Overall, really good. Amazing service, will definitely come back. Super mellow and welcoming. If you're looking for a dinner with friends or anyone this is the place.

Recently, I dined @wwallacebar, and the food, service, and overall experience were fantastic. Located in a turn~of~the~century building in downtown historic Salem, the owners have done a wonderful job with their craft drinks and delicious menu. The ambiance reminded me of walking back thru time. We chose to eat outside and enjoy the warm summer night. We had fried Cod fish tacos served with picked onions and a sriracha sauce. We also had the roasted Brussel sprouts mixed with sweet potato and brie cheese.

Been a minute since I reviewed this place, but it's still killing it! Drinks are creative, booze selection is well-curated, food is solid, simple and fresh! Quaint, relaxing wood-grained atmosphere is perfect for a date or dinner with an old friend, or if you just want to enjoy an expensive single malt.

The tastiest drinks I've had, maybe ever. W Wallace is a quiet, comfortable place, perfect for a date night, easy to hear each other in conversation. Nice atmosphere, super nice people. The pear martini is absolutely delicious. My other favorite is the Der Wurdevolle Hirsch, which tastes like a gummy bear with ginger. The food is good too, there to complement the drinks. Truffle fries and bruschetta are my favorites.

This is my favorite drink in Salem, OR! The Rasberry Cobbler.

I love the drinks at W Wallace especially the pear one! Friendly bar tender and an old school bar feeling ambiance!

Our second time in the last few weeks to visit W. Wallace. We like the vibe and intimate atmosphere of this local pub. Service is always great and they have an awesome drink menu. The chef turns out some very tasty meals as well. Last time I had the street tacos along with chips and salsa (both excellent) this visit we went with the Rodeo Burger. This is a nice take on your standard burger, very tasty and filling. My wife also had one of the current specialty drinks which she really enjoyed. I ordered a Moscow Mule, and an Espresso Martini, both were well prepared. All in all a very good experience.

Bartender service was on point and exactly what I expected. I ordered an old fashioned and it was BUSSIN! Here's a pic....

This is a wonderful downtown neighborhood bar/restaurant with a grown-up vibe. Elegant without being fussy. We had the steak street tacos which were 100% on-point delicious. Very innovative cocktail menu and good service. On another visit we sat at the bar, had crème brûlée and another interesting cocktail. The bartender is super energetic and friendly. Great jazz music playing. Just a very fine ambience with good food and creative drinks. They do have a little outdoor dining area which unfortunately, same problem on a Friday night, that awful street musician stands at the corner of State Street and Liberty with an electric guitar and an amp and pretty much ruins outside dining for that entire intersection within earshot. Otherwise, we really enjoy this establishment and everything about it

My coworkers and I had stopped by for the Taco Crawl on Wednesday. The layout of the restaurant is very interesting because there are so many small details. They had a phone booth inside, bar with stools, and booth tables. The server gave us samples of the drinks. We each ordered different tacos and enjoyed them. The server would come and ensure we had received everything we wanted. The food was served in a timely manner. We had decided to do a team event here next time because we all were satisfied with the service and food.

Great service and really good drinks! Their outdoor seating is super nice and kept us the warmest out of all the outside seating spots so far! Our waiter was super into his cocktails and really wanted us to enjoy them. And they were great! We only stopped by for drinks, but next time we'll try the appetizers too! I only wonder if they do happy hour? We had an awesome time! Update: came back again and got great service and great food!

Dropped off our daughter and had an a hour and a half just with my wife. Sat outside, one of the positives of dining in Salem downtown for the last month of the 'rona. Had their house made limoncello which my wife loved (straight with a soda back). Liked it so much she had a second!! It's not for everyone, but she discovered her love of it in Italy 2 years ago. I had a gin cocktail and a pint of Stella Artois. We weren't going to eat, but ended up with fries, a salad, and jackfruit tacos. I think our vegan daughter can eat here. Not doing the salad again but there is enough on the menu to have dinner here.

    Filthy Martini. Delicious!

The bar manager, Vierra, made the best cocktail menu I have ever seen! She was so welcoming and we had the best time! She explained her inspiration behind every drink we ordered. True artist!! Love this place and the ambience!!

Better than 90% of the restaurants downtown. Good service. Tasty food. Not overpriced like table 508 or bo & vine.

You choose what you want and order at the counter and they give you a number. Then they'll bring it to your table. I enjoyed the rice bowl. The tofu seemed to be fried and the sauce on it was spicy. The miso Moon coffee thankfully did not taste like miso, lol. My friend had an espresso and said it was terrible, very sour. Everyone else at our table seemed to enjoy our food, there were a lot of burgers and fries being ordered at the group. They have my daughter's favorite sort of salad, with blue cheese and steak. Sadly, they were out of salmon the day we visited. Would definitely consider coming back if I'm in Salem again.

And that's saying a lot. You do not want to know of the torture. Suggestions: 1st: If you want to have a steak on the menu, at least serve the cut that is on the menu. 2nd: if you're worried about food cost, do something pounded, and marinated, OR do a small trimmed cut that is excellent quality, and serve it with a lot of mash and veg, and that bordelaise sauce (which wasn't bad). 3rd: Meatloaf

The stark difference in our second experience was night and day, making this visit truly exceptional. The cozy and romantic aesthetic of the restaurant remains fantastic, and the food and drink menu is still absolutely amazing. This time, however, we had the pleasure of being seated downstairs in Tiffany's section, and she was beyond stellar. Tiffany is the definition of exceptional service. She gave us a complete, helpful rundown of how they structure their tapas menu, offered fantastic recommendations, and was incredibly attentive throughout the evening. We had a great time chatting with her and her professionalism and warmth instantly made our return worthwhile. Her suggestions were perfect--she expertly helped us select a great wine and recommended the black ink pasta, which was a showstopper. Cozy Taberna, when paired with service like Tiffany's, is easily a 5-star restaurant. From now on, we will only return if we can be seated in her section!

We walked in on a whim for our first visit -- no homework, no planning. We will definitely return…read more Ambiance: comfortable, both cool and cozy. Music was excellent; audible but not intrusive. Comfy chairs. Lower lighting, well placed. Service was excellent, friendly and fast. I think our server's name was Mikayla; a gem. Attentive and observant but never intrusive. Drinks: my old fashioned was absolutely perfect and my husband's margarita was fine. Appetizers: beer cheese was well balanced and a bit runny, which I prefer over the library paste version some places serve. The elotes dip was a standout, mildly spicy, with lime in the cilantro, and warm, crispy chips. (Whatever is in their seasoning for chips and fries should be sold separately -- I wanted to try it on everything.) We probably should have stopped there, as the portions were abundant, but our mains were amazing. Smash burger was insanely juicy, nice and onion-y with a few Crunchy Brown Bits around the edges. The roll was fresh and tender, with a good crust; flavorful, not just a shingle. The fries were the best I've had in Salem. Get the garlic-thyme upgrade; you won't regret it. My ribeye was cooked perfectly. Unfortunately they were out of both compound butters, apparently due to a busy Friday, but everything was well seasoned. The vegetable of the day was roasted Brussels sprouts with a sweet-and-salty sauce, almost like kettle corn; amazing. The outer leaves were caramelized without being burned, and the hearts were tender but not mushy. Crispy fried onions were perfect. Fried potatoes were fine, and enriched by their placement between the steak and the sprouts. The diners who came in before us were all smiles when they left, so it wasn't a fluke. Can't wait to come back!
