While this Von's store is attractive and clean, the management leaves a lot to be desired. On a busy Sunday afternoon, there were only three checkers and baggers were no where to be found. I had to bag my own groceries - not my favorite thing to do as a paying customer. Prior to that, I had to stop my shopping cart abruptly when a young man from the produce department stepped right in my path as if he didn't see me! Do customers not rate in this store? Great grocery store, great selection of beer and meat, great for bbqing. Nice flowers, not the best kinda old but I've gotten them for my gf a few times and she liked them. My only complaint is that there is a lack of cashier's on duty so the lines become gigantic so I generally avoid busy hours in this location. Please please pleaseeeeeeeeee get it together! There is currently one line open with about 20 people in line. It's so close to my house but I would rather drive out to western to go to the Albertsons. Also the employees here sometimes seem like the Management isn't very good. The small Philippine women always has a less than friendly demeanor and never smiles and I think she is a supervisor. If you want a decent store that's open late in the area, this is it. I'd rather go to Sprouts, but this one is open a lot later, so it gets my business frequently. It's quite decent, the cashiers and other employees are really nice and courteous the absolute majority of the time, which is rare for Vons, especially the shithole that's located on Gaffey St. Here the parking lot is clean and no bums or druggies. At least I haven't noticed any. Don't feel unsafe going there at night. The store is clean and organized quite well. Produce always looks pretty good... The prices are inflated for the most part, so do make sure you get the Von's "Club card" and fish for deals. Four stars only because it's probably the best market in the vicinity. read more

After 10 years of shopping at this Von's, we're done. Just tired of uncaring employees and outrageously long lines. We went in after church to pick up a few items and ended up waiting 35 minutes in line. And it was the Express line! It only took us 10 minutes to pick up what we needed. When we finally got to the check out I overheard the two slow moving checkers talking about the long lines and indicating they didn't care. I forgot our bags in the car, so the cashier charged us for two bags and allowed me the privilege of bagging my own groceries. To her it was almost like we weren't there at all. Fine supermarket. Not so crowded and less riff raff than the one on Gaffey. Very professional staff.

Store is dirty and the checkout stands are disgusting. No one even attempts to clean them or the credit/debit machines. They let too many shoppers in at once, so it's impossible to practice social distancing. I will be avoiding this store from now on. read more

I needed a cake for my daughter last minute same day and I was not able to find one locally until I spoke to Christina in the bakery. Christina last minute was able to make a cake for my daughter on the spot and was very friendly and courteous and went above and beyond on the final product and I am very grateful for such great customer service and the cake looks badass ! read more

I shop at this vons weekly. And every time I have to go to the deli it's miserable when the older lady slavica is working. She is always RUDE and will ignore you until she can't anymore then had an attitude when you need to order meats from the deli. It's like she's doing you a favor to get your food that your ordering. She is the only rude one in the deli everyone else is great and helpful .. her customer service is probably the worse I have ever seen in a grocery store deli for someone that has to work with people she is seriously lacking. My suggestion.. get rid of her .. I am at the point where I'd rather drive across town and go to Albertsons just to get better customer service and I live less then 5 min from vons on 25th. Everywhere I went seemed unable to create the look I want. My mom happened to call Vons and spoke with Christina who she said was beyond helpful! We went up to the store today to place the order and spoke with Christina. Not only did she say they could create the cake I want but she made such fantastic suggestions and was so nice. She knows her stuff!! She came up with ideas that I know will look great. She really listened and made sure we were happy with the choices. I trust her expertise! This is about the ridiculous deli staff. Went In today for 3 things. Turkey and 2 different cheeses. Took 15 minutes to get those 3 things with no one in front of me. Hot food is ok (at times) but by no means should you buy meat from this store. I have tried this location multiple times and I've noticed that the butcher's here use deceptive techniques when selling meat. The most recent visit on Valentine's day I purchased a pack of 4 T-bones and the top T-bone (one showing) was pretty as could be but the other three T-bones that were packaged in such a way where they were hiding all brown spots, on another visit this same location used a large piece of cut meat to cover up the brown meat sold in the steaks and on a separate time they used a large piece of cut fat added underneath the steaks to add weight. This is a bummer for me because I live close to this location but I will not ever purchase another piece of meat from here. I recommend smart and final or Ralphs as alternatives. read more

I have many grocery options nearby, but I have been shopping at this Vons location for many years because the staff here seem like members of the family. I hope the Management and further up the Vons ladder show much as much appreciation for the team at San Pedro location on 25th St. as I try to do because they truly deserve it. They are more essential than ever and have worked especially hard to ease the community into all these changes. They've been so flexible and have all had great attitudes despite all the changes. They represent the spirit of this town, they don't back down from hard work and they've shown such loyalty. I'm praying they receive the same loyalty back. Thanks especially to Luna for always saying hi and remembering me. I can't think of a time I shopped and did not end up at her register, and it's those familiar faces that keep me coming back. I thought long and hard about writing this review. Mainly because I love some of the checkers, and have always liked the Manager. She is always trying to keep up on the store, constantly walking around, answering questions and making sure employees are on point. But the store has went downhill now. Cluttered aisles, rude deli workers, people asking you to move so they can get to the shelf to stock while you are shopping, the pharmacy is awful now. read more

