K-BEAUTY OUTLET in Philly is a Korean skincare store located in Chinatown. I've been here a couple…read moreof times and the staff are always welcoming and very helpful in answering any questions pertaining to your skin needs. So far, with help and recommendations from their staff, I've purchased eye cream, eye patches, facial moisturizer, toner, and lip glosses, which all seem to be good quality. The cost seems to be equal to or maybe even a little more than, other places you can get some products. Parking is close to non-existent.

I was excited to check this place out over the weekend and it really exceeded my expectations! The…read morestore is spotless, bright, and very well laid out with a ton of products (skincare, hair care, masks, makeup etc.) I was planning on just browsing and maybe picking up a mask to try but after a surprise sunburn (who knew you could get sunburnt just wandering around the city in 70 degree weather?!) further inflamed my already redness prone skin, I figured I'd see if they had anything that could help. I was skeptical because I've tried expensive products (Stilla, Dr. Jart, Smashbox etc.) and nothing had ever worked. Luckily for me, I was quickly approached by one of the helpful sales associates who asked what I was looking for and gave me some great recommendations! She was knowledgeable, so nice, and not at all pushy. She had me try the two products she said worked very well redness and I wound up buying them both - a lightweight moisturizer and a skin soothing mist. I'm new to Korean beauty but I'm really impressed with these two products already (it's only been 2 days!) The moisturizer feels incredible and I've definitely noticed a slight improvement in my redness. The spray was a godsend all weekend on my sunburn and smells so good! It's in a great location in Chinatown, very close to the Reading Terminal market. I'll definitely be back when I visit Philly again!

In a rare bout of experimentation recently, I was all set to pull the trigger on buying some products from Glossier on their website when I saw they had a brick and mortar in Philly and decided to go check it out. And I'm so glad I did! Being able to compare different colors/shades and seeing how they looked on my skin made a huge difference. The ladies in the pink jumpsuits were very friendly and quick to offer recommendations and advice if you ask. My only two critiques: 1. The area right by the front door got very crowded. If you walk a little bit further in towards the back, there were much fewer people with the same exact products to play around with. 2. Some of the samplers needed to be thrown out (dried up, nothing on the bottom). I liked that they had a lot of swabs, makeup remover, and hand sanitizer on hand, but that doesn't really help if the sampler product is useless. They're running a promo now where if you spend over a certain amount, you get a free pink mug!

I didn't choose either of the delightful, light, lovely fragrances. I preferred the Glossier limited edition birthday cake candle, which smells yummy. Their candles are affordable, have long-lasting aromas, and have a nice throw.

I wanted an actual in person opinion before dropping that kind of money. I asked an associate about a few options, told her what I've used before, what I was looking for, just trying to give context. It was busy, so I get that it's hectic. But she was clearly over it. Eyes glazing over, super short responses, that vibe where someone is already tired of you and you just started talking. She basically pointed at one product and kind of brushed me off. The frustrating part is I was already leaning toward that exact serum. I just wanted confirmation or a little insight. Instead I felt like I was inconveniencing her for asking basic questions in a store that literally sells beauty advice as part of the experience. Sephora is already pricey, so the whole reason I went in instead of ordering online was for guidance. If I'm going to get treated like that, I might as well just click buy from home next time. Cashiers were nice though. So at least checkout didn't feel awkward.

I approached a team member in the makeup section and asked for assistance with a new fragrance. The nice young lady referred me to Ms Dorthy who was a few steps away. It was busy and she kindly held that area down. I mentioned that I have Gucci Blossom from a while back but started triggering migraines. I have DK Good Girl which I would need to spray way in advance. Marc Jacob Daisy is my most recent. As I grew older the Spider Senses became stronger. Lol Ms Dorthy suggested several fragrances. I went with a travel of a Jo Malone. I am not built for the cold and spoke with Kimberly about hair hydration. I went with her recommendation of a Briigeo Travel Kit. Kind recommendations. Self Care on a budget. Looking forward to my upcoming birthday reward.
