You have lost three good dinner orders at least three times in the past month all because your phone doesn't work, and asks for an access code, or it just rings. Sundays seem to be particularly problematic. If you want to be closed on Sundays, just close the business on Sundays, and we'll all keep it moving. But there is nothing more annoying than not being able to place an order with a business that says it is open. A big no-no. Otherwise, the food and the fried chicken is great. Their fried mushrooms hand breaded are large white mushrooms are also excellent Takes about 30 to 45 minutes to get your order and unless you pay for it by credit card on the phone of which there's about a 2- 3% surcharge for charging itthey will not cook it until you get there and pay for it. This place is so good that I crossed state lines for a bite lol! Their seasoned and cajun fried chicken are great. I haven't had a chance to try their western flavor as it was not available. The honey biscuits are a highlight as well. I don't recommend their mac n cheese or green beans, sides may not be their strong point. That's okay though because the chicken and biscuits are delicious. One critique that I have is that when you place an order over the phone they have a policy of not telling you the cost. I confirmed this when I picked up my food on 9/19/25. How the heck are you asking for my credit/debit card info over the phone the but can't tell me how much it is over the phone?? I finally found great fried chicken that isn't salty! I kept hearing good things about V's and finally decided to make the drive over to the east side. It took about 25-30 mins to get there and it's carry-out so be prepared to make some holes in the containers so your hot crispy chicken doesn't steam up and turn into soggy fried chicken on the way home. I suggest calling in your order in advance - you will probably still have a wait time when you get there as they come across as being understaffed. A one piece breast dinner is only $6 and includes two sides and a cornbread muffin. You can chose the breading with six different options. I've tried the breast dinner with the honey crunch breading, coleslaw, stuffing with gravy, and paid 45¢ more to upgrade to a biscuit. I've also tried the breast dinner with cajun breading, mac & cheese, greens with rice, and the muffin. I love that neither of the breadings I tried were salty like I have been experiencing with other restaurants. I did not think the cajun was hot at all and actually could barely taste the seasoning. The honey crunch was the best. Both times the chicken was huge with crunchy skin and moist meat. I did not care for the biscuit nor the muffin, I thought both were a bit plain and dry. You don't really need them anyways with all of the crunchy breading from the chicken. As for the sides I thought the mac & cheese was pretty good, coleslaw was slightly sweet and helped offset all of the heavy/fried food. I know a lot of reviews have raved about the greens and rice, but I thought it was just okay, a bit dry. The stuffing with gravy was just okay as well, a bit plain. While the sides I've tried so far aren't anything to rave about, there are still seven more for me to pick from on my third try of V's. I once tried a slice of oreo cake $6, would not get this again. It tasted like refrigerator. They offer other cakes to try like German chocolate, carrot cake, and a chocolate mousse cake. I am going to give them 4 stars because the fried chicken is the star of the show and it really is tasty. However the sides and desserts are lackluster and I really don't like the "5% convenience fee" that they charge if you don't pay with cash. I love V's! Pro Tip: order online and go in for pick-up. The restaurant does not have a dine-in option and you can easily call and set a time for pick-up! Their chicken is awesome! It has a deliciously crunchy breading and super juicy chicken. I really enjoy their spicy breading as well as the western breading. They do feature a honey mustard breading - which is a bit sweet and has a light honey taste. As for sides, I love the mashed potatoes, corn, and their green beans are delicious too! The chicken comes out moist, steamy and crispy. It's because they do it from scratch. Some restaurants par-cook their food, pretty much the entire way, then cook it again before they serve it to you. I've been wanting to try V's for a long time, but am never in that area. This morning, we woke up with a craving for fried chicken & I knew where we had to go. What we ate: seasoned full wings, seasoned chicken strips (we also tried one mild), stuffing & gravy, macaroni & cheese, rice & beans, rice & greens, potato wedges, a honey biscuit & a sticky roll. The chicken was perfect. Hot, juicy, well-seasoned, and not greasy. The macaroni & cheese was great, but the real star of