so close that her apron and hand touched the food. She reached over our food on the table nearly touching the food with her forearm. What can say other than if you want a lot of good food for your money this is the place to go. I first decided to check it out after Anthony Bourdain had dine at a waffle house with a Blue Hill Beard Award Chef. I was pleasantly surprised on how delicious it all was. Loved the open kitchen concept and able to watch your food being cooked. The pecan waffles are delicious. You can get eggs, grits, toast, breakfast meat and waffles for less than 8 bucks. The services is old school you feel like you've gone through a time warp. Their definitely hustling to get the food out quick. I've been able to get from the cook how the heck does he cook such perfect scramble eggs. He said scramble them in the pan with a little oil. That's it. With the diner feel and open kitchen l feel like I'm at my Aunt's house for breakfast. Next time I'll get some photo's. read more

I went on a holiday and was surprised by how packed the place was. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and directed to a table immediately after. My server was prompt and brought my order out quickly. I had a single waffle and an order of bacon. Can I just talk about that bacon for a second? There is just something about bacon cooked of a flattop that makes it the crispiest and most delicious thing you've ever consumed. It a flavor I've never been able to recreate at home, not even after purchasing an electric griddle. The waffle was perfect, as I expect from Waffle House, and that's great because that was the sole reason for my visit. I craved waffles and where else to go except for Waffle House? The waffle was firm enough to hold up against thick syrup but soft enough to bend as I shoved huge pieces in my mouth. I, of course, devoured the whole thing in an amount of time that I should be ashamed about, but I'm not. My table was clean and void of any stickiness. This is Waffle House people, not Denny's or IHOP. The food is designed to be quick and cheap. In order to keep prices down of course the napkins are going to be thin and small. Anyhow this location is OK as far as Waffle Houses go. It recently became a corporately owned store (the franchisee sold it back to the company) so hopefully things like cleanliness and employee personality will take more of a front seat. I visited here with a friend on New Years Eve (well, 3am on New Years Day) and the place was crowded and busy....but we still got our burgers and hash browns about 5 minutes after ordering them. So no complaints about speed. Our waitress was rather brash and unfriendly. She actually told us "I don't have all day, so make up your mind quick" when we sat down. Wow. The other employees there were very nice and the DIVISION manager was actually there and came by to check on us. Wow x2. Anyhow good food. Relatively cheap prices.
