During the initial consultation, Matt heard me and was able to offer a number of options that would fulfill my needs. If I could leave negative stars I would. I would like to preface that I am only renting my apartment which I'm not sure if it makes things worse? If you see these guys pull up to your apt or house, lock your doors as you could do the same flooring job with zero experience vs these guys. They will promise you great fixes and then completely trash your home with no care in the world. I'm not sure if their workers are so disgruntled they are taking it out on the clients or if they are just truly this unprofessional. The amount of clean up I have to do after having these people in my home to fix a mistake their last employee made is INSANE. They were supposed to fix my floors that their last guy didn't fix and now my toilet is broken? Holes in the walls, broken sink, spaces and holes in between the baseboards and door frames as they did not recaulk anything. (This is not including the damage the first guy made to my apt, holes in the wall but also putting a full bag of cat food, my couch blankets & pillows, vacuum and steam mop outside on the balcony and then it RAINED) Then their main guy Mario has the audacity to ask me to call my grandpa over to help him figure out the valve for the toilet he broke and once my grandpa shows up Mario and his guys leave? Absolutely ridiculous, there are plenty of other flooring places in Fresno and Clovis to bring your business too and if you are renting an apt like me plead with your apartment manager to work with ANY other flooring company than VRR especially if you rent at Palm Gates. Waste of time, money and your sanity. One of the guys was also wearing an Advanced Flooring shirt so add them into the loop. Ed, James and or anyone else on the VRR team that does any hiring, firing or who should be holding their team accountable please hire quality workers that know what they are doing because your current guys are AWWWWWFUL. read more

We first contacted valley remnants last year for our flooring needs. We wanted to switch from carpet to wood laminate. We got a quote for both the floors and new baseboards. The process was smooth and Jose guided us through it every step of the way. The floors came out beautiful. We again contacted them recently to do our upstairs but this time with carpet. Although Jose was no longer there we had the pleasure of working with Hal. He gave us an estimate and helped us select a carpet that was suitable for us and our three messy kiddos. The installation process was a breeze. Within 3 hours we had brand new carpet. Again, we were pleased with the results. Hal even called a few days later to make sure everything went well and we were happy. If we're ever in need of more flooring this will be the place we call. read more

They reinstalled the old carpet edge grippers and screws which catch on my socks and needed to be replaced. Also, the carpet began buckling after about 6 months and now it has buckled all over the place, and not due to moving furniture. I have since learned that these 2 issues are not acceptible. read more

The sales staff was very helpful but the installers were just not very good. The first install for the carpet was taken out because of an unfortunate color shift in the carpet but it also wasn't that good of an install to begin with. Transitions at doors were crooked and we could see some seams we shouldn't be able to see. The second install was only slightly better... We could still see seams and some funny patching in the hall. They were good enough to come back and reinstall the hall a third time but it was still an unnecessary hassle. read more

I recently had pretty much my entire home with the exception of the living room covered in vinyl flooring due to it being an 80s build and having aggregate (small pebbles in concrete) as well as replacement carpet in the bedrooms. The price of materials plus install was just a bit more than only the materials would have cost at another store in Fresno. The quality of the material here was equal to the other place also. Everyone we dealt with was polite and the salesman remembered who I was after even a few months when I had a follow up question even though his name escapes me right now. During the install there was a mistake with some of the materials which was cleared up very promptly with no issues. 10/10 would recommend and use again. read more

