I can be forgiving, but when I got there and they lost my new patient record, it does not leave a good taste as to how they are organizing behind the scene. Dr. Hamidi seems really nice (personally very likable) but when I brought up my experience, she sort of hinted that she does not get involved with the administration, instead of saying, "I'm so sorry that you experienced that and I will be sure to let management know." I'm not sure the office has the level of compassion that patients are looking for. At this point, I'm not sure if I will be returning. Since I live so close to this clinic, I thought it might be a good match, but I'm having second thoughts.

Both physicians were incredibly thorough and knowledgeable. They took the time to understand my situation, explain my options, and help me determine the best path forward. I was especially grateful for their thoughtful, interdisciplinary approach and their willingness to collaborate to create an integrated treatment plan that worked for me. Unfortunately, the professionalism and compassion demonstrated by the providers were not consistently reflected by some members of the front-office staff. While checking out, I witnessed a staff member speak very rudely to an elderly patient who was understandably confused about why her insurance had not covered her procedure. The staff member repeatedly announced the patient's $800 balance loudly enough for everyone in the area to hear. When the woman asked for an explanation, she was abruptly told to either pay or step aside. The patient had a bandage covering her ear and was also seeking information about the cost of reconstructive ear surgery. She was clearly navigating a vulnerable and stressful situation, yet she was treated with little empathy, patience, or sensitivity. The interaction was uncomfortable to witness and raised serious concerns about professionalism and the respectful handling of patients' private financial information. People come to a medical practice expecting care, compassion, discretion, and dignity--not to be berated, embarrassed, or pushed aside. Front-office staff are an important part of the patient experience, and anyone interacting with patients should be able to do so with patience and respect, particularly when someone is elderly, vulnerable, or confused about complex medical expenses. Dr. Bulengo and Dr. Skupsky provided truly exceptional care, and I remain very grateful to them. I sincerely hope the practice addresses this front-office behavior so that every aspect of the patient experience reflects the same high standard demonstrated by its excellent medical providers.

Be aware that your skin will get worse before it gets better so trust the process! I wear an N95 at work so my skin sometimes gets worse but I know over time these peels and having a good regimen with skin reality brand will clear it all up! I thought they were respectful, patient, and educational. But because of the front office staff, I won't be returning. I was explicitly told at the appointment that I would be emailed and updated in the patient portal if there was nothing significant to report, but would be called if the biopsy results showed cancer and/or a need to follow up asap. Then I got a voicemail on a Friday, 35 minutes before they close for the weekend and of course they don't leave details in the message beyond "we have your biopsy results, please call back." Any reasonable person would be concerned or anxious at this and the inability to contact the office for multiple days following. Turns out my results were not concerning and of course I'm relieved now. But I spent a weekend miserable and scared as various cancers have come up in my family (which their team knew about and it was in my chart). I provided feedback on the phone to the front office staff just now, and I kept it incredibly calm and polite while requesting their team consider operating differently so as not to leave patients worried unnecessarily. The staff member's response was literally "okay, thanks for the feedback, have a good day." The lack of basic human empathy is unacceptable when you're in healthcare, especially when someone has come in specifically for biopsies because they have concerns about cancer.

He knew I'm scheduled for a knee replacement in a less than a month and can't have open sores. I would have had to wait 3 months post op for MOHS because of a risk of infection getting to the knee surgery site. Being in health care myself, I know that only TRUE HEALERS would do what he did for me. When he received the biopsy results he even texted me not to worry, the bad cells were not deep, and I went into the weekend with much less anxiety. Today he did the MOHS surgery and was very detailed in his description of a possible small scar, my options and the safest option.
