Two star review just because the original agent who showed me the apartment in Washington Heights was very kind in person. But that's where the good ends. Last week I saw an apartment, liked it, applied for it, even provided a "deposit in good faith" which I have now learned is ILLEGAL in New York. Within a day, I was verbally approved for the apartment, which I know means nothing, however, I have a third party guarantor that was accepted and signed the apartment up in their systems and the policy was issued within 30 minutes for coverage on a 12 month lease. Ultimately, the apartment had been taken off market after the deposit. bit of time passes by and I receive a phone call explaining that there was some worry about a section in the guarantor's agreement around renewals and that the guarantor would not renew me for a renewal lease. I of course had read that agreement before I signed and know that is not what it said; it said that for any lease extension or renewal, I'd just need to resubmit my financial documentation to the guarantor for review/approval. Prior to submitting any application, the broker who I had been working with, and am not continuing to work with them, shared my specific situation as to why I had a guarantor that had qualified me for up $3100 a month in rental coverage. Currently, I am in a chapter 13 bankruptcy. Over the past 15 years, I have dealt with my mother being killed in a freak accident, five years after that my father being diagnosed with advanced vascular dementia and then him passing a few years later. I took on many financial responsibilities by choice to help my father in settling unmasked financial doings that my mother did behind his back, as well as becoming my father's legal caretaker when he became ill. So forgive me for exhausting my personal resources and doing what had to be done for my father. When the pandemic hit, my brother and sister-in-law lost jobs and their home, they also had my niece and nephew who were a newborn and a toddler at the time...guess what...Uncle stepped in to help to the best of my abilities. I have been renting the same apartment in Chicago for the past 17 years; I even have the renewal lease to decide on by the end of March for year 18. In addition to having the most amazing references that can be provided, and lastly, $30k to pay rent. I'm glad that yesterday I finally received the deposit back. But am laughing as I just received notification that the apartment I applied for and been re-listed to the market...at $100 less than what I was willing to pay. I had even asked if it would be possible to negotiate for $2250, was told no, and still agreed with the $2295...yet here I am, denied. I finally received the deposit back yesterday, thankfully. But I can assure you that this process has been nothing but disappointing. It's so shameful how people and companies act and would think that with all that is going on in the world, would do their best to understand. Absolutely disgraceful. read more

I was searching for an apartment in Queens. I sent a note to one of their StreetEasy listings. An agent responded very quickly asking for additional info. I replied right away and did not hear back. I sent a chaser email two days later, no response. I reached out about another rental, not realizing it was also a Voro listing. The same agent responded with the same message about my budget and move in date. I wrote her back and said, we've already corresponded and I've provided this info. Here it is again. I want to see both places this weekend - when are you free? No response till a week later. Based on the other reviews here, they seem very scammy and fishy - I would avoid. They also post listings with photos of a different apartment , for example, a "5th floor apartment" with pictures of a unit that's clearly on the second floor. read more

Tanjil Rezbi was our agent for an apartment in flushing, we had to apply for the apartment twice since he said we did not meet the credit or income requirements. After the second application with a guarantor we were denied again even though we exceeded the guarantor requirements by a wide margin. After to little to no communication on Tanjil's end, we contacted the agency on the listing and were told that the unit was unavailable and that there was nothing they could do about our application fee and to contact Tanjil directly since he's an independent contractor. After confronting Tanjil, he just accused us of wasting our time and ghosted us, and so did the real estate company. I was eventually able to get my money back through my bank, but my co-signers did not and one of them had to pay the application fee multiple times. read more

