With the new year, one of my resolutions was to take care of all the "small" tasks around the house…read morethat have been ignored due to the hectic pace of our lives. I reached out to Volunteer Vent to get my dyer & dryer vents cleaned out. Our house is roughly 14 years old, and they've never been cleaned in the 6 years we've lived here. The tech did a thorough inspection and let me know their findings before I agreed to start the job. Not only did they clean out a LOT of lint, but they also found a lighter that fell behind the dryer which posed a fire threat. I'm very happy with their service, and it was affordable. And I'm glad to have another item checked off my list! If you haven't cleaned your vents lately, call Volunteer Vent and let them know I referred you.

He did a great job--was very tidy--and finished right on time! I noticed the air was fresher, and, of all, the persistent musty smell was gone from the powder room, which we initially thought was a P-trap we had already serviced (by a plumber). I also had him clean my dryer vent, and he came back to clean a couple of fabric chairs, which looked great afterward. Best of all, his prices were fair and even a bit lower than those of other companies. Use any or all of his services, and you will be completely satisfied!

My new dryer was not ridding itself of condensation . I called the Duct doctor. Their minimum…read morecharge is 249.00 for a house call. I paid 348.00 for their service. After pulling the dryer out from the wall it was discovered that the vent hose was ripped in the middle and too long that Lowe's had recently installed one month ago. The Lowes installation crew had installed an 8 food dryer hose. A shorter one was needed. The 4' hose was 79.00 from the Duct Doctor, it sells for 25.00 at Lowe's and that was added to the 249.00 minimum charge, so I believed all of this and gave him a 20.00 tip for a total $348.00. I need to include the following, the very kind technician sent his scope up the vent to discover very little lint in the shute and daylight peeking in at the top. He immediately suggested a roof vent to be replaced. He told me that it was going to cost 749.00. He had to schedule it with his roofer. I was shocked. A dryer vent on the roof is only about 25.00 at Lowe's. My house is 6 years old. The vent on the roof is metal and bent the way they are supposed to be. The light was a good signal that it was not clogged. I called my handyman after he left. My handyman came over only to find nothing was wrong with my roof vent. The light peeking through was the signal all was clear. One can imagine how I felt after this bad adventure. (On a side note-this house is 6 years old. We moved in 2 years ago. After we moved in we had the duct doctor over to check the vent and all was great. That was 2025). What would you think of this company's ethics? Another interesting thing is that no sales tax was added to the new hose. ODD

When I called them to ask what the bill was for, They explained that they had to pull out a camera to inspect the Chimney, so it is an inspection fee. I asked the lady on the phone how can they provide an estimate if they can't see inside the chimney? She did not have an answer for that. They sent me a quote for 3 tiny cracks that was over $12K. Absolutely taking advantage of the ZIP Code I'm in. I don't ever leave one star reviews, but it just has such a bad taste in my mouth that I wanted to let people know that this company is absolutely taking advantage of people. Beware.
