For years we would pretty much buy everything from our local big box home improvement store. Then we stopped by Lagrange Hardware. What a great store! They have everything. I mean, they really do! The store looks small from the outside, but once you walk in you realize it's a pretty big space. The staff is very helpful and the selection is outstanding. The prices are very reasonable. Some items were even cheaper than Lowes! All of this, and it was close to home. This past summer, we decided to bury a water line and electrical line through our backyard to a garden. We rented a ditch machine from Lagrange Hardware. The staff showed us how to run the machine, and load it and unload it on the trailer. The price was great! Much much lower than I expected! My husband ran that machine for several hours and finished the project in one day! Thanks to the equipment, staff, and selection at the store! We are customers for life!

The two older gentlemen that frequently work here are awesome, but there is one crotchety old man who said to me, "Are you going to take ALL of those samples?" I did the pregnant pause, looked at him and said, "Yes. And wouldn't you like me to buy all that paint from this place?" What a jerk. Anyway, I had a ball looking over Benjamin Moore paint chips and picking up spray paint and fertilizer sticks.

A must stop for anyone who can appreciate the timeless atmosphere of a small town hardware store…read more With towering shelves installed in the 1890's and creaking wood floors, three floors of the most difficult to find items and the occasional impossible find, Eureka is a must stop. Once, I broke a door lock in our Victorian era home. I went to Eureka figuring I could find something that had the same footprint to match up so the difference in wood colour wouldn't be so noticeable. Bob, then the owner, took me to the third floor and dusted off an old display. He produced an exact duplicate, New old stock, of the lock. He then sold it to me for the price on the 1890's era price sticker.

CropKing Inc. has to be the worst hydroponics system supplier out there. The first system I ordered…read morecame with incorrect parts and fittings, was 3 days later than originally promised on shipping, and in one years time I have replaced the greenhouse control system and their "fertroler" fertilizer control system and the fertroler ph controller is still not functioning properly. Being a glutton for punishment I order a second smaller system for experimenting with other things to grow in the system. The first salesperson did not take my initial order and enter it into their system, forgot who I was when I called back 5 days later to inquire about my order, and when I called back to check on it I got the Chief Operations Officer to continue to 'sell me on the quality' of their system and the professional nature of their sales force. The system was shipped without notification, emails where I inquired about shipping went ignored till after the fact. Note that this was all done by the Chief Operations Officer because I was worried, for good reason, about the sales person who originally took my order. The system has been in 'shipping' for over a week now and they wanted to deliver, you guessed it, on the one day I cannot take shipment, all discussed with the COO. So looks like it is going to take 2 weeks to get a simple system just so I can experiment. Moral of the story is if you want a total lack of communication, electronics that do not function as promised, and a 2 week headache on getting anything delivered, CropKing is your company!
