I always have mixed feelings about this location. It's convenient if you are in the Willow Grove area. It's Sephora, so you have access to the items Sephora sells. That's kinda where the pros end for me. Customer service tends to be slow to speak to you, and the items are usually out of stock. My last two visits, the store, have also been kinda messy. To be fair, it was busy. I'll continue to go here because it's more convenient parking than Center City Philadelphia, but that is really the only reason. read more

I'm loyal to this Sephora location because of my current and past experiences with the full face custom makeover process. All of the employees have been very professional and polite. I book appointments here from time to time to get a 60 minute full face of makeup done by a young lady named Jil. If you ever need your makeup done, request her. She will not disappoint! I've never walked out after Jil has done by makeup and been upset. I get so many compliments on my makeup. Jil is precise and takes her time. She listens and double checks to make sure certain products or applications of makeup are okay. Jil asks about skin concerns prior to the service. Rouge clients can get up to 3 free makeovers. If you aren't Rouge or have exceeded 3 makeovers, you are required to spend a minimum of $50 in order to qualify for the makeover. It's a good deal in my opinion. The store is well stocked and clean. It tends to get a little crowded in there during peak times. The girls working there are friendly and great at giving suggestions. At the end of my most recent service, Jil offered me some free samples of a fragrance or other makeup products I'd be interested in trying. A little goes a long way. I feel valued at Sephora because I know Jil cares about her customers. I will continue to shop at this location as long as Jil is around!! read more

I was really surprised to see the amount of stars on here. I worked at the Willow Grove Mall and my career history has been in retail in different leadership roles. Every single time I've been to this Sephora (which trust me, was a lot during my working days in that mall) it was an amazing experience. One of the first times, a few years back, I met one of the managers. I think she was the store manager because we talked about our jobs, career in retail, and leading at high levels. She was so informative but gave me the space to shop. Another time was when I went in looking for a new skin care product. The girl was friendly, approachable and bubbly. I've been using this product for years now. Then just the other day I stopped in for new makeup. No one helped me, which was fine I had a friend helping me but the girl who checked me out was so kind. She seemed new and nervous but I started up a conversation and she opened up a bit more. I stopped by for new face wash and while on the way in remembered that I wasn't happy with the brow pencil I currently rely on. The decision to get a new brow product was so spur of the moment that I could BARELY (if at all) articulate what my goal was, just that I'm lazy and wanted results. I was also uncomfortable from being in the 100° weather and sweaty, which made me even more uncomfortable in the store. Bethany solved my problem and didn't rush me, even when I said maybe I'd just wait because I was getting annoyed with not knowing what I wanted. She listened (patiently), helped and solved my issue. Shame on you Sephora! I wish I could give you ZERO stars! Customer service DOES NOT EXIST at Sephora! I purchased an expensive bottle of makeup for my daughter, which after less than 1 month, the defective lid broke. The top of the lid completely broke off, exposing the makeup, which will compromise the quality of the product. When she went to exchange it, she was asked how it was paid for, she answered debit card...the debit card was 2,365 miles away in California, but they asked for the number anyway so they could verify purchase. I started giving them my cc number...and after giving them only 4 of the numbers, they said they wouldn't do it. Seriously! Shame on you Sephora! This is the second time I've had a lackluster experience at this Sephora. I went in looking for some new makeup on a quiet weekday. I actually would have liked if someone had helped me find a lipstick and liner. But no one greeted me when I came in. I wandered around looking at makeup lines - no one offered to help me. I started trying on lipstick myself, still no help. At that point I wasn't going to bother asking for help. Whether the sales associates thought I wasn't going to spend any money or what, was beyond me. I ended up spending $125.00, so their loss. They were also out of a lot of products. I snapped pics of the colors I wanted and will buy them elsewhere. read more

The store on a 100+ degree day outside was crazy busy. I was pleased that An associate was available to help me as soon as I came in the store. After I told her specifically what I came in for, a lip pencil that matched a lipstick from a brand they didn't carry, she gave me a computerized skin product matching scan then set me up at a iPad terminal that allowed me to virtually try on the shades that would look good on me. Then my own associate came to help me within 2 minutes. Very good customer service. They had a ton of people working. I even got the product samples I asked for without complaint and a free gift. If you don't mind the frenetic environment (or want to go other than prime mall time), I definitely recommend this location. read more