This is one of the worst pharmacies I ever dealt with some of the employees are liars. Some of the others are totally incompetent and very condescending. I will not be going back I'll have my prescriptions transferred anywhere. I will be writing a letter several letters to the CEO of Vons let him know what kind of incompetency is going on in his pharmacy. my family and i shop at vons daily. in the past month or 2 i proceded through the self check out and was a little puzzled by the price. i only had 3 small items and one of them was on sale. i added it up in my head like always and im aware that sales tax has went up but i wasnt gonna just let this go. so i canceled and waited for the employee to come help me. i said hey this doesnt seem right. well i was right i was charged double but i didnt scan twice i had one of each item on screen.. whatever happeneed it was pretty smooth and like i said this was the second time and it malkes me wonder how many other times has this happened or how many oither people people did it happen to. somtimes we dont tally up in our heads and we are in a rush... so all im saying is pay attention people because it could be a malfuntion it could be a error or it could be a scam... being the day and age we are living in if you havent noticed there is alot of strange things happening all over our planet. we are going from bad to worse. we must be alert and pay attention. im so sorry i didnt call for manager and make a deal over it so it doesnt happen again or to anyone else. because the excuse i was givin also didnt add up. bottom line i would of paid double $80 for only $40 worth of mechandice which is already over priced . read more

Hey, no one likes going to the grocery at 6am, but I needed to get some quick items and be out of the store, since my favorite Albertson's was not yet open. So, I'm waiting at the empty checkout for ten minutes and the only person near the register was so busy at the lottery ticket machines that she foolishly loses sight of customers in line to check out! When I patiently waited for her to turn around so I could get her attention, this Asian woman wearing thick eyeliner did not bother to greet me, I had to ask her to get someone to check me out. She grumbled, I'll call someone but she never did! How rude is that? So a younger lady came by and called for checkout but no one ever came. I just left in absolute disbelief ... the young lady, Sara, at the register said but 2 words to me the entire transaction as she proceeded to THROW my groceries down the belt. I had asked her for bags .. nothing ....she preceeded to ignore me continue to throw my items .. so I started grabbing my own bags and packing up my stuff.... at the end she decided to grab one bag and throw stuff into that after I had packed my own other 7 bags ... absolutely rude ... lost complete touch with their customers ... at least say hello before you throw my groceries ?? read more

This Vons has no respect for the community it serves. After losing the nearby Albertson's and the blink and you missed it Haagen, they have had plenty of time to adjust to the new volume of people they are now serving. Today, once again, empty meat and poultry department and empty shelves at 12:45 In the afternoon. I waited 17 minutes in check out line to reach the cashier while three cashier stands were dark. This is random- but depending on who makes your sandwhich here, the chicken artichoke sandwich is really good. It takes a while to make and one worker told me he doesn't like making it because it is a pain, but it is really good. Sometimes I add avocado to it, but it is just as good when you get it how it is normally prepared. Chicken, artichoke, marinated mozzarella, aoli--on a soft roll! They had all the ingredients (American AND ASIAN....impressive) at Vons. Veggies, beef, noodles, sauces, seasonings, EVERYTHING WE NEEDED. I even picked up a few things we didn't need like them tasty cheese danishes we don't have in Hawaii. They also have firewood stacked in the front if you need some for your bon fire. I never used to like this Vons (although better than the one on Gaffey) I wanted to like it because it is super convenient being the closest store to my house but the parking lot is always packed and the lines were always long no matter what time of day. Which sucks when you have a toddler that hates to sit in a cart! Plus, Vons is just more pricey in general. (Even with the Just for U offers) So we have been shopping elsewhere for months. However, today, I ran in to grab a couple things and noticed they made some changes. They have a bigger organic section, they now carry lavender kombucha for less than Whole Foods or Sprouts, and they carry a few more specialty items like Tessames salad dressing (also at a better price). I am happy with these changes so maybe this will become my "go to" spot for last minute things again. Also, this is one of the few locations (besides Costco) that I have found the fresh Tortilla Land tortillas. read more

This place is home to some of the most friendly staff I've encountered. The food, even packaged, is always fresh. Nice fruit and vegetables! The store is always well kept and clean. The only downside is the long lines on weekends but that can be said for most supermarkets on weekends. Better than Ralph's and pavilions stores nearby. Highly recommend shopping here. read more
