The Votivpark is a nice place to visit in Vienna, especially if you have a cup of coffee to drink and a friend for chatting with you. In the late springtime and summertime in Vienna, if it's not-cold and not rainy, the weather can be stupidly lovely and perfect for getting outdoors and park-going. This place can serve that purpose nicely.
Because of its vicinity to the Schottentor Universität U-Bahn station (U2), which is also the stop for many tram lines, it's a very accessible park, and also near many bakeries, cafes, and other great places to get lunch or a snack.
If you're hoping to visit the church, do know that it's closed on Mondays, but open Tuesdays through Saturday from 9-13 and 16-18; and Sundays 9-13. read more
