It's not perfect, but it would be easy to quit going and we haven't yet, so that must mean something. It's a chain, with all the pros/cons that go with chain restaurants. Overall, we prefer the Logan's vibe and their menu over other, carbon-copy, roadhouse/steakhouse chains. This location has always had pretty good service. There are occasional issues but never anything bad. We love the food. My wife is picky about the doneness of her steak and they consistently get it right. The rolls are like cake - I never get dessert just ask for more rolls. The side dishes are the usual stuff you get at a place like this. They have a decent selection of seafood dishes but I don't generally go to a steakhouse to eat fish. They have grilled meatloaf which is unique and tasty. The boozy drinks are fun and reasonably priced. The prices are right in line with the quality of the food. Our experiences have been mostly positive. If you like Logan's this one is as good as any.

As you can imagine, I've visited a lot of different locations! That being said, this is probably the worst experience I've ever had at an Applebee's. We arrived a few minutes before 10pm on a Tuesday. No issues being sat, though why they decided to put a group of five at the biggest table in the restaurant when the building was almost completely empty, I'm not sure. Our server was...fine? She seemed really stressed and a little absent. The result was pretty mediocre service. The whole reason we stopped in was to order half-price appetizers. Where I'm from, apps are half off the menu price after 9pm every night. Here, they have what they call "late night" apps, which is just a marketing scheme to make you think you're going to get your appetizers for half price when you actually have to wait until the last hour that they're open, it's only select appetizers, and they aren't actually half price. This whole duplicitous practice made me so mad that I wanted to leave! However, it was late, we were all tired, and we hadn't eaten, so this was pretty much our only option. We ordered a total of 2 appetizers and 2 drinks (other than water). Margarita - no salt on the rim after specifically requesting it. When it was corrected, it was done by another pissy member of staff, perhaps a manager? Coke - watered down. Didn't bother asking to correct it. Mozzarella sticks - underdone and falling apart when I tried to pick them up. It came with a half-full container of marinara. Boneless wings - ordered at the same time as the mozzarella sticks, came out 10 minutes after. And the cherry on top was an additional charge for marinara. I get two marinara sauces every single time I order mozzarella sticks, which is every time I go to Applebee's. I have NEVER been charged for this. Not to mention the fact that our waitress didn't tell me she was going to upcharge me! That's incredibly bad practice as a server, which I know from experience. Go anywhere else. I'm so serious.

We went on a Saturday evening around 6 PM, which is usually one of the busiest times for Cracker Barrel. To my surprise, there were only about three other couples dining besides us. The atmosphere felt cold and uninviting, nothing like the warm, welcoming feel Cracker Barrel used to have when it was at the top of its game. Our server was extremely slow. We were there for nearly two hours, and I still don't understand why. She only had our table, as another waitress was handling the other customers, yet it took her 20 minutes just to bring a glass of tea. Everything we requested was delayed to the point of frustration. The food itself was a huge disappointment. It was bland, and my grits were cold and clumped together, clearly sitting out all day. Cracker Barrel used to be my favorite restaurant. I've always loved it, but in the last two years it has gone way downhill. This visit was the worst yet, and it honestly breaks my heart to say this.

Unfortunately we were left pretty underwhelmed with the experience. It's not that Woody's is bad, per se, it just isn't...good. The service was great. Our server, Jaclyn, was very attentive and helpful. She didn't hover but she made sure we had what we needed and was nearby if we had questions or requests. Jaclyn recommended the margarita, which is where things started going downhill. My dad ordered a classic lime margarita and didn't take more than a couple drinks of it. We all tried it and agreed it just had a nasty flavor. Sort of like bad white grape juice? It was weird, and of course there's a little asterisk on the menu that notes all alcohol sales as final. We were unimpressed with that but didn't even try to argue the point. Our food came next. It was actually incredibly fast service, especially considering the 30-top that was seated when we arrived, with their orders given to the kitchen right before ours. Everything was hot and fresh, though not all delicious. Here's a run down of my family's reviews of their food: Build-A-Burger w/ Amer. cheese - A bit too thick and tough like the meat had been slightly overworked, but it had a great flavor and was seasoned well. The edges were burnt and it was well done, not medium well. Good beer-battered fries. Spicy Hawaiian chicken sandwich - Very flavorful and tropical but the toppings made the bun soggy and the ratio of filling to bun was way off, even with ham and lettuce removed. Crab cake tower - The fried green tomatoes and sauce were great, as was the corn bean salsa that came with it. The crab cakes were good too, though nothing special. The shrimp on top were juicy and well-seasoned. Wouldn't go back for it though. Korean pork tacos w/ mac & cheese - They were okay. The slaw included was a bit too sour but the pork was juicy and flavorful. The mac & cheese was too bland. Chicken strips & fries - The chicken tenders were cut wrong so they were hard to eat. I had to cut them up with a fork and knife to get bite-sized pieces that I could chew. They had a good flavor but the technique needs some work. The beer-battered fries have a strange seasoning on them that got more unpleasant the more I ate, but everyone else liked them, so that's probably just me. This is one of my least favorite restaurants we've been to on the Gulf Coast, which is unfortunate because I honestly thought I was going to like it a lot! For the price, I don't think this is a great place, especially because it's pretty out of the way from the main drag(s).
