Frozen Peach Margarita in the Party Size
Mary P.

I LOVE THE MARGS HERE!!! I got the frozen peach margarita in the party size for my sister's birthday this past weekend and it tasted so good and did the job!!

Margaritas For National Rita Day

Very shocked to know this place exists. I was headed to meet up with a colleague for a sports event and passed by this and thought, "that can't be real." Not in Texas! So I shared that I saw the place and we showed up and left with Margs to-go. They are not stingy with the liquor that's for sure. It was top shelf tequila and we had an extra shot. I would say check it out, especially if you're on the go and need something quick. Could be a good option to take to gatherings/parties. Prices are kind of steep, and given that it was National Margarita Day,- I was like hmmm we could have found way better deals but ya live and ya learn. Guy in drive thru was nice so that was a plus!

We ordered the frozen raspberry margarita and the pina colada. Although, they were really good they were kinda expensive compared to other places. It also sucks that they don't offer a small; they only offer mediums.

*Margarita only review* I believe these are the best frozen margaritas in the entire country! I am a tequila person so I definitely prefer these over daiquiris. And most other margaritas are either too sour or tart or not blended well or watered down. The consistency here is perfect! The flavors are bold and fruity. I absolutely love them that I've came 2 times already. Fyi: Over the last month or so, they have increased their prices and looks like they may have made changes to the flavor menu. But still taste great!

We had fast and friendly service on the Friday afternoon we went through the drive thru. We ordered the small original margarita on the rocks. It cost $10. It had good flavor, but I didn't detect any tequila. The straw hole is covered with tape that is tricky to remove. They serve food.

Drive through margaritas are perfect for a hot houston summer day. We got a HUGE 32 oz strawberry margaritas for only $13. Split between two people it definitely had enough tequila to be fun but also very good. It was tart and slightly sweet. They have lots of flavors I want to try next.

I wanted to come here for years! For the first time I finally came to this drive thru and was Really happy with my pomegranate extra shot margarita 24 oz. it hit the spot! I would however make it a double extra shot as it wasn't that strong.

This place is a ripoff, they're advertising "Jose Cuervo" premium margarita for $12.99 add extra shots for $1. Paid $15 for one with 2 shots. This thing tasted like sink water at best. Went inside to talk to someone about it and they said they can't do anything about it, I asked them where the José Cuervo was and they said "we don't use Cuervo tequila we use José Cuervo Margarita mix.. so to be clear that they charging 12.99 for a premium "Jose Cuervo margarita but using the same cheap well tequila and the same mix in all their drinks but charging more for the premium..the tacos were Just so so..

Plenty of options and all delicious!

When my girlfriend told me they had to go margaritas! I was totally down with picking some up for us. They're were delicious and not to sweet. Refreshing and enjoyable for a nice relaxing night on the patio with the bestie!

Sliders and rings

A friend suggested we eat here for the drive thru margaritas, but since it was going to be a lunch thing I resisted. Later when another spot we were meeting at didn't work out I caved and here we were. So first off if the weather is bad you don't want to have lunch here unless your doing the drive through. Our first visit here we perused the menu and were surprised it was so small and only had burgers on it. But she had sliders and I had the jalapeno burger with rings of course. Later we realized we ordered from the burger menu and they have a larger menu as well that we missed completely! There burgers are really good, and the rings not bad. But on our second visit I opted for the chili dog. Yea that bad boy was awesome!! SO if want enjoy some nice weather with good food The W is a definite must. Margaritas to go.. well that's on you, but a rare thing to find around here.

Nut allergy friendly: No issues here!…read more Parking is relatively difficult. There are a few spots in front, and they have signs for locations on overflow parking. Time to Order (weekday lunch): 8 minutes for a salad, 17 minutes for the Lunch Special sandwiches First off, I've got to highlight what an awesome lunch special they have. $6 for a burger or chicken sandwich is excellent! We arrived around 12:45PM. There were few enough people for me to snag the last parking spot up to the patio. You order at the bar and they'll bring food to the table. I asked how large the lunch special Lil' Chick Sammich and Lil' Creek Burgers were and they said they were on the smaller side. My interpretation was that meant something like a slider, so I ordered both the burger and the chicken sandwich with fries. They reeeeally undersold that one. The chicken sandwich was very reasonably normal sized and plenty enough for my lunch. I ended up taking the burger home. Lil Chick Sammich (4.5/5): Excellent for the value. Fresh ingredients, big piece of white meat chicken that wasn't too dry. Don't forget to ask for mayo. Fries: (4/5) Decent portions and came out reasonably crispy. Lil Creek Burger (2/5): I'd pass on burgers here. Way too salty and overcooked well done. Maybe if I had a beer with it! Overall, their lunch menu definitely has value and I'd swing by again for that if I had a working lunch.

Opted for the salmon trio sashimi, tontoro skewers, and one of their new appetizers, the yuzu ageimoono (?). The taro potato balls were delicious, smooth with a nice light crispy shell covered in a salty, light yuzu dressing. The tontoro was delicious, well roasted, not too fatty, and tender. The salmon trio was also great, coming with king salmon, regular salmon, and smoked salmon. To be honest, I could tell there was a difference between the king and regular salmon, but I couldn't really tell which one was which. I also had a bite of my friend's tantanmen, which was basically like the Japanese version of dandan noodles and it was delicious, great nutty flavor with a touch of spice. It has a pretty nice menu. While it is a touch higher in price point, it is pretty reasonable for Houston. The quality is pretty equivalent to what I had in Japan, although as expected, more expensive. Will definitely need to be back to try their other items!

