BEWARE SAVE YOUR MONEY RUN When you politely ask them to fix mistakes you find during the process they are very rude. Like if they aren't all rounded evenly and you ask them to adjust a couple so they are they blame your nail shape. Terrible customer service. read more

I haven't yet found my favorite nail salon in the city and have been trying various locations. Today I came across VWC which only charged $40 for a gel mani and pedi. Most locations will charge $5-10 to take off existing gel, but VWC nails does not. They are located right next to the diner with ample parking spots which is nice for the city! No meters, no paid parking, no driving around aimlessly trying to park. The salon is very large and spacious and they have a lot of different selections of color to choose from. The woman Connie was very friendly and efficient. Due to the color being on the lighter side she did 3 coats without even having to ask! In addition, the massage was so nice. To begin there have been times I've had exceptional service at VWC Nails but not during my recent visit. The nail technician was rushed, rough and the final result was a sloppy. The business does not offer spa like pedicures so I most certainly wasn't expecting a luxurious treatment , I merely expected the technician to do a basic pedicure (soak my feet, cut and shape my toes nails, push the cuticles back and cut the cuticles if needed, remove calluses if needed, buff the nails and polish the nails) She used the cuticle pusher to touch each nail , yes just touched the nail but she didn't actually push the cuticles. She picked up the buffer then decided not to use it, she nipped my cuticles numerous times while roughly nipping my cuticles and talking to her coworkers, she sloppily applied the polish then had me sit under the dryer. While under the dryer she came over and applied the final coat ... and got nail polish on my Birkenstocks then told me the pedicure was $25. I gave her $30 and she walked away. I called her back and asked her where is my change and she said "I thought that was the tip ." I never have a problem tipping , even for mediocre service , but to assume you're getting a 20% tip for the service she rendered was laughable. I won't say I'll never go back to VWC but I can say with absolute certainty I will not let that technician do my pedicure again read more

I waited two days to write this review because I did not want to post in anger. That said, I will NEVER set foot in VWC Nails again. I get the sense that they don't value clients of color in the same way that they value White clientele, so me and my 30% gratuity heart will take our valuable dollars elsewhere. The pros: Yuan (pronounced "Wan") is reasonably talented at the art of the mani pedi. Aside from one tiny missed spot of polish on the side of my nail and an uneven cuticle, I have been satisfied with her services. The cons: On Wednesday, Yuan saw it fit to 1.) allow a boisterous White male patron to interrupt my nail appointment, 2.) stop painting my nails completely to talk to said patron's friend on the phone for a minute, and 3.) return to my nails without apology after she ended the phone call. Moreover, Yuan thought it reasonable to giggle and laugh with said patron after I paid for my services but before I returned with my gratuity for her. She happily entertained him after witnessing him calling me "sweetheart," "honey," "mulatto," and telling me that he was Blacker than I will ever be because he is Sicilian. Yuan had no respect for my time, my space, or my dignity as a woman and person of color. She only offered a half-apology after I noted my distaste while checking out. VWC can keep their low-key and high-key racist and misogynistic client roster. I'll gladly head elsewhere and pay for excellent service! read more

This was the most unprofessional nail salon I've ever been to the "manager" was rude and got upset everytime I asked him to do something like clip my cuticles or file my nails, how can you charge me extra but complain about doing so... it should automatically come with the service before even beginning my nails. He stopped doing my nails and told me to pay and leave with only tips on my nails and no acrylic nor polish. He was aggressive when I told him to take my nails off and he didn't use any type of care when handling my nails while taking them off, I'm still stuck with nail tips partially drilled in my nail. Please do not go here they are rude everyone looked at me like I was crazy for asking for a service that I'm suing $50 for. Never again most of these salons are unprofessional and un trained, better off learning to do them yourself. read more

This was my first time going to this salon and it was absolutely horrible, I got a dip manicure and just polish on my toes. First off the male that was working on me was more concerned about getting more appointments than working on my nails. I asked for a "square" shape and he told me that he couldn't because my nails were to short (which I never heard of) I don't know the name of the man that worked on my nails and toes but he had glasses. He was in such a rush to get to the next person he cut my finger from filing to hard. I had also asked him to get a speck off my nail before he went further and he got an attitude with me and told me he wasn't done. He filed my nails down so much that the skin under my nails actually hurts. He also was very sloppy with the dip powder and every time he would dip my finger he would touch my nail to make sure the dip would stick (now I've gotten dip many of times and no one has ever did that) also the base coat and all the other coats he was using looked very old. Now normally after they get the dip on they tell you to wash your hands, he never told me to wash my hands in fact he brought me over to the pedicure chair with the dip powder still all over my fingers. He also made me match the color for my toes. Now I have never been told that I have to match the color myself. Every place that I ever went to they matched my nails and toes for me. This place was disgusting, my mom was also getting a pedicure and when the woman took the towel off her leg there was a long black hair. This places deserves to be shut down. It is so gross and the service is the absolute worst service I have ever gotten. I will NEVER return here again. read more

I have gone to this nail salon twice before and had a decent experience. The third time turned me off from ever returning. The service was awful, they spent no time on my nails and dip polish. At the end the color was inconsistent from nail to nail. Some of the nails were rounded, others squared. When I asked about an additional coat, they said no. I had previously come in here for my boys' haircuts once before and had good results. It's close to home so that was a big plus for me. Today we went in and there was only one lady working. My younger son went first. I told her what I wanted and she called me up to look once she was done. I didn't like how his cut looked. She did not know how to fade and her shape up was horrible. My husband could do a better job than this. So I asked her to cut more off the top because it looked like he had a toupee on. She said ok and went to work. She called me up to take a look. It looked much better. She had to rinse out a customer first so we went to sit down. I had a closer look at my son's hair and it was patchy and uneven. His front was not straight and I wanted her to fix it. There was no way I was going to let her cut my other son's hair! I asked her if she could straighten out the front part. She sat him down and asked me where. I told her where EXACTLY, pointed and everything. She said it looks good and if she go any higher it would look funny and all the kids will laugh at him. Seriously??? There were a few customers who were listening in. I asked her again to just fix it. She asked me in a agitated tone "where?" She even went as far as handing over the cutter and saying you do it then. WTH. All I wanted was for her to straighten the front and she would not do what I asked. I could have easily made a scene and insulted her but I did not. I could understand where she's coming from and I'm not a professional hair stylist but if a customer is not happy, is not your job to satisfy them? I will never come back here again. She should not be cutting mens' or boys' hair if that is not her specialty. *nothing against the nail salon since I haven't had my nails done there.
