This time around we hit the drive-thru and got a half dozen and two kolaches. These might be the best kolaches I've had from a donut shop. The sweet beard surrounding the donut melted in my mouth and it was filled with cheese! The hot dog had a nice snap and was just a tad spicy. Although they don't have any of the specialty donuts that some stores offer, they have all of the traditional donuts you come to expect -- old fashioned, glazed, sprinkles, cake, twists, and coffee rolls. They also have kolaches (spicy and regular). I always grab my donuts to go, but there are chairs and tables to enjoy your donuts in the store. The dining area is basic and somewhat sterile, but it gets the job done. Gourmet Donuts also sells a variety of cold drinks and hot coffee if you're thirsty or need a drink to go. They sometimes sell out of donuts, but you can call Tony and he'll set aside the donuts you want. There's also a drive thru window if you don't want to come inside.

It sits right next to the dollar general behind speedway gas station.

You can't really see the kitchen but there is alot of activity back there and fresh donuts were coming out. To go orders only, the only table is a coffee station with plenty of options to customize your favorite beverage. Now to the dozen: what they do well, Lickin Good does really well. The yeast donuts are light and airy, easily could pop a few before you stop. Chocolate and maple frostings have great flavor. Vanilla/royal icing was flavorless. On the cake side, the ube and chocolate donuts shined. I can see going back for the double chocolate donut experience another time. The specialty donuts didn't stand out with us. The old fashioned donuts is too thin and not tender. If you like your fritter fried, this one is fried. We lost the apple flavor. The cinnamon donut has cinnamon throughout but is underproofed and tough. We did not get any filled donuts but they are listed as filled to order. Don't see that very often.