the side dishes was the rice & greens. Wow, was that good. I ate it just a couple hours ago, and could eat it again right now. And the honey biscuit? It was the perfect end to the meal. We will absolutely be back. Heck, I'd go back for dinner tonight! I have visited V's Gourmet on three occasions and although the chicken is good, the customer service is poor--and that's being generous. Each time I've placed an order over the phone and gone to pick up my food, I've been treated as if they are doing me a favor by serving me food that I've paid for! The main perpetrator is a man behind the counter: his interpersonal skills are terrible, and he should not be public facing. I can't imagine how or why the restaurant leadership would tolerate his attitude. Most recently, after purchasing (and paying in advance for) nearly $100 of chicken, when I arrived to pick up the food I was berated for arriving before the order was ready. I knew I was a few minutes early and was perfectly willing to wait since I don't live near the restaurant, but was made to feel like I was an infringement of some sort, and taking up their time and space. But while exploring Euclid before a concert, I was intrigued by the excellent reviews on here, and ended up with a hankering for some of this "best damn fried chicken in Cleveland." V's did not disappoint. Fantastic chicken, mouth-watering ribs, the best fried zucchini, and honey biscuits that are to die for. I got a little over ambitious with my order, and only ate half of my feast. The leftovers were just as excellent the next day for lunch, after being toasted back to their glorious crispness via toaster over. The prices are great, and everything is made to order. (So keep in mind a 20 minute wait for the magic.) Also, there is one table in the place, but it's definitely a carry out place. I recommend Wildwood Park right down the road! Tonight was the night. Like others I'll say that if you're not looking for V's, you may drive right on past. Located on a curve next to a convenience store. I was looking for a stand alone place, but okay, I found it. Given that it was almost closing time, I can allow for the apparent one lone employee working who appeared pretty busy. That said, I would think when he was handing out pickup orders he could have said hey, be right with you. Instead I waited 5 minutes or so to even be acknowledged. Okay, fine. I ordered just 1 breast and 2 sides and was told it would be 20 minutes. Brain says, "Yeah but it's THE best in the city!" so I go out to my car and listen to the baseball game while waiting. The 20 min. estimate was spot-on. I didn't eat the chicken until I got home and I have to say, it was pretty darn good. I got the "mild" which is basic, no frills, no spices, crispy recipe. I was surprised by the other breading flavors they offered but this first time, I wanted to see what the basics were like, and I wasn't disappointed. The skin - which omg is the best part right, was crispy, not too greasy and no, it didn't taste just like flour as another reviewer stated. It wasn't WOAHWOW, because... "mild" you know? But it was good. Little shake of some salt and pepper, and yeah, IDK if it was the "best" I've ever had, but it was up there. For sides, well I had to have some M&C and I'll say that it had a homemade taste. Not sure if it is, but if not then bonus points just because it tasted as such. I had mashed/gravy too and those were not homemade. They were thin, watery and pretty unremarkable - but hey, I came for the chicken not potatoes. I have to elaborate here on the biscuit. I'm starting to pick off and eat the chicken breading and one little bit, hm... that tastes like honey. For a second I thought they messed up and gave me the honey battered kind (oh that would be so terrible, not) but I then pick up the biscuit and... what's this... the bottom of it is kind of... honey soaked. *blink* Um... yes please? Had I known that was a thing I might have gotten half a dozen of those on their own. Next time. And there will be a next time for V's because I have to try the other breadings and yes, those biscuits - but.... Like many others here have said to be the best process, I will order ahead and pickup. We ordered 125 meals( 200 pieces of chicken, 30 lb of Mac n cheese, Cole slaw and corn muffins) for a local battered women's and children's shelter Mother's Day lunch. I had never been to V's before but the reviews were good. I went to pay the bill and I was surprised that it was small and in a little strip center. The interior reminded of some places I had been to in Jamaica. When leaving I ordered an exact two piece meal that the women would get to give it a try. I ordered fried wings with the "seasoned" flavored breading (they have several breading flavors to choose from), rice and greens (amazing, trust me) and buttered corn.