Love this place! My husband and I are looking to sell our house soon, and it needed new flooring top to bottom but for cheap to keep within our remodel budget. I shopped around online via Yelp, Home Depot, Lowes and another local discount company before deciding on Valley Remnants and Rolls, and I'm very glad I did! The gentleman helping us, Ed I believe was his name, was very professional and good natured and honestly is the primary reason we chose them, aside from the great pricing. I let them know what we were looking for, made an appt and they came out the next day to measure sq footage etc. I got my pricing immediately while he was still at the house, was able to select the flooring the next day and had them installing it within 2-3 biz days (all of this was during busy Xmas season meanwhile the other flooring places I checked out could NOT have gotten the job done in under a month!) Admittedly they are a bit old school, but I'm from an old school family business so it totally put me at ease. Everything seems to be on paper still, no fancy gadgets or showy floor room; but who needs it?! I needed cheap but good flooring, with good customer service and quick turnaround time and that's exactly what we got : ) We had no trouble picking a $0.99/ft wood vinyl that was gorgeous, and even with installation (kitchen, dining, entryway, 2 bathrooms & laundryroom) it was half the cost of other quotes we had gotten. The installation guys were top notch as well, all business and fast. They showed up on time (to the minute!) and got down to brass tacks immediately and worked straight through with no breaks or idleness as far as I could tell. They were able to complete the whole project in a day and a half, where they had originally estimated a 2-3 day install time. Everything looks great, it it a HUGE change for the house, and at a bargain we couldn't be happier. We'll be using them again in the next month or so to replace all the carpeting next! Already sent my mother (the harshest critic of all LOL) and she is purchasing flooring from them as well. BONUS: installation included moving all big appliances for us, no extra charge! Hubby and I were concerned how we were going to move around the fridge, washer/dryer and toilets but they took care of it with ease. read more

Refloored about half the house a couple years ago, with Valley Remnants and Rolls. The experience was almost perfect. We had a large portion of tile, and some significant area that was engineered/laminate type flooring. The installer (Alex) did a top notch job, and took the extra time to do the project right. Simon made sure the project was estimated properly, and done to my satisfaction. I felt like they went above and beyond. Since then, I've dealt with Simon to order additional amount of the same tile for other rooms where we will not be using them to install, and he's still been a pleasure to work with. We are prepping our house to sell. Carpet in 3 bedrooms needed replacing first. About 80 yards total. I made contact with several local carpeting sellers with mixed results: 1. One never called me back? Whatever... Your loss. 2. Went to another store. They were too casual to take them seriously. They let me walk without even trying to come out to measure or give me a bid. Gave me a rough number of about $2,100+/_. 3. Another one was having a 50/50/50 sale. They came, measured, discussed our needs and gave us what I thought was a decent price with their sale discounts about $2,400. Included furniture moving, clean up and hauling the old carpet. Unfortunately their sale was ending before we were ready to buy. He was going to call me back in a month or so to follow up. Never heard from them again? 4. I stopped by Valley Remnants & Rolls (VR&R) and Ed came out to help me. I told him of our needs and timeline. He showed me 3 good mid-grade choices that would look good for a home sale but without a premium cost. Ed gave me 3 samples to show my family. He gave me a rough quote of about $1,800 and said to let him know when he could come out an measure for an actual quote. I called and set up an appointment to do the measuring. Ed came on time and did his thing. Then he worked up a quote. $1,725 total! Included install, medium grade pad, furniture moving, clean up and hauling of the old stuff. I said let's go and we set up the install date about a week out. He thanked me for my business and left. I think Ed thanked me at least 4 times for chosing VR&R over the course of this project. They get it! Install day comes. The VR&R install crew shows up on time with 4 guys. A little over 3 hours later and the job is complete, furniture is moved back in and the mess is gone! Carpet looks awesome, furniture is right where we had it before. They even asked me to check to make sure it was right. Hi! I work with a lot of flippers and we have used these guys for years. I wanted to redo my home's floors. They came over, measured and gave us a bid. We prepared the house and the date. When they came back over a few days before installation , they told us they had made a mistake and they would have to charge us $1,800 more!!! Needless to say, we cancelled. This is not good. After contacting a few local companies to complete a full floor remodel of our home, we chose to work with Valley remnants and rolls based on reviews I read here on Yelp. I asked specifically to work with Simon for the same reason. Not only was Simon extremely professional, kind and helpful, but the installers that came out were as well. Horacio and Alex were professional, nice and caring. They went out of their way to make sure we were happy and even helped my husband move a few pieces of furniture (even though they didn't have to). Each day, they piled their tools in one section of the house, rather than leaving them everywhere, which I really appreciated because I have a 15 mth old. They also hauled our old flooring for us and asked me each day if I was happy with everything, or if there was anything different they could do. Overall, our experience couldn't have been better!
