Spanish budget airline that charges for a cary-on. You are allowed one personal item though. The seats have barely any leg room. If you're not a big person, you'll have just a little more than enough. But if you have long-ish legs, you will not fit. This airline has the least amount of leg room that I've ever seen. There's also nowhere to charge your devices, and the seats don't recline either. But for the price, I would fly again for a short connecting flight only next time we come back to Spain.
Beware of rude abusive agents who will try to humiliate and harass you, and try to charge excessive unreasonable fees for travelling with small soft-case musician instruments which all other airlines allow as carry-on luggage and usually without any extra charge. I've been traveling around the world with my Strandberg guitar (soft bag) since 2023, it is very small and specifically designed to fit horizontally across overhead bins on standard commercial jets, and on fuller flights it can easily slide on top of roller bags or jackets. On June 2nd 2026, I was flying Alicante-Barcelona-Nice with Vueling (first time ever, and I am sure it's the last time!), prior to the trip I did some research and pre-purchased a carry-on allowance for an extra item (the guitar) for 40 Euros. While boarding in Alicante I was shouted at by a Vueling agent "You are not going to fly with this thing today!"... That was an unexpected and scary beginning... She shouted "It's over the allowed dimensions! You have to buy a box to fit it in, pack it, pay for extra checked-in luggage, so you can't fly now".... Very politely I asked her if there were any other options, she said "You could have purchased a full extra seat for the guitar in advance, but now it is not possible as the flight is full".... Not boarding the flight would ruin my plans, as I was asking her if there is anything that could be done - and eventually she said "Yeah, ok, you can purchase "an extra seat" now, for 110 Euros, but you'll not have any seat, you'll have to carry it on your laps". Of course at this point I would have agreed for any options, so I paid 110 Euro requested by her (on top of previously paid 40E) to board the flight. She also said "But while boarding in Barcelona you will have the same problem again" - and she was wrong - an agent in Barcelona checked that I had a pre-purchased carry-on item for 40 Euro and allowed me to board without any problem. The biggest issue here was that the agent in Alicante used her way of psychological pressure ("You are not going to fly today!") to make the passenger (myself) pretty much devastated and ready for anything, and later she "softened up" and "allowed" to board after charging the maximum fee she was able to charge... If it really was "the company policy", then the 2nd agent in Barcelona would have try to charge me extra fee as well, but as it did not happen - this incident had a completely personal touch, it depended on the mood of an agent, and her desire to display her powers, harass and humiliate the passengers and charge for extra money. Trying to resolve this issue with Vueling support later did not result in any refunds. I will never be flying Vueling again, and will be spreading the word about my bad experience as much as I can. On a separate note, if you are flying in or through the US, federal regulations (FAA / 49 U.S.C. 41724) mandate that airlines must allow small musical instruments in the cabin as carry-on items if there is available overhead space at the time of boarding.
Horrible Experience. Me and my family were flying from Barcelona to London and they did not let check our bags because "checking had closed." This was an hour before our flight so it was very odd to us to close checking an hour before the flight and the lady was very hostile towards us not being helpful at all. We have now missed our flight and cannot get on another until tomorrow. We also spent $450 on checked bags and did not get that money back. After this diabolical, we checked the policy and the latest you can check in to your flight is 40 minutes and against we were there an hour early. For our new flights we ended up having to continue to use Vueling and I will say it was much more better this time we made our flight, I am not sure if this is a company issue or just the person we were originally working with.
Definitely a budget airline! Took a flight from Basel to Barcelona and service in Basel excellent, including their wheelchair assistance. The flight was only slightly delayed but totally packed flight! There was a limit on carry on of 10 kg and they were very strict with this. Also strict liquid limits, my 3.8 oz lotion was confiscated. There were no free drink or food options...only pay ones. But on their last flight of the day, you can get 50% discount. Seats are all small and do not recline and there is no entertainment. Luckily we only needed to fly this airline once on this trip!
