Every once in a while, you hire a company that does such an exceptional job that a simple five-star rating feels inadequate. This is one of those times.
And before anything else, here's something worth knowing: Although they're based in Fort Worth, THEY COME TO DECATUR! For those of us in Wise County who sometimes struggle to find exceptional specialty contractors willing to make the drive, that's a pretty big deal.
Now, let's talk about the trees.
I have two enormous silver leaf maples, approximately 50-75 feet tall. These aren't little ornamental trees you can tidy up with a ladder and a pair of pruning shears. These are serious, mature trees requiring someone who knows exactly what they're doing.
Enter Alex.
Watching this man work in a tree is like watching a Cirque du Soleil performance with chainsaws.
Seriously. The skill, confidence, and precision involved in navigating those massive trees was remarkable. There's a world of difference between someone who knows how to cut branches and someone who genuinely understands how to work safely and effectively in a mature tree.
Alex clearly belongs in the second category.
And the results? ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING.
But this wasn't just a job involving two giant maples.
They also handled our seasonal trimming and shaping, including crape myrtles, shrubs, privets, and yaupon hollies. Different plants, different growth habits, different pruning requirements--and they approached the entire property with the same level of attention and care.
That's what impressed me most. It's one thing to bring in a crew to tackle a couple of enormous trees. It's another to have that same crew pay attention to the smaller landscaping details that make the entire yard look professionally maintained.
They didn't just trim trees. They transformed the appearance of the property.
And then there's Brent.
If you've ever hired contractors, you already know that finding someone who communicates well can sometimes feel like discovering a rare and endangered species.
Brent was fantastic.
Responsive, professional, easy to work with, and excellent at keeping us informed. No guessing about what was happening, no wondering whether somebody would show up, and none of the usual contractor communication frustrations.
That combination--Brent handling communication and Alex delivering incredible work in the trees--made the entire experience exceptional.
What really separates a great tree service from an average one is understanding that proper trimming isn't simply about removing as many branches as possible. It's about improving the appearance, structure, and long-term health of the trees while respecting the landscape around them.
