Finally got to try a Waffle House location (I'm from California). It was very laid back and they have a very simple menu. What I was not used to was that it is "First Come, First Served" and you seat yourself. Once a table opens up you have to go stand by it and wait for someone to come clean it up and wipe it down. The staff were very kind and our server was extremely pleasant, she absolutely had that Southern Hospitality you always hear about. We did have to ask for a broom to sweep under the table where there was hash browns and some forks on the floor, and I think syrup, so I was a little thrown by that but nothing major. Got here early, errand's to run, place was dead, took 5 minutes to get my drinks, another 5 after ordering to even get my food started. Did we mention it was dead? Shift change cleaning, but could have easily went right back to it after cooking ours. It was definitely the slowest experience at this location so far. Had they been busy I could understand, jammed us up to the point we probably will not have time for running our errands. read more

Absolutely horrible. From the service to the food, it was a disaster. Sad thing is that we were only one of two tables occupied! The place was empty and now I understand why!! Service is as bad, food was cold and came out four different times!! Waffle first, then bacon, then my eggs and has browns and finally my toast last! It's Waffle House. Limited menu but they do it right...Can't beat the prices that include tax. Service is always good and love that the booths have cutouts like an extension of the counter to allow the services to serve from that end. Haven't eaten in one is 20 plus years and definitely not the greasy spoon it used to be. This place is much cleaner and airy than before. read more

After reading these reviews, classic example of what I once heard Yelp referred to..."a cesspool of gripe!" Another classic example of "irresponsible yelps." People wake up and come to work. They have to deal with dumbshits everyday. I didn't read a single legitimate review. In fact, I can't even call them reviews, bitter cesspool of gripes are what they are! SMDH!!! Super high false expectations! You are not eating at a Ruth Chris. Do you think you are at Chez Panisse in the Gourmet Ghetto in North Berkeley? In short, you are getting what you are paying for. Personally, I love the Waffle House. The food is not the greatest, service is fantastic and the delivery is prompt and efficient. And the price is just right! This Waffle House is across the way from where I stayed. Looks pretty new, so the decor and feel of the place is pretty rad. Everything seems to be clean and all the staff seemed to be busting their ass for us, the customers. Idk, call me crazy but I thought everything was satisfactory. Again, not the highest of quality but everything tasted fine and again the price, you can't argue with that! I honestly miss the days before Yelp! When customers had an issue they called for the manager and as grown adults they tried to handle whatever the issue may have been. Now we have a bunch of "cry babies" letting their thumbs "bitch/gripe" away. If you hate it that much, just don't patronize the business anymore. Is there really a need for the Yelp world to hear your gripe? Do you really want to hurt this business and all the hard working people (like you)? Man, I wish people would be a little more kind and Yelp responsibly. What's that saying? If you don't have anything good to say...stfu! (My version) lol Here in California we don't have the Waffle House, we have Nations which kind of sort of reminds me of the Waffle House. Walked into the Waffle House and was greeted kindly. They cleaned a table for me and my husband. I ordered the pork chop meal which is what I always get when I come to any Waffle House and my husband for the cheese steak. Our order came out in a timely manner and my pork chops were cooked perfectly! My husband finished all his meal as did I. I mean what's not to like when you need some food fast and cheap! Our server was very kind and friendly and it seemed to be a good team working tonight. The bathrooms were very clean which I definitely appreciated. Waffle House has not let me down yet! We had been traveling all day and had checked in at the hotel nearby and decided to get some breakfast. We go in and are the only ones in the restaurant. We are thinking great, that way we will get fresh food and really good service. Well the food was okay but, the service was terrible. Alexis was our server and acted as if we were putting her out because customers came in and she was going to have to serve someone. She had zero personality, zero energy and mumbled when she spoke. When she brought us our drinks, something was in mine??So she was inconvenienced by having to bring me a fresh drink. When we asked for the check, she put the check on the table and left the restaurant? I guess her shift was over? She was probably the worst server we have ever had. I wish I had read all the bad reviews before we stopped here. They were spot on. Horrible establishment. My granddaughter and I went to this Waffle House at dinner time around 6 pm. We live close by and have been meaning to try it. We walked in and were told they were only taking to go orders. I decided not to eat then but my granddaughter ordered a waffle to go. The waitress acted like she was pissed to have to make the waffle. Only 2 people were working and they were both unfriendly. The place was not clean but they should have had plenty of time to clean because we were the only customers in there. Apparently they have run everyone off. No one wants to work anymore. Worst Waffle House we've ever been to. I hope people traveling I-40 read all the bad reviews before they stop here so they won't be disappointed. With no customers in there it looks like all the locals already have tried this place and know how bad it is. read more

Let's start by saying if I could give zero stars I would. I have frequented many waffle houses all over the country, and never in my life have I experienced such horrible service. We went in at 7 am, the restaurant was half full, 3 waitresses and 1 line cook were "working". We seated ourselves, and waited patiently for a server. After 10 minutes of waiting to get a drink order in, I notice all 3 waitresses in the hallway on phones talking. I attempted to wave one down to get my drink order in, they all saw me and I was ignored. After 25 more minutes of waiting we decided to leave. As we get to our vehicle we see a waitress running out of the building yelling "I can serve you now" we left. Horrible service. Never going back. read more

took FOREVER. i'm actually sitting in here right now without my food. no one who is seated has their food, and the server is telling people they are no longer taking orders due to the fact that no one in the restaurant has their food yet. people are getting mad and leaving the restaurant. the cook is moving slow and does not seem to care, plus has her hair out around the food. would give 0 if i could.
