My son bought me a Tommy Bahama shirt for Christmas and I had one... So I took it back today (Jan…read more20) - it still had all the tags on it and wasn't even unfolded or ever out of the package. It was listed at $119.00 and they offered me $19. I was livid... the manager said since I didn't have the actual receipt (it was a gift) it probably went on sale for a day and that was the price they would give me - a little over 1 tenth of the list price. After spending tens of thousands of dollars there over the years (I have 3 children who helped) this was the treatment they give their solid customers. What gall! They probably do that with everything - day after Christmas they put everything on sale for 25% of the price for a morning so they can screw all their customers with returns. After this blatant rip off, I would never go back to Macy's - ever.

I understand having the sales person work the entire island but they are being set up for failure when you have the volume of customers you get four days before Christmas, walking up to both sides of the counter and demanding immediate service. We waited 40 minutes as two people we watched walk up to the other side of the counter (while we were already in line) demanded that they were next and made the poor sales woman ring them up for several transactions- all the while the line on our side was growing past the three people who had already been in line. Macy's- I know you are a failing company at this point. But please do both your sales people and customers a favor and get some organization going. Literally all you needed was a sign on one side saying to go to the other side for service while there is only one person working the counter.

She is rude and requires alot more customer service training. I need her to know she gets paid to "spritz perfumes on a daily basis" and to remember that some of the BLACK folks that frequent her counter are probably alot more Educated and hold more degrees than she would ever think. Dont be a hater because you are minimally paid and stuck! After 15+ years of shopping here I have decided to take my black dollar elsewhere. Neiman Marcus in KOP have beautiful and talented sales women on staff that are not RUDE! This woman can barely speak the kings english well! The young manager was wonderful at WG Bloomingdales and the other ladies were helpful as well, but I will not shop here anymore because of the Lancome counter Manager and her disrespect towards Black Customers. Stop looking down on people of color! Be thankful for a job, from the looks of it business is not booming at Bloomingdales Lancome counter anyway, people are heading to macys down the hall. You are an ignorant sales woman with no pedigree or class

My friend and I went to check out some cologne one afternoon. As we were checking out a couple of…read morepre-sprayed tester strips, a sales associate asked us for our preferences. We mentioned a couple of our go-to colognes and what else we were looking for, and the associate had us smell a couple of other fragrances. My friend wanted to have the associate spray one cologne on my friend's skin just to see how the notes come off, and the associate did so. However, the sales associate had a very unwelcoming demeanor from the beginning. We lingered for some time but couldn't decide on one to buy, and since we had a prior appointment at a suit store, we told the associate that we would come back. After some time, we barely took 20 steps out of the store when a security personnel from the store called out to us, asking us to return a tester. We initially thought he was talking about the test strips (we took a few with us that the associate had given us separately). When we offered those to the security, he said that he was looking for a tester bottle that we took with us. We were quite surprised because we didn't take any, and I pulled out my hand sanitizer out of my pocket to show to the security in case we thought that was a tester. The security guy then said something like "nevermind" and left. We stood outside the store looking back at security wondering what just happened. We went to the suit store and then went back to Bloomingdales and confronted the security personnel. He said that he was given the wrong description. When we said that it was quite disrespectful to accuse someone without making sure they are the correct person, security just said that it's okay. They did not apologize for their behavior, and because we are people of color, we felt we were violated and subject to profiling and racism. We asked to speak to their manager but the security personnel said that they were not available and we could file a complaint online, which we later did (we also got his name - Tony). We again mentioned that it is not okay to wrongly accuse anyone of theft without any evidence but security pretty much shrugged and again said that it was okay. Because the security personnel said someone had put them to this task, we had a feeling it was the sales associate since we only interacted with them during our brief time in the store. We are not sure what kind of training anyone at the store gets or how their hiring process is but it's quite pathetic, to put it mildly. We have frequented KOP mall and stores like YSL, Louis Vuitton, Creed, and never have we ever had such poor quality service, or were made to feel this uncomfortable, or had anyone behave this unprofessionally.