Vueling is a low-cost Spanish airline based in Barcelona; I flew with Vueling for the first time from Manchester in August 2024. Vueling's main base is at Barcelona-El Prat, which is the Airport that I flew to on my recent trip although they serve many cities and countries around Europe, even reaching into Africa. My experience with Vueling wasn't too great - I found the booking process to be overly complicated via both their app and website - just because they're a low-cost airline doesn't mean they have to make cutbacks to the website too. My seat reservations were changed multiple times from the point of booking to actually arriving and checking in at the Airport - I was also denied the chance to change my seat reservations, even at an extra fee. We travelled as a group of three, and as the seats are in rows of three, it would have been perfectly straightforward to put us all together but it didn't work out that way. To make matters even worse - the group next to me was a family of three, and was in the same situation where the father was separate from his partner and child, with seat switching not possible, I had to put up with a misbehaving child next to me for the entire flight who kept going into my space and even head-butted me. I understand the Airline can't be responsible for other passengers' behaviours but surely to split up a group for no reason makes no sense. I had to request special assistance for a member of my travelling party - it was possible to add this during the booking process but again there was no confirmation of this - a few days after booking I attempted to use their chatbot to get a confirmation of this and I found it next to impossible to speak to a human, I later did receive an email in Spanish which related to the assistance, but this appeared to be impersonal and an automated reply. I did have a small delay waiting to board the flight and I was unhappy with the level of information provided by the Airline regarding why this delay was taking place and how long I'd expect to wait, so the boarding gates were uncomfortable and crowded. The Airport facilities at Manchester were very poor as they used Terminal 3 at the time of my flight. However, it is positive to hear that they are relocating to the newly renovated Terminal 2 in November. WiFi is available in-flight as well as a basic selection of food and drink, not really much for gluten-free, but that's fine for a short flight. I wouldn't use Vueling again if I had an alternative, mainly due to the poor customer service, difficulty making the flight reservations via both the website and app and lack of information provided to passengers. 2*
I flew Iberian airlines 10 years ago and remembered not have a good experience. I must have had severe amnesia because I foolishly booked a flight with Iberian Airlines. Thinking that after 10 years that the service would have improved. I was sorely mistaken. There was absolutely no human to speak with and calling the help desk was useless. The delay was over 12 hours and counting. I'm writing this review as I am waiting. I took a flight from Naples with a 2 hour layover in Barcelona. As soon as I left the airport, the airport screen stated at 12 noon that the flight was delayed until 22:20 pm. I was given no voucher or accommodation. I am writing this review at 1 am. Over 12 hours after the flight was suppose to leave. There was no representative from Iberian airlines. It is nearly impossible to speak to a customer representative. Many of the passengers attempted to contact Iberian Airlines with no success. I have been there for over 13 hours and all during this time, I have had zero updates about the status of the flight. No text messages, no emails, no calls, no customer relations person giving updates Nothing My suggestion to future customers DO NOT FLY WITY IBERIAN AIRLINES I have flown twice with them and have regretted it. Save yourself the frustrating and unnecessary stress of looking at a monitor that changes every hour stating the new time for departure is 90-120 minutes away, only to have this updated with a new time 1-2 hours latter If I could give a negative number, this airline would definitely deserve it I can not emphasize Please DO NOT FLY WITH IBERIAN AIRLINES You will thank yourself
Old, dirty plane. Delayed. Surly, rude stews, one of which accused me of accosting her when she backed into my arm with her food cart. The fully booked A-320 was old and dirty. Beverage service is a joke on a 2 hour flight. Bus from the plane to the terminal in Barcelona, no boarding ramp. They did, however, allow several pounds of overweight luggage.

