First time trying a Waffle House and we ordered in. I had the peanut butter chip waffle and it was cooked perfect. Great peanut butter chips and plenty of butter and syrup packets. I also tried the grits which I also covered in maple syrup. The grits were buttery and very good. I would definitely prefer them again. We had one of our best Waffle House experiences ever at this location. The diner and building was kept in very good condition -- things were very clean, bright, and neat. Everything was maintained well! Food was classic Waffle House food -- solid, dependable, and filling. All our dishes came out super fast and, as a breakfast before a beach day, it was convenient and delicious. However, the service is what stood out here. Our waitress Michele was the epitome of hospitality. She was such a joy and made our experience 10x better. It's not that her actions were any different than any other waitress, but it was her friendliness and cheerfulness that made my time at Waffle House more memorable and pleasant. I've eaten here 7 times recently and each time has been really good! The staff are very nice as I've gotten to know them and now they know my favorite order when I walk in if those members are there. The grilled chicken sandwich is very good. It's been clean and the cooks go through all the proper steps to assure a great meal. It's also isolating pretty fast service which I like. read more

First time ever at a Waffle House and I get it now.... This place is legit! We stopped in for breakfast and it was packed! The smell of hot buttery waffles and yummy goodness filled the air. I wanted everything! I ordered eggs with toast and grits and a waffle. My partner ordered a hash brown bowl and a biscuit... everything was really good but the clear winner of the day was the waffle!!!! I honestly can't believe how delicious it was! This was a nostalgic stop for me. Waffle House was one of my dear Aunt's favorite places to eat. When I had visited one with her 20 years ago, the staff yelled out orders such as "a bowl of red" and a "bow wow". That meant a bowl of chili and a hot dog. I guess times have changed. There was no diner lingo going on there today. The food was very good. I had a grilled chicken breast on a buttered english muffin. It was very juicy and the muffin was toasty and delicious. I was so excited to finally check out that out waffle house! I like the menu .. it was short and sweet. You can get a hamburger for breakfast which was great because my boyfriend doesn't like eggs. He was thrilled with his burger. I got the sausage scramble and I liked the fact that I could add jalapeños to my hash browns. The sides on the menu were interesting.. There were two different types of ham slices available one was considered "city" which was basically Canadian bacon and the other was considered "country" which was bone sliced ham. If you're a meat lover this is your place..Philly cheesesteak with your eggs?? Yes please. The WH sauce packets they were served with my boyfriends burger were a fun surprise.. Making the drive South you can't help but to see waffle houses a plenty. I usually catch one on the way down but this time I had to settle for it upon arrival. Something that always jumps out at me here is the teamwork and communication involved in making this place run smoothly. This was visit was no different. Super friendly and professional staff made our morning breakfast delightful. While sitting at the counter I thoroughly enjoyed watching the staff do there thing while I waited. It's waffle house so I always get the plain waffle with sausage. Pecan, peanut butter, and chocolate chip flavored waffles are also available. This WH location for some reason isn't crowded but it should be - the service is above norm for most and the food is cooked exactly how I like it everytime. Waffle house is the ultimate destination after a night of imbibing! Not many places open all night with decent greasy food to soak up the alcohol, save Taco Bell! That isn't to say it can only be enjoyed while drinking. But be aware it can draw in some seedy customers from time to time. Their menu is simple. It's not gonna wow you when you come in, and the food while good, is hardly anything to write home about. To be honest, I only come for two things in particular. 1) Their hash browns. They give you the option to load them up with all sorts of toppings like ham chunks, veggies, cheese, onions, etc... They can make a boring breakfast or lunch plate a little more exciting. 2) Two words: pecan waffle! It's awesome. I've made many trips and just ordered a couple of these. They are that good. It's a waffle loaded with crushed pecans and delivered nice and crispy. If these two items didn't exist on their menu, there would be little reason to visit unless greasy food was just calling your name late at night. All being said, they are average at best, but often hit the spot. read more

We stopped in late after moving all day. After midnight, the choices are few around here. I went with my standard Waffle House Feast-T-bone and eggs with hash browns and toast. The T-bone was a big disappointment, being very gristly and tough with too little meat. The eggs were OK, as were the hash browns and toast. The service was excellent and the high point of the visit, which was otherwise very average. The service kept the rating from being a two star. read more

How could you come down to the south on a vacation and not stop at the local Waffle House for a meal? We actually saved this until the very end of the trip and enjoyed it as we were leaving sunny Florida. You can't really go wrong here (the fact that you're choosing to eat here is wrong enough) Waffle House is so hard to explain. Like it's so disgusting and weird that it's actually good. It's good for your soul more than anything. We sat at the bar and chatted with all the employees about their lives and the vacation we'd just had. They were extremely friendly and even laughed at out northern accents and stand offish questions about their food. Overall it was a super fun experience to be here and we got some sweet Polaroid pictures out of it so I have no regrets! If you're in the south just bite the bullet and check out this Waffle House. Also - the bathrooms here were super clean. I'd give it 5 stars but I don't think any Waffle House really deserves 5 stars. read more

Simple! We go there 2-3 times a week. Never had issues. Today's server was terrible. We had to ask for every single item because she was socializing/playing music. After not having silverware when meal arrived, we asked her to change with someone else. She left and we overheard "homophobic remarks" she was making to another employee. Not cool. Manager approached, we explained, he became irritated. Told us "I am the district manager, you don't have to eat here". Manager very arrogant. We see him often and he presents as "stressed out" every time. Now we won't go back. Having someone make remarks like she did is not uncommon, but not from a place that we frequent and everyone knows us, except this employee. But this whole situation with the manager not addressing the issue doesn't say much for waffle house. Of course we won't spend our $46 + generous tips there again. So, in short, poor service, arrogant manager that refused to address homophobic remarks. That said, just keeping it real! read more

The food was inedible. Omelet seemed to be from a mix, maybe eggbeaters? It looked sad. There were some processed cheese slices just laying inside of it, not even melted. The potatoes were burned and nasty. The server never asked if everything was OK, just handed us the check. As we were leaving she offered to box it up. I said "no thanks, it was terrible." This is the worse Waffle House I've endured. Oh yeah, the music, which was off when we came in, got turned up to blasting some horrible music with an autotuned singer. Two staff work hard getting orders but also clean while another lady stands down end waiting around complaining about messes people make. The manager needs to use All the people he has which seems like too many and set up better system. Have the cooks cook. Why cant the orders go on something infront of them to read orders instead of paying a guy to stand there. Or have employees call out their own orders. You've got to have the right perspective to go to Waffle House. I remember it as a kind of dirty place where people sit, drink coffee and smoke cigarettes. The cigarettes are gone now, but all else remains the same. Food is average at best. Ok, some of it is awful. Waffles are a safe bet, but don't expect anything fancy. This is simple food based on a fifty plus year history unimpeded by progress. As long as you understand that you will survive. Also remember, the bluish tattoos the cook has are from time served.
