Wow what an experience. Everything is very precisely organized and arranged for this culinary extravaganza.
You get to dine in a private island. A boat will take you there, make sure you are there in time. The staff are very friendly and they line up each time you enter or exit the boat. Upon boarding, we were given our designated table number, and seated beside another couple. A wonderful platter of bites was presented to us, which we enjoyed during the hour long trip to the island.
Ox salami, smoked almonds, a mustard pate, a pickle and some aged cheese. You can order drinks to accompany the snacks.
Upon arriving at the island, the restaurant staff all lined up to welcome us. It was very dark outside and lanterns lit the way around to the dining area. We were given an introduction to the island but this was in Dutch. Not an issue and it's the language of the land- enjoy the breathtaking views.
Entering the cavernous restaurant, you'll be seated at your table. The menu of the day is on the table, and the feasting begins! We had a six course meal, and a delicious alternative of salsify instead of pork. Each course was delicate and delicious. I enjoyed the non-alcoholic pairing with my meal, and this is an absolute first for me. Why can't more restaurants offer such wonderful home-made drinks selections; kefir, smoked strawberry, and even a savory celery based drink. Yum!
The pictures will elaborate what I are.
This experience was one of a kind and I give it my highest recommendation. You simply HAVE to do this if you possibly can. read more