Patricia Brady collects multiple payments prior to ever giving you a lease, and then gives you the runaround for why you can't have the lease, and at the last minute she claims there's either a lead paint issue, gas issue, or fire in the apartment so you can't move in. Working with her in November and December 2021 was a total nightmare. Others have come forward stating that she did the same things to them, so obviously she is running some kind of scam. I tried contacting her about giving me a lease after she collected $3750 from me (security deposit and brokers fee). I tried for 39 days to get a lease from her and her management company. 3 days before move in she told me I can't move in because of lead abatement and that the apartment requires extensive work before I can move in. I have a string of emails, text messages, phone calls and voicemails of just utter nonsense from Patricia, Sunny, and Steven. Good luck ever getting your money back, or an apartment that you were "approved" for. I had to turn this over to the District Attorney so hopefully these scams can stop. I feel so bad for everyone that Patricia conned, she is so unpleasant to deal with and so hostile in her interactions, it might have been easier to let her keep my $3750 than deal with her for 39 days. She is a total waste of time, money, effort, and energy, an extremely unpleasant and hostile human being, and total con artist. I've attached below one of the ridiculous emails she sent me SIX WEEKS after I sent her multiple payments for the apartment, about $4,000. She guarantees a move in date of Jan 1, which she told me on 12/29 was not going to happen. She mentions that other leases are a priority, six weeks after she takes your money. She claims she sent a receipt for the money I sent her, she kept bringing up these receipts but never actually sends it. She probably thinks if she doesn't send a receipt then she's entitled to keep your money. Like a 5 year old would think. Everything in this email is illegal and against NYS laws so I am really shocked she would put all of this in writing. I've been yelled at by Patricia many times on the phone, and Steven has yelled at me on the phone also. It's all very distressing and embarrassing to be a part of, especially since I was sick with covid the last week of December when I was packing up everything to move into the new apartment that Patricia Brady guaranteed me to move into 1/1/22. Edit: The Vice President at Voro LLC reached out to me via email asking me to take down this review or they will take further action. Sorry but you've been conned too, a lot of misinformation in the email, it's all very embarrassing to read. Please do your homework before you contact the Attorney General to state your position because it's not a good look if you think you have all the information but in reality you do not. Everyone at this company needs to get it together. I edited the review to make it more concise, anyone (except Patricia Brady) feel free to reach out to me since I am learning that others have had extremely similar experiences with her. Since the VP is so adamant about the fact that I made up the lead abatement issue, I've attached a transcription of the voicemail Sunny from management left me 3 days before move in, and still no lease. Patricia followed up within minutes and confirmed the lead issue. Sorry if the VP was told that I made it up. Should have done your research, I've got all the phone calls that Patricia and Sunny conveniently forgot to tell you about. Update in response to the owner. @Christopher W you're missing the biggest point of my review, which was the fact that the agent failed to tell me that she will take the unit off the market for whoever sends her a deposit first. Even when I said I wasn't comfortable with putting down money without any written agreement ensuring I'd get it back if things fell through, she ignored me. Even if she couldn't move my application forward because of competing applicants/circumstances, she could have at least been transparent with what things looked like on her end. Instead her avoiding to tell me this major caveat was a huge letdown, and she left me in the dust when I tried asking for clarity after the fact. I'd dealt with multiple realtors and never have I been asked to put down a deposit with 0 assurance that my application was being taken seriously and/or written deposit terms. Also you state that the unit was already gone after I submitted the application. I find that hard to believe because I viewed the apt Jan 11 at 8pm, was sent the application at 10:01 that evening, and sent back my app materials at 10:47pm. Unless of course the apartment was already rented out by the time the agent was showing it to a large group of people--in which case--what was even the point? It felt like being led on and then getting the rug pulled out from underneath me. If the world of the NYC rental market makes it so Voro agents can't communicate the bare minimum with clients, then I recommend renters take their business elsewhere. read more

On February 11th I paid him $1000 towards the deposit of a basement apartment in a house on Litchfield Avenue in Elmont, NY. The money was sent via Zelle to his assistant Mr. Akhtar Gill at (347) 446-7716 . I decided not to go ahead with leasing this apartment because it is as not a legal basement apartment and it did not meet the requirements and regulations and I didn't not feel safe. His assistant Mr. Tony, Ahktar Gill told me I would get my money back until the second week of March. I never heard from Mohammad Gill and Mr Ahktar Gill says he has nothing to do with it. They are both ignoring my calls, emails, texts in an attempt to make arrangements with them. It is unprofessional and unethical and I would rather fix this and make arrangements one-on-one before reporting him to the State and the Real Estate agencies, and file a Police report. She shows unrentable apartments, claims you've been approved, takes your $2000 security deposit and ghosts you. Patricia, how do you sleep at night knowing this is what you do to get by? Thankfully we got our money back after calling Patricia and making her understand the jig was up. But clearly from the real reviews here about Patricia, there are lots of people who aren't as lucky. After not receiving any kind of response for weeks, I was finally contacted by Jane - whose real name is Yauheniya Stasialovich. I gave her all the usual info (income, credit, move-in, etc) and asked her when I could view. Sensed the red flags from her lack of confirming an appt date/time with me after I mentioned that I had two children aged 10 and 11. After having to ask her to confirm over three times and after 12 hours of our initial contact, she told me in a text that the landlords did not want anyone with children. VORO upholds discriminatory practices, can't seem to get back to anyone, then continues to harass them via text. I have first dibs since I am the most qualified prospect, have excellent credit and reached out first Day 10 - (expected) silence Day 11 - silence Day 12 - silence Day 13 - I reach out again. Broker says they'll take the video tomorrow (again) Day 14 - silence Day 15 - silence Day 16 - I reach out again. Broker says they'll take video "tomorrow" (for the third time) Day 17 - silence Day 18 - I see it has been rented by someone else ZERO STAR EXPERIENCE I think they realized after we spoke on the phone that I'm not an ignorant know-nothing from out of state who will be swindled so they just moved on to someone else they could hustle.
