Came here on Memorial Day to grab lunch and shop around the vendors. It was the perfect afternoon!…read more We tried a couple of different places: the combo plate (chicken, gyro, and shawarma) from Chicago Style Gyro, chicken plate (w/ mac & cheese and collared greens) from Tasty P's, chicken pesto pizza from Bella Nashville Pizza, and the beef brisket (w/ coleslaw and green beans) from Market City BBQ. Stand outs were definitely the pizza and chicken plate. We also checked out some of the produce vendors and got some fresh peaches and a watermelon and they ended up being so sweet once we got home and tried them. They also have a plant nursery area with a variety of different plants, trees, and gardening items.

I've been driving by this place for a few weeks now and decided it was time to stop in and check it…read moreout last Saturday. I was by myself since my husband was working but did a quick walk around to see what they had (didn't really have intentions of buying anything, just wanted to see what it was like). They had a nice variety of produce and even some meats and cheeses that I am hoping to try in the future. There were many homemade goods (jewelry, soap, leather goods, knives) and a little cafe that I didn't check out too closely. The area was pretty packed with vendors and customers so I tried to keep moving since I wasn't paying. From my brief first glance, their prices were better than many farmers markets I've been to but still more than Kroger. The cafe looked incredibly cute and smelled good so I'm excited to go back and try it! My only complaint from my trip (which may change if I go again and am not alone) was that it was pretty cramped and hard to just walk through and look without every vendor stopping you and trying to seek their product to you. I probably wouldn't have minded if I had money to spend but my budget was out for the week. I mainly just wanted to look and get an idea what prices were so that I could go back and get the goods. I do expect my opinion to change (in a good way) when I go back, so I'll update my review as appropriate when I do!

I picked up my usual local FM finds, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, in addition to a loaf of baked blueberry zucchini bread and a mosquito plant... that smells like citronella. I would say that it's a larger than average Farmers Markets. It's about the same size as the Lexington Farmers Market and considering Lexington is the second largest city in Kentucky, that says a lot for the smaller city of Glasgow.

But when it comes to loyalty and price. The veggie stand has everyone beat. Unlike everyone else that uses a weight system and over prices things . I can say for the price and variety that you get here , beats everyone. At this small veggie stand, the family chooses the option of using small baskets and everything on the tables are a small $3.00 a basket. Other items such as the bell peppers, melons and such varies. And that's isn't a bad price for them other. Most melons ranges from about $2-4 and the bigger ones can be about $5 bucks and yet that still isn't bad at all.
