Fantastic company. Talking to a coworker who needs radon reduction, and I recommended VSI. Got me to thinking I never reviewed them so here I am. Took our radon reading from 16 to .8 They installed the mitigation system in 2009, and other than needing a new fan after 10 years, it has run perfectly. Zero issues. When I did call for service I seem to recall it was done within 48 hours. The overall system is very simply and I don't even notice it. They core a few opening into your slab, plumb the piping to the outside of your house, and turn on the fan. My fan is in my garage attic. When I am in the attic I do not hear the fan. It is silent. We had VSI work on our basement back in August. They installed a fan and sealed our sump pump which had a new $1200 back up sump pump put in months earlier. This spring our power went out for the first time since the back up pump was put in and it didn't go on. We had flooding and thousands of dollars worth of damage. When we had the plumber out to fix the back up, he told us the rod with the float was bent. So either the other plumber who installed the new pump bent it, or VSI did when they sealed the sump. If you have them out, be sure to test your sump before they leave. We sure wish we had. read more

They installed system before I bought the house as inspection showed high levels of radon. Months later I was doing something in crawl space and found out that they removed all insulation on their pipe's way and never install it back. System itself looks ok. Installation quality is poor as you need to finish it by yourself. read more

I was quoted $1750 on the phone. I had to apply permit by myself. On the day job is scheduled, they checked crawl space and said I gave wrong size, which I gave the room size on top of crawl space but there is actually another room. They wanted $200 more. I agreed it as I assume that is extra work. Once job is completed, I found out the extra work is to roll more plastic to cover the area. I complained extra charge is too high and no clear price quote was given at proposal. The owner started screaming on the phone that if I don't pay extra, they will rip the system off and repeatedly gave F-word. I had never dealt with contractors been so rude and tricky on pricing. They could come out and measure and give exact quote, instead of up-charging me at job site when I have no choice. read more

This company was recommended by my mother's real estate agent. Parents home was built in 1867, has field stone and concrete basement with additional dirt floor crawl spaces. Radon level high in basement but not in living spaces. (basement is not a living space, nor suitable for occupancy). The technicians came out, treated my mother's home respectfully and did a thorough examination of the space. I received a very complete report in a very timely manner. The location is not one in which you can "depressurize" I would recommend them to anyone needing an evaluation. read more
