I felt like I was shopping with a good friend. She was happy to help not just me, but other customers shopping as well. All the girls working that night were very friendly! I know how hard retail can be, being a manager of a retail store myself. I love getting nice reviews about my hard work. It makes the stressful days pay off! Worst experience ever with the cashier this afternoon. We've been customers of this store for years…read moreand have never been treated as carelessly as we were today. Don't get me wrong, the salesman was very helpful pulling sizes and giving great advice. The tailor was also knowledgeable and did a good and was friendly. Things however went quickly south when we got to the cashier to pay. To say that the young woman at the register was rude as an understatement. There was not only a lack of basic retail service skills, but the young woman's attitude was borderline hostile. Basic questions about the breakdown of the charges and any discounts we might be able to take advantage of were met with rolled eyes, huffing, and puffing...at one point she literally walked away and starting ringing up another customer! I've worked retail and know it's a tough job, but this is NOT who you behave with customers, especially when we were nothing but courteous. K&G, do better with vetting, hiring, and training your staff! This was absolutely ridiculous. I'm angry that I had to interact with this person and your company should be ashamed to employ someone like that.

Time for an update because on my recent visit I bought a pair of copper metallic "cowboy" boots…read more The style is called the Annie and I love them! Sean was a very helpful and attentive salesman. He let me know this particular style ran big and surmised that the boots that would fit me would be a half size smaller than usual. He was right. They didn't have the copper color in stock but once I ascertained my correct size and fit, Sean ordered them for me. They arrived at my door in just a few short days. I have been wearing them around the house for the past two days but honestly, they are extremely comfortable. It seems no break-in period needed as is the case with some boots in general and some western boots in particular. Tecovas will shine/polish the boots for free any time you're in the store. They also will etch them for free with my initials or another of their designs if I so desire. The journey is not in on this option yet. They also offer to stretch them for you if they need it. Fortunately mine do not. I am thrilled with my new boots. How many pairs of western style boots are too much? I don't know the answer to that yet. ;-) Thank you Sean and Tecovas.

And I say this as a (shame shame) very experienced Anthro shopper. Not once but twice when I have had a problem getting a price adjustment or finding something wrong with an item, they have quickly and apologetically set it straight, even though I hadn't bought either of those items at their store. They are chatty without being overwhelming, and seem to genuinely enjoy their jobs. The store itself is not as large as the one downtown, but is probably equal in size to the Cambridge location. It has a comfortable feel, and the sale room is nicely separated, which is good for when mayhem hits it. They do not, however, carry the full line of shoes, so just keep that in mind for your shopping. As a past Anthro employee, I can say that I truly appreciate the overall experience each store offers. Of all the Anthros is the area, I think this particular store's staff is the most welcoming, least pretentious, and the most enthusiastic. Even though Dedham isn't exactly close to my house, I will continue to plan little out of the way jaunts just to visit this store.

I was able to snag a new pair of OnClouds (OnCloud X3) for $90 & the same style + color is still full price at Nordstrom for $150. Also, many nice clothing brands like Levi, Joe's Jeans, TopShop, Naked Wardrobe, Good American, AGOLDE, etc can be found here. On top of that, the staff here never offer to help or greet us when we come in. As prior reviews state, it comes off as standoffish and snotty. We did notice some patterns of their staff in assisting certain demographics... but not us. Definitely not coming back here. Ann Taylor corporate definitely needs to revamp their training for their store associates.