Zero stars!!! The customer service desk in Barcelona is absolutely awful. They had us sit for two hours waiting to get a ticket so we wouldn't find another airline and as soon as the boarding time came close they told us the tickets weren't available. This is the worst airline experience I have ever had in my entire life and I have been traveling for over 30 years! We lost a full day in Menorca because of the horrible service. read more

"Expectation is the mother of all frustration." - Antonio Banderas In between my British Airways flights, I caught Vueling, an economy airlines based in Spain. I ignored the overall bad reviews and took a chance with the low fare and ¡Hoy! Spanish Movie Star flight schedule;) Like Antonio said I had little expectations boarding my flight. Yet, I found Vueling exceeding what the reviews said. My flight from Paris (CDG) to Barcelona (BCN) via Airbus. Flight crew was friendly and professional. And the flight itself was smooth with no delays. Solid 4-Stars! In the end, I'd fly Vueling again with no hesitation. Just don't expect Boujee as it's simply a "puddle jumper" to get from one European country to the next. To me, it was a perfect choice for short travel in between my long British Airways intercontinental flights. Te Amo;) read more

Well, during this difficult time globally, it's hard to write a negative review for a company. But Vueling has made it easier for me. We booked a short flight from Venice to Barcelona a while ago, way before the Coronavirus was a threat to anyone. So when this virus spread across the world rapidly, out first thought is perhaps we need to cancel. But as weeks passed, the situation in Europe have gotten worse. Both countries: Italy and Spain are on lockdown. Plus, our flight from Los Angeles to Europe was cancelled by the airline, and the government of Spain has aggressively advise against flying unless it's absolutely necessary. With all these factors in place, Vueling Airlines still claims our booked flight is on schedule. On top of that, their website is confusing. It does not allow ticketholders to change a booking, nor allow us to request a refund to original form of payment. I took it to their Facebook page and learned there are A LOT of very upset customers in the same boat. Some who said even 2 days before the scheduled flight into Italy, their webpage still says it's on time, even though the entire country is on lockdown. The consensus is Vueling is playing tricks, purposely not canceling any flights so they would not have to refund any money, hoping the customer will cancel and lose out. Also, they only offer vouchers that needs to be used by the end of 2020, which apparently is not allowed accordng to Spain's Aviation Agency (see photo) Needless to say, no one that's been given the runaround by this airline holding the funds will be flying with them, ever. Note: This review is dated March 24, 2020. For people reading this far into the future, we're going through the Coronavirus that's affecting the entire globe. read more

Booked a short one-way flight from Barcelona to Bilbao. Our incompetent pilot made TWO botched attempts at landing and was unable to do, blaming the weather. However, according to arrivals data from the Bilbao airport, several other flights landed just fine within a few minutes of when our flight's incompetent or impaired pilot could not do so. I think the BIO Tower wisely refused to give him a THIRD try at endangering the lives of passengers and he had to turn the plane around and return back to BCN. I then had to take a grueling 7 hr bus ride to get to Bilbao 9.5 hrs later than scheduled. I emailed Vueling demanding a refund, and got an automated reply stating, "We confirm that we have received your message. We have taken note of your comments and we have forwarded them to the relevant department to take the appropriate measures." It's been a MONTH since then and no other response. I tried calling their "Customer Service" line in Spain -- they have NO toll-free or USA phone number, so it will cost you -- only to get endlessly looped in their automated phone system multiple times, or told "Please hold for an agent." and then their system would immediately drop the call. Reading other reviews here and elsewhere, it is apparently Vueling's policy to simply play dead and keep your money. read more
We already had one bad experience in Vegas, so whenever any flight announces that flight is 30 Minutes late or 1 hr late, we get scared easily whether it will fly or not. And the thing with budget airlines is they don't care much I guess. We had a flight with Vueling VY6106 Barcelona to Rome at 6:20 PM. We reached the terminal, did security and were standing in the boarding line. The flight was 2 hrs. Late and I was scared about the same outcome. And here they announced, the flight is canceled. Run to the main counter, there I feel like I am in some sort of competition, if I do not reach on time, I won't get the next day flight and that's true. You have to be in the line ahead then others, otherwise chances are you won't get the same/next day flight. We were on the Europe tour and our Rome itinerary was fixed and the next cities (Venice-Florence-Pisa and 3 more), every city's itinerary was connected. We even told them at the counter that gives me any flight, but they were no help. Our next day in Rome got wasted completely. Though they provided hotel accommodation and meals, that's not what I wanted (between hotel was 60 Km from the airport, it took 1 hour, but it was good and food was also good, so no complaint in that). Horrible experience with Vueling, I know it's the case with all the airlines and no one is 100% perfect but at least give us the reason. They just said technical glitch and that's it. They gave the next day noon VY 6104 flight and we reached our Airbnb in Rome at 5 pm. ( I am still in touch with those sites who says " file claim with us and we 'll help you) The flight was okay. Leg space was okay too. I am 5'10". We ordered in-flight food. The price was really low considering it's in an air meal. We ordered the club sandwich and chicken rice. Food was okay, anyway your taste buds do not work 100% so high in the air. read more

