We were the only customers which was sad to see because it seemed to be a great place. The atmosphere was nostalgic and there were many old photos hanging that were really neat to see. The building itself is old so it fit well with the theme. The Manager running the place was talkative & friendly telling us about the business and a bit about the other locations. We shared 2 different sandwiches a special of the day and a club. The food was good. We really enjoyed them. There were a few take out orders while we were there. This covid shut down has hurt so many businesses. They even reduced their hours and close early now. Looking at past photos the dinners looked so good. He wasn't sure if they would reopen yet for awhile because of covid. Prices are a bit higher than some places but they are not like other places they have their own Niche. Most of the group found our selections to be fairly well prepared. I heard particularly good things about the pancakes and the "moons over my hammy." I went with the country fried steak and eggs, and I would rate my choice as just okay. The steak was tender but wasn't an especially large portion. My eggs were overcooked a bit, and I found the hash browns a bit harder in texture than I prefer. All of it was edible, and none of it tasted bad, but I wouldn't order it again. We don't have a lot of Denny's locations in my area, but their franchises are usually solid performers based on my previous visits. This one didn't measure up, I'm afraid.

Ordered a hamburger steak, cooked medium, emphasized hot pink in the center, with corn on the cob and french fries. Food comes out, the hamburger steak was very well done. Instead of taking my plate away, she scooped the hamburger steak onto a saucer because she had to prove to the cook that it's burnt. I wait 10 to 15 minutes for the replacement, and that's all that comes out. Corn is cold, fries are cold. I mention that to her, no response. The corn was sitting in a small dish of butter. No way to eat it, except picking it up with my bare hands, butter running down my hands. Plenty of seating available, they stuck us in a cubby that felt like we were in sardine can. Had to take my wife's bag back out to the vehicle because there was nowhere to put it. So much for the ambience. Been there, done that, never again.
