Shop Owners Warehouse

Shop Owners Warehouse

One of the worst experiences I've ever had. I called shop owners warehouse in reference to matching…read morethe paint color on my car. I had a little damage to the rear quarter panel the size of a silver dollar. The owner's son told me to bring the car in and they could match the paint. When I got there, the owner and a women working there were helpful. After looking at various shades of white paint from several sample cards and comparing them to the color of my car, the employee suggested a color. I bought the paint and some detail products. Unfortunately the paint didn't match. No problem things like this happen, not a big deal. Just go back have them fix it and move on. Boy was I wrong. In the mean time, I was able to get in contact with the guy that painted my car in an attempt to get the paint code which I thought would be a big help to the guys a shop owners warehouse. He actually had some of the paint too. So, I got paint and paint code. I'm thinking this will help. Boy was I wrong. On my third trip to shop owner's warehouse, I took the paint I bought from them back, I had the paint code and the actual paint that was used to paint my car in an attempt to get the correct paint for my minor repair. When I got there, the shop owner's son was not very interested in helping me resolve this issue. Mine you, a very small issue. He was disengaged with the whole situation as if I was irritating him with this small problem. He seemed very stressed out about this. After noticing his stress, I suggested that I return the following day to resolve to give him some time to figure it out. Boy was I wrong. On my forth visit to shop owner's warehouse, I was treated like I had stole something from the store. This guy became very agitated didn't want to help match the paint. He was rude and arrogant. He them went on to tell me that the paint matches the sample card. I agreed, it does match the sample card, but it doesn't match my car. The women who works there proceeded to open the can of paint that I brought with me and it seemed as if she was going to try to fix the problem. Boy was I wrong. While she's in the paint room, the son is becoming more and more stressed and agitated. Almost like a little kid. He told me this issue wasn't worth his time. His time is was more valuable than dealing with this. I was shocked. I just could not believe that this guy was acting this way over a $20 pint of paint. I told him it should matter if I was spending $20 or $500 he should treat his customers the same. It wasn't like I chose the wrong color paint and tried the blame it on them. The "paint experts chose the paint and it happened to be wrong. Not a big deal. Boy was I wrong. Well I think my time is pretty valuable also. 4 visits for a pint of paint and be treated like this is a bit much. He returned my $20 and I left. What a joke. I then went to API in Barberton. They got it right the first time and treated me like a customer. What a loser.

Sherwin-Williams Paint Store

Sherwin-Williams Paint Store

The Sherwin Williams saga - Two weeks ago I stopped at the Sherwin Williams store in Ontario. I…read morewas the only customer in the store for thirteen minutes. The lady said she would be with me right away three times. On the third time she told me she walked into the back room and was gone for at least a minute. I had enough and left the store. Within a couple of days I went to the SW store in Mount Vernon. I had with me the paint codes for the SW paint that I needed. The gentleman at the store said SW no longer made that color but he could get pretty close. I had him make me a gallon and paid approximately $60.00. When I got home I compared the color and it was not close at all. The following week I went back to the Ontario store with a piece of paper that I got from Callahan Doors that they said was a correct match to my doors. This was an actual paint on ordinary paper. It was a different person that waited on me this time and I ordered just a quart of paint and it cost me $38.00. I took it home and it was a perfect match. A couple of days later I happened to be in Mount Vernon again and I had taken the quart that was made for me in Ontario with the codes right on the can. A young gentleman said they could not match the color because the codes were for a quart, not a gallon. Now I am not a chemistry major but aren't there four quarts of paint in a gallon? I left the store at least a little angry and when I got to the car my very smart spouse said to me why don't you take the quart back in and have them open it and make a swatch on paper. Genus that she is it made perfect sense to me. I went back in and talked to a different gentleman who looked up what was needed without a paint swatch and said the store was without what was needed, and they wouldn't have it until next week. Off we go again. Another few days went by and my wife notice that they had a 30% off sale at SW for the next few days. I called the store and gave them my name and asked if they could mix me a gallon with the same color as the quart I had them do. The gentleman said yes they could and I asked him what the price would be. He stated it would be $78.00 and I also asked him if I would get the 30% discount and he said yes. I went to the store to pick up the paint and he said that the total would be $65.69. I replied that can't be right when you quoted me over the phone that the paint was $78.00 with a 30% discount off of that. He replied I am sorry but the paint was $98.00 and I gave you 30% off of that and then he gave me a $10.00 discount.

Really appreciated the service and advice we got from the staff at this Sherin-Williams. My fiancée…read moreand I are relative novices at paintings and were getting ready to paint our apartment. We'd gotten some swatches from Lowes and then decided to go to S-W directly to purchase. The staff were extremely helpful in suggesting which brand/quality of paint to choose, which finish, and how many gallons to buy for our space. We needed supplies too and got a good overview as to why there was such a range of prices for things like brushes. As I said we're novices and probably could have been sold pretty much anything, but it was clear that the staff were being straightforward and just giving solid, honest advice. I thought the prices were reasonable, considering we went pretty high quality and were able to take advantage of a sale going on. The finished paint job looks great, too.