Vueling = Crap There are things we expect from a low-cost airline... small seats, added costs for luggage, added costs for carry-ons, added costs to reserve a seat, added costs for food and drinks on-board, etc. These are things we expect in exchange for low airfares and good routes. What we DON'T expect are spectacularly rude staff, and malfunctioning check-in equipment that leads to Vueling-caused colossally long lines served by one single arrendant. I don't know what events in life lead a person down the path to working for Vueling Airlines -- but it must some kind of horrific descent into hell. Needless to say, the journey ends in the desparate sadness of being the singe attendant to a line of more than 200 unhappy people. read more
We took Vueling to Tenerife today. Within the terminal, they didn't tell us the gate number until 7 minutes before boarding, talk about cutting it close. We were on an Airbus A320 and they bused us there on the tarmac. The plane was pretty clean, and the seats, although not reclinable, were comfy. Flight attendants were nice and helped people get on. read more

I like Vueling (Vueling), a very good lowcost airline in Europe! We flew in May 2019 twice - from Paris to Barcelona and from Barcelona to Majorca and both times we were satisfied. What you need to know about them? How to buy tickets for Vueling. You can through the application Skyscanner or Vueling (or their website). Their website really slows down, but you need to wait, because the desktop version has many features that are not in the mobile application. Staff. the staff is friendly, if at the airport you don't manage to do something yourself, they immediately help. Luggage. Here is what is written on their website: and further: and finally: However, they do not find fault if the weight of the luggage is more than 10 kg, I had 14 kg and they did not check. They have 3 types of tariff - Basic, Optima, Timeflex. We took two tariffs, as my wife had two baggage - hand luggage and a bag of 20 kg (shopping in paris and barcelona), and I only have hand luggage. I bought myself a Basic fare (hand baggage 10 kg) + paid extra for choosing a seat (to sit next to my wife), and I took Optima to my wife (hand baggage 10 kg + checked baggage 25 kg + choice of seat). After payment, the confirmation arrived and the boarding tickets immediately arrived. They can be printed, but you can also not print, you can simply register through the QR code on the phone, which we did. The ticket shows how to fold it, everything is very simple and convenient. Seat selection. The cost of choosing a seat depends on a number of: 21-25 rows - 4 euros. 16-20 rows - 5 euros. 11-15 rows - 6 euros. 10 row - 14 euros (20% more space here). Front rows (5-9 rows) - 9 euros. Space Plus (More space and priority landing - 2, 3, 4 rows) - 17 euros. Space One (More space (+ 20%) and priority landing - only 1 row 1 st) - 21 euros. I paid extra for 8-15 places, in terms of saving these are the best places. The choice of Basic fare + seat extra charge was cheaper than buying Optima tariff. Therefore, if you do not have large luggage, choose this rate. The accuracy of the flight. Both times that we flew this airline, the flights were on time. Food. Both times we flew for short distances, so there was no power. Advice - if you are hungry, buy yourself a meal in advance at the supermarket, as the airports are more expensive. If you don't care about money, you can eat at the airport or on board Vueling. Cons of the airline. 1 - the seats do not recline, because of this, that it takes up space, because the airline simply rammed a lot of seats in the cabin. But! My legs are comfortable (I have a height of 175 cm, but there were people in the salon and they were 180-185 meters tall and they were clearly not uncomfortable). Since the flights are short - 1-2 hours, this does not cause discomfort, in extreme cases, you can walk through the cabin. 2 - when buying tickets of two different fares, like with us (Basic + Optima), you cannot choose two fares at once, you must first buy a ticket for one fare, because again find the same flight and buy a ticket for it. And what if there are only a few tickets left on this flight and everyone wants to buy it? Then one of you will fly (who already bought a ticket), and the other can stay. Therefore, it is necessary to do all this very quickly, within 1-2 minutes. It is best to import all of your data and your partner / friend / wife to their website, then the program itself adds it. Here is such a minus for this application, by the way on their website the same problem. Summary - if you want to choose a low-cost airline in Europe, choose Vueling. read more