This is one of the smallest Sephora stores I have ever seen, which is a shame because this is the only one in this area and it would do VERY well if it were larger....However, I am not on here to complain. I am reviewing to tell you about an AMAZING experience I had last week. I ran to sephora after work last week, tired, pimple faced and on my last straw with my skin....and then the Sephora angels sent me Michelle! Michelle was able to help me find a clay mask that met all of my specifications and actually was very knowledgeable about all of the different kinds as well as the ingredients. She was able to help me figure out what would work best for my skin type etc etc. I can't explain to you how much this chick actually knows about skincare. She made me feel very comfortable with what I was buying. I know you're thinking...ok, well did it actually work? Well, it hasn't even been a week yet, but I am noticing that my skin broke out a bit at first and now seems to be clearing up! Yay! Came in here to look for makeup and I was with my sister, her boyfriend, and his cousin. We were walking around looking for makeup, and they were just following us around. After I picked out some lipgloss, one of the workers came up to me and ask if I needed help with anything, and I said no. She said okay and walked away. Instead of just continuing about her day and letting us continue with ours, she came back and told my friend, "oh, your pants are falling," thinking she was funny. How rude! What kind of service is that? No one comes in to shop for makeup to have a worker say something smart like that. I put my stuff back and left. She said her name was Fox, probably lying. Don't try to come up and say something about other people's clothes if you're wearing blue lipstick, played yourself. If I could give no stars, I would. read more

This review is difficult because there was one person who was great (Beth) and another who was a jerk (Amber). Unfortunately, Amber's attitude was the one we left the store with, so that has the greater bearing on this review. If it wasn't for Beth, this would be 1 star. (See also UPDATE near bottom) Beth greeted us and was SUPER nice and helped with Bumble and Bumble products. She did extra research to make sure she was giving good recommendations and was very sweet. However I needed help with makeup and she radioed someone to come over but it took forever, they never came. Then an older blond woman came over to help and she was also nice. However when the sample we were asking for was not pumping out correctly (Hour Glass Illusion tinted moisturizer), she called someone else over, Amber. Amber came over with an attitude I did not appreciate, scowling and muttering and saying, "I don't have time for this," which was very rude. And as she opened the drawer at the bottom of the display to see if there was more product, I was trying to get my bag out of the way, and instead of waiting, she proceeded to open the drawer right into my stuff, shoving it out of the way. She was abrasive and abrupt and didn't seem like she wanted to help anyone, and actually put us in a bad mood, giving an overall bad taste of our experience. She should not be working in service if she can't put her personal issues aside when she is on stage. I have worked in customer service as well (for a HUGE, well known, cutting edge company)l, and customers were always priority, no matter what else was going on. It comes with the territory of the industry. I believe the cashier or the older blonde let Amber know that I was planning on submitting feedback that I was not happy, because on our way out of the store Amber was playing a different tune and was extremely nice to us on the way out. We were not amused and could see through the fakeness, as she made a smart comment about us on the way out. Also she gave some information about Hourglass products that I have used for 5 years and hadn't heard before. I am checking with the company (Hourglass) to see if it is in fact true. ----UPDATE: Hourglass has communicated with me that the info Amber gave me was NOT true. Amber said that Illusion Tinted moisturizer contains a self-tanning primer. I said I had never heard that after using the product for a couple years and asked if she was sure she wasn't confusing it with something else. She said no. I said I would look into it. And that other older blonde said, "Amber really knows her stuff." You guys didn't fool me. Not only are you crabby but you are giving out misinformation! I am demoting my review from 2 stars to 1 star. If you don't know something, say you don't and find out, if you can. Don't assume you can outsmart consumers by feeding us lines of BS. I love Sephora, just not this one! Every time I try to buy a product, they don't have it in stock. I understand once or twice, but every time for different products? Coincidence not! Just now, again, I tried to buy a pressed powder and they did not have my color in stock. The girl said she would be more than happy to order it online for me free of shipping charge, however I would not be able to use my $20 coupon towards the purchase of $50. Well why NOT? Its not my fault you guys are constantly out of stock! The "manager" at the register was so rude and patronizing I could hardly contain myself when speaking to her. How about customer service?! And the makeup trial? Don't even get me started - its a complete joke! I can apply better makeup than half of girls working there. This is the reason I like MAC counter so much better. Usually I am bombarded with "Can I Help you find anything" which is super annoying and makes me want to walk out - but that didn't happen at this store (thank god). However, then I realize I was standing there for about 10 minutes looking around and NOONE had tried to help me. The make-up girls were too busy chatting about gossip to notice. Guess that's what happens when you hire 22 year olds and ask them to be professional? Anywayyyyy ENTER MARIA!!!! She was SO awesome. I am such a weirdo when it comes to picking things. She was super fun, walked me around to try a ton of different products and recommended her favorites. Bonus-- she was honest about products she thought I might not be happy with or ones that were reviewed but she hadn't tried yet. Once I was done "let me know if you need help with anything else", she said. "You know what, Maria- I do... lets go play with perfume", I replied. 20- testers later, a lot of jokes and smelling like a cheap prostitute- Maria was still there by my side. I will be back. Side bar: as a MAC girl (and knowing that Sephora doesn't carry MAC products) I was super impressed. Honestly the worst customer service at any Sephora location I have ever been to. They lack friendliness, professionalism and knowledge. This location is full of older woman that are not only judgemental by openly speaking poorly about other customers, but also seem to have no knowledge about products themselves. I have time and time again felt unwelcomed and unsatisfied after visiting this location which is why I would rather drive 30 minutes to the KOP Sephora than drive 2 minutes to the Willow Grove Sephora to be disappointed. read more

