Or more…read moreprecisely a place named after my Mom and Dad's famous restaurant located on Gulfway Drive in the 70s-80-90s - Monceaux's Drive In. This new knock off restaurant may have good/decent food but is no way associated with the one and only Monceaux's Drive In that people knew and loved in the heyday of Port Arthur/Groves. While I wish these new folks have used THEIR family name vice MY family name to grow their business - I do resent the fact that they are trying to fool people into believing the RJ Monceaux family has any association with this take out location. The original Monceaux's Drive In on 16th Street/Gulfway Drive) has a proud history - this place is NOT part of that history. Murphy J. Monceaux

I like the lavender themed drinks, quite good without being too sweet. I don't think the food is great. We ordered shrimp and a burger. The shrimp was quite spicy and good, but the burger was just too greasy. The servers could do well to double check on a table once the food has gotten there to make sure all is well and to make sure we have napkins.

We brought our dog with us and there were three hosts in the front who promptly seated us. However, after 10 minutes it became apparent we didn't have a server at all. We had to flag someone down (although it was not and packed). I ordered the chicken fried steak and it came out surprisingly fast (within 5 minutes). To my disappointment, not only was it not hot, it was barely warm. I knew from reading reviews not to expect too much from the food. I liked that it's dog and family friendly. Kids can run around and play, and there's a large screen to watch games, etc.
