We just wanted pancakes but hadn't been in a Waffle House in 17 years and my waffle and hash browns hit the spot.

We arrived around 10:30 on a Wednesday morning and we were wrong to think that the place would be empty after an early breakfast rush. We were seating upon entering by Brooke who also was our server. The menu is varied and we found out that you can order anything at anytime. We had ordered the Spicy Pulled Pork omelette and Shrimp and Grits. Next time, we're thinking a Grouper sandwich as they were being enjoyed at two tables next to us and looked delicious. Our breakfast entrees arrived quickly. The omelette came with a choice of side and I chose the potatoes. They were seasoned but a bit cold and hard. Brooke offered to swap them out when checking on us, but by that time, I was filling up from the large packed omelette. It was filled with pork, peppers, onions and cheese with more spicy, sweet pork on top. I wish the entrees came with toast. The shrimp and grits were served over gouda grits as requested and the dish was spicy and filling. Definitely one of the best we tried in a while. Drinks were refilled promptly and Brooke took care of her guests quickly and with a smile.

I didn't care for the flavor in the shrimp batter and the fries were heavy coated with pepper. I generally like pepper, but it was a bit much. The grilled pork chop wasn't bad. I will say a $7 charge for a large chocolate milk that wasn't even that good of milk. Maybe we ordered poorly today. Our server was a 10/10.

Even though they have a pretty small menu, similar to most golf club restaurants offer, the Lost Key Restaurant (now known as Grille 625 at Lost Key Golf Club) has a slightly larger menu than normal. The Lost Key Burger (made as a smash burger) is my go-to lunch when I am looking for something that is filling, fast, and affordable. They have a full bar, including liquor, wine, tap or can beers, and fountain or canned sodas. They also will run lunch specials fairly regularly as well as dinner specials from time to time. The staff here has always been great, whether it's the bartender or chefs. There has been some turnover in staff recently, but both the old and new staff are great. Lexi is one of our new favorite bartenders during the week and Victoria is our favorite Sunday Brunch bartender. If you want to try out a high quality golf club restaurant, check out Lost Key Restaurant.

Get the kale drink - it tastes just like a fruit smoothie but has some many good veggies. The omelette was full of meat and veggies and my daughter's pancake was TO DIE FOR! But that's not what this is about: this cozy corner spot surprised us in the best way. My biker buddy, "Secret Squirrel ~ Filter," had the Reuben and declared it one of his top five--looked and tasted fantastic. As for me (Rider name "1/2 Time") had the Steak and Cheese Benedict: two English muffin halves topped with seasoned steak strips, sautéed bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, pepper jack, two poached eggs, hollandaise, paprika, and herbs--it was delicious and fairly priced. They don't serve alcohol, so I missed a Screwdriver, but the iced tea was surprisingly good (and that's not always easy to pull off). Service was prompt and friendly. The cashier stood out--huge smile and wonderful attitude; I wish I'd gotten her name. Fun moment: she mentioned her dad was Navy and joked about names he told her for us Marines--Reply was yup us to we mostly called them Squids. But when push came to shove we always stood together. One Team One Fight! If you get a chance stop in and when you do tell them a Old marine on Yelp called "1/2 Time" told you. We don't get anything, but they will know that I was true to my word and did leave a review.

We decided to come here based on the reviews of other Yelpers and it did not let us down! The atmosphere is really cool, and I loved looking around at all the dollar bills left behind by other diners over the years. We ordered the Hub Sampler so we got to try a little bit of every classic fried item on the menu. It included fried mushrooms, pickles, mozzarella, and then corn fritters. It was great and had something for everyone! Each of us ordered a sandwich and then one chef salad to split. Because we were also eating a sandwich, the salad was big enough for 4 people to share. It was really big for an entree salad! Everything was good and fresh. My husband and I split The Main Street with potato salad. It's a yummy take on a club sandwich. The standout of the entire meal though was the potato salad. It is a must try. I haven't stopped thinking about it since and I'm kicking myself that I didn't get a to go order to bring back home with me! I will be recommending this spot to everyone looking for casual dining in the area. If I ever find myself vacationing in the area again, this will be my first stop for a meal!