As Sephora's go, this one in the Willow Grove mall is lackluster. Don't get me wrong, I love my Sephora, I just don't love this one. They are almost always out of inventory when I'm looking for something (I'm a huge fan of the Bare Minerals line, which they carry), but I can never find the shade or product I want. They are also more limited in the lines they carry (e.g., I love DuJour, they don't have it). The selection of perfumes and colognes is always sparse, Better to visit the store in King of Prussia, they ALWAYS have what I'm looking for, they're much better with providing free samples and stuff to try, so I'll suffer through those crowds just to get what I need! read more

I was at register trying to check out. I asked the woman at register a question about my points and she could not understand what points were. I repeated myself over and over again. The woman was clueless. I asked her why she was there if she could not help or understand a customer question. Then the rest of the staff insulted me as I was leaving. I was in need of a new foundation and stopped in. Sephora has a new device that is supposed to pick the perfect foundation color. That device is a miracle. So is a salesperson named Julia. Not only did she help me with the best color match but she also recommended a bronzer and few other goodies without being pushy. Plus her makeup looked flawless without being overdone. I was not greeted by any of the half dozen employees in the store and was not offered help when trying to find a specific item. The cashier was rude and snatched my rewards card out of my hand. Anyway, I come in to pick up my mother's free birthday gift yesterday so the first employee was working with a customer . So she spoke fine and I went to the check out to get the gift . So the lady at the desk was nasty and I could already read her body language and everything before even getting all the way to the counter . I get there and she acted as if at first she couldn't see me . So I proceeded to talk and say what I wanted . She tried to act like she didn't hear me . I said it again and that's when she rolled her eyes and proceeded to pull up whatever on her computer. I am a Sephora VIB Rouge customer and spend alot of money in this store. However, last week I made an appointment for a makeover for my daughter's wedding. The personnel was aware it was a special event I made the appointment a week in advance. The day before the wedding I received an email canceling my appointment. No one answers the phone in the Willow Grove, PA store. There was no offer to reschedule at another store!This is poor customer service, makeover appointments are not dependable! I don't want to commit to one brand like you have to with a department store counter makeover and thought Sephora would work well.
