Let me start with saying... Absolutely terrible treatment from staff. I have a stomach condition that forces me to eat slower than regular people. if not, I have terrible acid reflux. A specific team member named "Travis" made me and my lunch companion feel very uncomfortable and pressured to leave. As a paying customer I think that I am owed atleast the minimum level of respect. I never quite know how to decide to go to Waffle House. I'll have to admit that as a rule, they are not my favorites. Maybe I'm a breakfast snob, but I more often or not would choose something else. My husband and I were in Shelby for a wedding and needed to make an early start to our trip home to Atlanta, so he suggested we stop here for breakfast. The service was great, we were greeted by two or three people at once, and our actual server who took our order was funny, friendly, and got us settled with a hot cup of coffee right away. Our meal was simple, just a pancake, and a couple of eggs scrambled for each of us. We asked if the eggs could be scrambled with onions and bell pepper and were easily accommodated. The staff was attentive to cleaning tables and moving people through quickly, the food came hot and was tasty and we were on the road before we knew it. A definite good start to our day. read more

So this place can't keep up with the small amount of business they have here. They don't cook what other locations do which is weird since I thought they were all ran the same way. The wait staff seems totally lost. People got up and just left due to no service at all. 20 min to just get a coke wow that shows you how great this place is. Jennifer was a 5-star server. She seated us when another server said that dine-in area was closed. She was very attentive and cordial. We shared Christmas decorating stories. As usual the food was great, although the waffle wasn't quite as fluffy as they usually are...and the coffee really hit the spot. A job well done! read more

Horrible customer service. I wanted a special mother's day outing with my daughters and when we arrived a lady was cleaning a table from someone who had just left (my guess). We sat down to wait to be seated and everyone just kept staring at us - NO hello, NO happy mothers day, NO good afternoon - NOTHING -- Just glares from their employees when my girls weren't even being bad at all just sitting in their chairs. After a few minutes of this horribly awkward waste of time (and i'm ashamed because we LOVED Waffle house back in Belmont) another party came in and sat down and I told the girls we were leaving due to lack of customer service. Don't go to this one it is DIRTY! Floors dirty table tops dirty and the people are not friendly. I went in today around 10:30 am and sat at the counter and never could get waited on. No one even greeted me even though servers were just 2 feet from me. I finally after 20 minutes got up and left. This place is a joke! read more

Food is good but place is dirty. I went in there with my family the other day and it took about 20 minutes to even get a seat because the whole place was dirty. It did not have a lot of customers it was just that people were not cleaning off the tables. Food was good service leaves a lot to be desired. Walked in and get the we are doing to go only. Ok we will be good with that. There were people there but we were assured they were there already and were finishing up. One guy was actually barefoot (customer) I am a regular of the Waffle Houses in my local area so I understand why we get the to go orders only it was fifteen minutes before midnight so yeah it will be ok. We were rushed to get our order in after the waitstaff realized we were actually going to order and we kept our order simple three bacon angus burgers and a large coffee as we would be eating sitting in the car. The waitstaff was complaining about it being a Monday and not being able to get a break to sit down and the cook was complaining she had to cook three hours straight. Thanks for cooking kid at least your cooking was good. Waitstaff did not really seem too concerned with customer satisfaction and as soon as our order was done and the other customer was done and we were out the door all workers went outside for that break to smoke do their just whatever... and one went in to finally clean but as I'm sitting here eating can't help but notice the girl sitting as she is wiping high bar my children are watching and noticing everything she does they are not impressed as when she had halfway cleaned and stacked dishes and trash the waitstaff walked back out to visit with the rest of the staff to smoke or whatever.... The girl told her coworkers she cleaned the tables and stacked dishes had thought about cleaning the floors but eh. My children are watching this and saying they are smoking don't wash their hands and one of the girls not the cook but the other that was helping did not use gloves when making our sandwiches. If my children question why staff doesn't wash and take notice of what is not being done correctly then it is because they know how it should be done as they are regular customers and old enough to pay attention to what everyone does at their job and have questioned the staff at our local WH. I've been driving for several hundred miles so I don't feel bad about sitting here watching as these girls hang in parking lot as the store is dirty and as this review is long and I'm typing it has been quite awhile that the store is empty with door unlocked well my children must have stared too long the girl that wiped high bar went back in. So it is now 1 am and definitely will not be recommending this store as the girls on shift at the moment seem to find it too much to do the job they were hired and trained to do and either ignore customers or act as if they are aggravated to meet the customers needs. And on a last note the rest of the girls finally went in to help put the store in order it's ten after 1 now. My daughter said you sweep before you mop and yep another customer walked in as we sit here wasn't acknowledged for a bit and finally got the to go order only message and they left. There are three working and it truly makes me appreciate my local WF as they will keep dining area open with two working just with the understanding there may be a longer wait and they are always respectful to the customers. Well here goes another three customers let's see okay they were acknowledged pretty quickly. Remember you never know who is noticing your actions at work. To my local WH I appreciate you even more now and everyone there knows if I have something negative to say it's because it was truly beyond notice. Shoutout to my WH at the Marion NC location exit 86 I appreciate you kids for consistent service with respect for your customers and y'all know I speak of all the customers not just my family. This one is cleaner, friendlier and tastier than many other Waffle House locations I've visited. I love the All-Star Breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, hash browns and a classic waffle. We hadn't been in a while, so we were craving some Waffle House! The music was a bit loud on the Jukebox for our tastes, but most people didn't seem to mind, as we were the only ones really having a conversation in the place at the time we were there. Tiff was a very nice server to us. And the place was much cleaner than many WHs, even the men's restroom. There's a homeless guy who hangs out on the street between the restaurant and the main Highway 74 entrance, and be stared us down as we pulled in, so that's kind of unnerving. He seems to live there by the highway, as we always see him. Not sure what's going on there, but it doesn't seem to be an issue with the actual dining experience. My wife and I generally prefer Waffle House to Denny's and iHop. read more

I love most waffle house's. Not this one! Ate breakfast here today and our meal started out with a dirty table. Followed by the most unpleasant waitress (Crystal). She never said hello, never smiled, and did a poor job of offering us more coffee and tea. My fork was dirty. The food itself was good. Now for the ultimate turn off. As we were leaving and the restaurant was near empty, one of the servers was on a ladder above the grill area cleaning the stainless and ceiling tiles with a wet brush. The service is terrible I called an order in last night and was told it would be five to ten minutes I waited on them to call me back and they never did so I drove up there and the whole night shift is in the parking lot smoking hadn't even started on my food so I try to be polite and I wait for them to cook it I make it home Ann's I open the box and the foods wrong I call back up there the waitress I spoke to said they would remake it so I drive back to Waffle House and walk in and they had no clue as to what was going on after I had just spoken to the girl on the phone so I wait on them to remake the eggs while my hash browns are back at the house getting cold it took fifteen minutes for them to make my eggs and I ended up having to ask for my food because the cook had no clue what was going on read more
