I always see this nail salon and I was a little hesitant about going here because of the reviews on yelp. Yesterday, I had some extra time and decided to get a regular manicure - $10 (I should have gotten a pedi too cause it was $25 for mani/pedi Monday-Wednesday) I chose a nude taupe shade and I asked the guy that was helping me to remove my gel polish (extra $5) He worked really quick but the paint job was not sloppy at all. My only complaint was how much cuticles he clipped off. It irritated my skin afterwards too. But it wasnt too bad. The paint job was nice but the top coat was a little sloppy. Seemed like he was in a rush at the end and some of the top coat went on the sides of my skin on each finger. Overall, this place is not bad at all for a regular manicure. read more

Hello! Just an update! I still patronize this business and the staff and owner are always nice and pleasant. They have Dip powder now for nails and I get that every time I go. I go to Sandy and my BFF goes to Blue. Great service, highly recommend. Only thing: They just started doing Dip for approx. 5 months now, they are still expanding their colours; but if you get nail gel that is great also. Horrible experience this past Thursday. Went in for acrylic and pedicure for an out of state wedding. Woman put acrylic so thick on nails it fused to my skin. She tried to file the acrylic off my skin and cut me several times, once to the point we had to stop doing my nails. I asked a bandaid and she gave me a napkin and put oil on it. Nail polish was so thick when I went to dry under air dryer nail polish bubbled. I went in at noon and went to put my shoes on at 3:37 and the nail polish smooshed. The nails were crooked as well. You might ask why I even stayed, or I should have stopped the woman but I had no other option because I had to leave as soon as I was done to go out of state for the wedding I was a bridesmaid in. I had to have something which was better than nothing for the professional photos that were to be taken. I spoke to manager who said I could come in when I got back to fix it. I took plenty of pictures to show the job was done poorly from the beginning. I got back last night from out of state and went in today to ask to set up appointment since I had to work today. One nail cracked and broke off as well, but leaving my real nail intact. I stated several times I had to go to work but the workers just kept saying we can fix it. What do you need, polish fixed? It was back and forth like this until they got the manager on the phone. I stated I should not have to repay because job was done poorly the day it was done. The workers said I could have everything done free but I had to do it today. If I made an appointment I would have to pay. Such poor customer service skills. I finally spoke to the manager for the second time, and she told me on the phone I could most definitely come in Friday and not have to pay; very contradicting to what the workers were saying. The woman who had done my nails was there and said I bled because I have sensitive nails and with all the talking I did I could have had my nails redone, which at that point I asked her to please stop talking to me. Another worker said come Friday and took her hands and waved me out of the salon. I asked for her name and she did not give it to me. I stated I wasn't trying to be rude, I was not cursing, and it was rude to treat someone who ending up having a poor service done and who paid full price even after the nails being done how they were. I asked them if they were a customer and had this service, pulling the photos out, that they would provably want them redone too. I left feeling very overwhelmed. I should be able to give no stars!!! I am soooo upset right now. I'm literally SICK. This is my second time coming here for my eyebrows. The first time was good so I returned a second time. I am livid. When I went in the back for my eyebrows, I told the lady "just a clean up, I like them thick" she said ok. My eyebrows are super thin. The thinnest I've had them probably since 2004, when I was 15. When I looked in the mirror, my heart dropped to my stomach. I said nooooooo. She said "what? I cleaned them up" I said nooooo this was no cleanup these are way too thin. Oh and this was all after she insulted me saying I look like a man because I didn't want her to wax my top lip which IS NOT hairy by the way (seriously). When I went out front to the guy who takes the money, I told him I was unhappy and he basically kicked me out. I said wow could I have an apology or something. I just wanted to feel some empathy. I told him it will take a month for my eyebrows to grow back. No empathy, no apology. They made me feel like I was wrong for being unhappy. Never again!! I hate a business who isn't empathetic to the customer and I was not rude at all. The best nail salon I've been too yet! They are very friendly! I go every 2 weeks! It don't matter which nail technician does your nails they all do they perfectly! My favorite is Peter! They take their time and it's well work the money. I was trying to find a good salon and I was so disappointed with all the other shops I visited in the area. First time I went and got a French gel color manicure done well by one of the ladies. This is why I gave one star and not zero. I am a nice person, patient, and not cheap. I never speak up unless I feel it's right, and when there is injustice I refuse to be a doormat. Today I went back for a second time and got a mani pedi. The pedi was satisfactory. The manicure was disgusting. It was a gel manicure, and when it was done the tips of my nails looked like gobs. Color was on my cuticle. I pointed it out and she tried to use a file to remove the mistakes. Even on my cuticles, which became raw by the time I left, which was 40 minutes after I should have been done. After one attempt at fixing, nothing changed and I pointed it out again. She tried but couldn't fix them. It was as if she was blind and expected me to be also and then just pay for it. I started to get antsy because I felt like now my time is being wasted, and she kept filing on my raw nails and cuticles so I finally threw my hands up (not literally) and said I have to go. I said quietly that this looks bad, I do not want to pay for it. I pointed out where there was color on my skin still and globs where they shouldn't be (after 3 attempts at fixing already) and she called over the owner and walked away. She did not apologize. At this time I explained and showed my nails and the owner, an older man, he said that I could come in tomorrow to get them fixed no charge, but that I had to pay for the manicure today. I wondered if he thought that I was retarded and if other people readily pay for having their nails ruined. I said that I do not have time to come back, that it is not "no charge" if I am paying and coming in twice for something that should only be once. I value my free time. He then offered a free future manicure but said I still have to pay today. I lied and said I am not from this area. He looked at my hands and said he could remove the paint in 5 minutes. I said so I'm going to be paying to walk out of here with raw, filed down, paintless nails? After sitting here for 2 hours? He got up and came back with the generous offer to have $5 taken off. I said I will not pay for something that looks unsightly. I said I would pay for the pedi because it's fine. But my nails look terrible. He agreed with that. I spent 20 there on an experience that should have cost their business money instead. My nails looked better going in. Logic dictates that your facility messed up. Another thing I noted is the fact that I was forced to speak up and embarrass the man and the girl who did my nails. If he had just given in due to the undeniable, I would not have said as much as I did. Customers were looking and the employees were giving me dirty looks. Sorry to speak up against your friend or family member, ladies...but she messed up my hands. They looked better before I went in there. Instead of looking at me with scorn for being unsatisfied, you could have better policies for customers who legitimately got their nails ruined...like not try to make them pay for it...which would result in less spectacles like this one. I dislike the vibe I get from this place I got a regular manicure from here and the polish that I had barely shows it just shines a little bit more than a base coat would ( I thought it was going to be pink). So I asked the lady that was doing my nails could she add another coat and she said no! She said that natural is beautiful. If I wanted natural I would not get my nails done. While I was drying my nails I asked for the spray and the lady said and I quote "later." Um okay. Yeah I do not recommend this place to get nails done regularly. They do this thing where if you get something done 10 times you get the 11th time free so I will probably come back 10 more times no more than that. By the way I'm young so that's probably why they were acting like that towards me, others were seemed to be treated differently. I am 17 but I look like I am 15 lol. I am going to say that I love the way they do my nails. I have been going to this place faithfully since moving into the south philly area. The only reason this place did not get five stars from me is because I have experienced two times going there that my eyebrows have been left burnt because their wax is way too hot. The first time the girl did not even say anything, I did not realize until I got home trying to figure out why my eyebrows were still burning. The second occasion I was just finished all together.
