***2026*** DO NOT WORK WITH ANY REALTOR AT VORO…read more Good evening, I reached out to Patricia Brady on Zillow about a 2BR listing in College Point, NY for $2,400. I had a viewing with her and another gentleman on AUG 4th. She informed that if I were interested in the rental, a security deposit of $2,400 was needed to remove the apt from Zillow. The deposit was sent same day, the listing was taken down. She requested my paystubs, bank statements. I sent everything via email the same day. A couple days go by, she lets me know that the "landlord" has requested my credit report via fax because he's on vacation in Greece. Not a problem, however, 2 weeks go by and shes still stating that he hasn't received it and he's not very responsive. I give it another week or 2, still no real update. I finally decided to cancel my application and request an immediate refund of my deposit. A few days go by of me writing her for my refund and she tells me she's going to add the "landlord" to an email to request the refund. I am a military member under a lot of stress and had to threaten to involve my command to get a response from this "landlord" of options for my refund. I chose to have the check from the "landlord" be sent to Patricia to then deposit and Zelle back to me electronically. It is now SEPT 8th and the "landlord" has emailed me that the check was sent to Patricia. Her excuse for all this is that the deposit his held in an escrow account when she collects deposits. It is technically a good-faith deposit but a MAJOR red flag and considered scammy. After sending texts for updates, I finally get an update from Patricia on SEPT 16 that the check was deposited on SEPT 14th & takes 2-3 business days to clear. I've deposited checks larger than that and had a portion cleared the same day and next day the full amount is available. I sent a text for an update again on SEPT 21st and no response until SEPT 23rd only after I informed her I had to go to my local precinct to file a police report. Patricia immediately called me to explain that she was working with her bank to try to send the full amount since the limit was only $500 at the time. If you do a little digging on her on the internet, you see that she does this A LOT, down to the same $500 increments for deposits returns. (Not sure if some kind of money laundering allegedly). I've texted her every other day since SEPT 23rd for my payments and have finally received the last of the $2,400 TODAY, OCT 01! Side Bar: I have all email/call/text communication to prove everything above. The company and Patricia can probably see this and don't care but this has severely damaged my trust in realtors. I will NEVER put down a deposit without signing a contract or keys in my hand ever again. I've also reported the fraud to Zillow, NYS Division of Consumer Protection & NYS Division of Licensing. I've been able to get a meeting with Ahmed Tagini, Commissioner at NYC Department of Buildings. I insist on scheduling another one to report this realtor and VORO. DO NOT USE VORO OR ANY REALTOR ASSOCIATED WITH THEM!

Would give negative stars if possible. The most unprofessional interaction I have ever had. Scott…read moreKiaer & Sam Beniaminian are absolutely horrific to deal with. College student applied to live in Brooklyn apartment that Parkoff aka New Park Management manages. They do not do lease signings on line via docusign. Required her to make a one day trip from Chicago to sign her lease in person would not make an exception. I even offered to go in person and have her facetime with them. They made the appointment at 5pm after regular business hours when no one else was in the office. Scott started off by talking about how there are roaches & mice and that no rent reductions would be given except in case of a fire. He said who cares about mold and disparaged other renters who have suffered floods/leaks etc. When I explained that we needed to get the lease signed as it was now after 6pm and she had a flight to catch back to Chicago. He escorted us out of the building and said he could not be rushed and that we would have to reschedule the lease signing. Scott Kiaer even threatened to call the police if we followed him back into the building. A college student flew in from Chicago for the day just to get this lease signed so she could move for school! Scott Kiaer acted unhinged! Sam Beniaminian claimed to not know Scott's last name. Low and behold when I did a google search of Parkoff Managment they were involved in a discrimination lawsuit and let their buildings fall into states of disrepair. Run don't walk away from this company! The Fair Housing Justice Center (FHJC) announced today that it has filed yet another lawsuit against New York real estate behemoth The Parkoff Organization A/K/A Parkoff Operating Corp. and its management company New Park Management LLC. Parkoff is one of the area's largest real estate organizations, owning and operating over 4,000 rental units throughout the city. Also named as defendants in the complaint are building owners Hawthorne Gardens LLC, Henry Hudson Gardens LLC, Netherlands Property Assets LLC, 75-76 Third Avenue Assets III LLC, and York 80 LLC; real estate companies Advanta Real Estate A/K/A Advanta Service Center, Queens Apartment Realty LLC, Contact Realty Corp. A/K/A Contact Realty II Corp., and Compass Inc. A/K/A Compass Realty, and real estate agents Matthew Scott Miguel, Samuel Beniaminian, Diego Hidalgo, Michael Lee, and Kevin Loh. The complaint details Parkoff's long history of repeatedly discriminating against prospective tenants. It was sued in 1991 for race discrimination at seven buildings in Manhattan and the Bronx, and again in 2017 by the FHJC for race, source of income, and family status discrimination at two buildings in Brooklyn. Notably, Parkoff was also sued by the City in 2021 for allowing nine of their buildings to fall into such disrepair and hazardous condition that the City alleged its actions constituted public nuisances and unlawful harassment of its tenants.

Sassouni is just fine…read more I rented a 2 bedroom unit from them for a year and had no problems. They even helped us terminate our lease early - which is practically unheard of in NYC. Our security deposit was returned with no issues. If you're on Yelp looking at reviews for management companies, then you're unfortunately in the wrong place - people generally only come here to complain about bad experiences. I suggest to ask for tenant references from the broker instead of reading raging Yelp reviews. Bottom line - if you pay your rent on time, are quiet, and don't damage the property - you'll have a problem-free experience with Sassouni Management. Don't worry!

WARNING: Signature Fraud and Concerning Application Process…read more TLDR: Documents appeared with my and my guarantor's signatures despite neither of us signing or authorizing them, and management failed to explain how they were executed. Requirements and terms changed constantly. The most serious issue I experienced was receiving "executed" electronic documents bearing the signatures of both myself and my guarantor when neither of us signed the documents or authorized anyone to sign on our behalf. We were initially sent the documents to sign, but neither of us did so. Within minutes of each other, we received completed versions showing our signatures. The documents were also cataloged as being executed from the same IP address, despite my guarantor and me being in different locations. I immediately contacted management in writing and specifically requested an explanation of how these documents were executed. Their response did not address the signature issue at all. I found this extremely concerning and immediately withdrew my application. The rest of the application process was also unnecessarily difficult. I initially provided a qualified guarantor, was then required to provide a second guarantor, and after doing so was additionally required to obtain an out-of-pocket guarantee policy, despite having already satisfied the guarantor requirements presented to me. There was also a change to the agreed-upon move-in date. Before submitting my application to management, the leasing agent explicitly confirmed that my lease start date would be October 3. After my application was submitted and reviewed by management, I was told the date would instead be October 1. I am sharing my experience so prospective renters can be aware of what occurred and carefully document every step of their application process with this management company if you choose to proceed with them.

He'll send you matches through the app and respond to your comments so when you are finally ready, he knows what you're looking for.