When people in reviews say this place is dark, I mean "the lights are almost out" dark. The bouncer told me he's seen it all upstairs...orgies, girl-on-girl, gangbangs, swingers, you name it....it's not exactly a casual speakeasy. You need to plan a night here if it's your prerogative. The upstairs is couples only, but the bouncer told me that if you'd slip him $20 then you can go upstairs and try your luck. The pictures they show you are brightened. This place is nearly pitch black. And I'm not saying this to blow up anyone's spot, it probably is a great spot for couples but it just wasn't my scene, especially when I vouched that it was a good place for me and my guy friend to chill. Also, the bartender wouldn't give me and my friend the time of day. I was really excited to see how this place made drinks and they wouldn't even service me and my friend...she just was checking her social media. I might come back here one day with a girlfriend I know VERY well, but as for now I'll keep my change and go somewhere else

Very dim place which is right up my alley. Bartender seemed like a very capable guy, so I went with a oaxacan old fashioned (mezcal based) and it was decent. The downstairs bar area is nice and there is also comfy seating available nearby kinda in the cut. I definitely plan on coming back to Marfreless on a another visit

Bar Buena was a surprise find after we participated in a cooking class at Sur La Table across the…read morestreet. After the byob cooking experience, we figured "why not!?" So we walked on over to this little speakeasy and were immediately greeted by the bouncer. On a Thursday night, it was quite crowded, but were able to find the last remaining seats at the bar. We were seated at the left end of the bar, which was nice because we had our own little "nook" away from the rest of the bar. Adjacent to us was the server station - the one server tending to the tables, Marilyn, frequently came by and we immediately befriended her. She gave us excellent recommendations and provided her opinion on several drinks. Robin was the bartender who took care of us throughout the night. She was super friendly from the moment we sat down and gave us stellar recommendations on food and drinks. She was happy to tweak a couple of their seasonal drinks to our liking, and even offered to mix other drinks that weren't on the menu. Fantastic service from Robin throughout the night. I started out with Tommy's Margarita - this was just their take on a classic margarita, nothing super special. I then ordered the Oaxacan Old Fashioned - think of an old fashioned made with tequila and mezcal in lieu of bourbon. I was a bit cautious about this one since I am not a fan of mezcal, however the smoky flavor was not very apparent in this one, which was a huge plus! I also got the Ardilla - very unique drink made with mexican corn whiskey, cocoa nibs, sherry, and a milk punch. I award this drink for most unique I've had in a while, definitely give it a try if you're up for something new. To finish, I had the Cariña - their take on an espresso martini made with reposado tequila. I really liked this espresso martini - it was a great way to finish out the night and I left feeling inspired to make my espresso martinis at home using tequila now! With the little room we had left in our stomachs, we tried the Pato Tinga Memela, which was duck leg (no bone) with beans and onions and cilantro atop a memela. I haven't had memela specifically per se, but consider me a fan. It is basically a mini "cake" of masa that is pan fried to a slight crispiness. An Oaxacan speciality, where else can I find these in Houston!? We also tried the Guacamole y Tostadas. The guacamole was unique in the sense that it was Oaxacan style, so contains pepitas, pickled onions, and queso fresco. The tostadas were super crispy and reminded me of how they serve guacamole in Mexico (rather than with chips/totopos). Fun fact is that this bar is owned by Goode Company. Next door to this is Goode Co. Cantina, so it's nice that they created an adjoining restaurant + speakeasy concept within the same strip. At one point in our visit, Levi Goode was standing next to us. We didn't know until after he left and Marilyn informed us, that that was THE man. Just doing a casual check-in of his bar. We really had a good experience at Bar Buena and look forward to returning. The food menu has quite a few offerings I wanted to try had I not come from a cooking class. We were also told that the seasonal drink menu was set to change shortly after our visit, so I look forward to trying these drinks!

We did hang out in their standing room area for a little bit but were able to order drinks and snag a table pretty quickly. When I tell you this is the friendliest service I've ever had at a bar or restaurant, I mean it! All different members of the staff were checking in with us to make sure we were having a good time and enjoying everything. We tried out three of their drinks: enamorada, uno amargo, and their classic frozen mezcal margarita. I say this as someone who is stupid about cocktails, but I think if you're a fan of old fashioneds you'll be a fan of the uno amargo - it'll put some hair on your chest! I loved the frothiness that the egg white brings to the enamorada but I think the frozen margarita was our winner. Imagine your favorite frozen marg but better - the mezcal brings an earthier flavor to a cocktail that us Texans all know and love. Finally for food we had the pato tinga memela, gulf crab tostadas, and carnitas flautas. I genuinely loved them all so much, every protein was so juicy bursting with flavor, which makes sense considering everything is made to order. If I had to pick a favorite I would struggle (I'm not kidding, it was all that good), but I think the crab tostadas won us over with their freshness. We had such a great first visit to bar buena and I can see this quickly becoming a cozy date or after dinner drink spot!
