The vons Deli on Central in Riverside did me a HUGE disservice. On Thursday February 25th , close to noon, I stopped by the Deli to get SLICED SIRLOIN ROASTBEEF.. it was not in the Deli display so I showed the gal on my phone the text of exactly what I needed..and she went to a back room and got a new unit of beef.. she didn't show me the label or anything and sliced it up. However, when I got home and we went to make and eat our sandwiches, we noted its THE WRONG ROAST BEEF... instead, she gave me Primo Taglio Roast beef. It's awful, and WAY TOO SALTY for us to eat. I had purchased 2 lbs , so she gave me $28.00 worth of THE WRONG STUFF. She was also the MOST impersonal employee to work in the Deli. She barely could manage to glance at me, while she and a co-worker guy were busy pointing at (several times) and talking about this tall very skinny woman customer in a straight summer dress , as she walked by. I thought it was extremely rude and didn't know why they were doing this. At the moment I'm still very angry and disgusted with her giving me $28.00 worth of roastbeef we can't eat!! How much worse could an experience and service at Vons possibly get?! I hope that Vons management will look into this. I feel robbed!! read more

The prices for Vins grocery a higher than most grocery stores. I've shopped here a few times only to get exactly what I needed that I knew either only they had or the price was lower than most. The main thing I come for is the fresh sushi trays. The prices range from $6-$13. Not sure how they price it, because there will be two of the same trays with two different prices. Hello good morning ! I have been to this grocery store three times and I love it! Good variety of food ! Always clean at this location ! Not bad parking !! I love coming here how ever some of the workers are not soooo great. Today at 9:55 am at checkout this lady in black her hair was brown in a bun and she had like a glittery lanyard. She looked pretty young I wanna say late 20s early 30s .She was nice to the guy before us and ignored my husband and I when we said "good morning how's your day !" This African American gentleman came to bag our groceries and he asked if one of the bags was ours and the cashier snagged the bag out of his hands very aggressively and the gentleman looked at me confused and was like "what did I do ?" I was appalled by this behavior!!!! Idk if she's a worker or a manager but my husband is of color and we are both tattooed and we felt very judged on how we looked and I honestly feel that this woman was racist. the guy she was super nice to before us was white. So I never am really one to shop at Vons because to be honest it's on the pricer side of grocery shopping! This location is actually very nice. The staff is friendly and the store is super clean. Even the bathrooms are clean which is a bonus for grocery store restrooms! I can to visit this location because my boyfriend and I are currently playing the Monopoly play and win game so we have been visiting different stores to get Monopoly pieces. when I came into the store to collect my game board pieces I really liked that the check out stand woman was very nice and unlike other stores gave me the correct amount of game pieces. She was not irritated as some store workers are at other locations. So I appreciated her patience. If I lived in riverside I would shop at this location more often and encourage you to do the same. read more

The selection at this location is decent, but the layout of this store is unlike any market I have been in and it is challenging to navigate. They also don't stock baking pumpkins, only carving pumpkins, which is silly in my opinion as it is a grocery store. I won't be returning for my regular weekly shopping. read more

I experienced peak Vons today. I was at Trader Joe's and thinking about picking up some ham, but $4.99 was a bit too much. Afterwards, I was walking by Vons anyway and figured I'd stop in and see if that ham was on sale. And it was! The sale dropped the Vons price on the exact same ham all the way down to...$6.99. This is not at all atypical for Vons. There's no real reason to shop here when you can get the same groceries for far less at Ralph's, Trader Joe's, or (if you want to make the trip out there) WinCo. read more

Here's your Xmas story: I forgot my wallet at home and discovered this in line at Trader Joes. What do they do? Allow me to walk-out with $50 worth of groceries and pay the next day. But wait! I still had shopping to do at VONS next door so I decided to visit and inquire if they too would allow me to shop and return. The manager Joshua said: I am sorry. Our policy is nothing leaves the store without being paid for but I will tell you what I will do. I'll pay for your items and you can come in Monday and pay me. What a class act! REVIEW ONLY FOR "GRAB AND GO" (a.k.a. pick-up services) I bought 3 items (lobste, steak, and butter). I received a text that my purchase was ready for pick-up. I got to the store parking lot and called the # posted up on the parking lot sign. After waiting at least 10 minutes, a worker came out and told me that they only had the butter. MY ORDER WASN'T READY FOR PICK UP. I asked for a refund on the butter and the worker said okay with no instructions on what happens next (like how I was getting my refund). I left the store and the worker calls me that she refunded the butter and I asked if I'll get the receipt by email and she said no but I can get the hard copy version. So, I had to drive back to store to get the hard copy version of the receipt. WHAT A WASTE OF TIME. Safeway (VONS) need to upgrade their "pick up" operation. I believe that they should contact their customers when the order can be fulfilled and send refund receipts via email. read more

Friendly service. The sandwich counter is by far the best i've ever experienced at a Von's. Maybe they're a little heavy handed with the spreads but that's A-OK with me. Brand new store is well maintained and kept clean 24/7. High end selections as well as their own store brand (i've purchased many safeway brand items and they've never disappointed!) Lots of parking options although its in the shopping center so you'll sometimes find movie-goers parking here as well. read more

I have been shopping here for years. It is right off the freeway on way home. The store seems dark inside. This Vons used to be better, but nowadays service is bad cashiers are slow And somewhat impersonal. Hard to find assistance when needed Ballon and flower counter seems to be unattended after 700pm. They leave a sign Togo to customer service desk, but lady there diles not want to help you with balloons. It is a shame. Iris not like rocket science. Just inflate the ballon and tied a piece of string. It just lack of customer service Tou also find expired staff on the dairy section. And produce. I feel bad as this is my local store and I frequently shop here but I feel it is necessary to vocalize my frustrations. Nearly every time I go in here the women act as if I am an inconvenience when I need to check out. They consistently have long lines and getting ahold of anyone in the deli is a joke and there is always mold on the produce. I am so disappointed in this store. The Starbucks employees and about 2 nice lady cashiers are about the only good things this store has going for them (I wish I knew their names). I shop at this location regularly and never had a problem with any one. JoJo, is my favorite cashier. I was shopping there on a Friday and bought a Boston Cream pie but when they packed it it got ruined so I get back on line and they told to get another one, when I was leaving the store this very rude employee by the name of Lydia, starts to check my bags and said, did you pay for the cake, she did not ask for a receipt she assumed I stole it and it made me feel very uncomfortable. Came to pick up a strip-loin from the meat department, first encounter; DAVID, the head meat department guy it seemed ( not calling him a butcher for he does not deserve that title) first questioned me wanting the whole strip saying "it has the bone running through it, you sure you know what you're doing?" I would like to say that I am very much impressed with this store. I came in for a few things after work and was amazed by the customer service. I went to the produce section and was helped immediately to find what I was looking for. And when it was time to check out, the service was fast and friendly. Hi yesterday I ordered a cake for my daughters one year old birthday . I specifically showed the lady a picture on how I wanted it I wanted it with flowers all over the cake . I asked for whip cream instead of butter cream . And so when I showed her the picture of what I wanted she said we would be able to do that but the colors would be sprayed on . I said ok do u think it's just better to go one solid color she said that they would be able to do ombré . I said ok let's do ombré purple to pink with flowers she said ok what kind of cake I said chocolate and vanilla and the filling I would like strawberries with raspberry filling . I said I would like happy birthday Emma on it. So when I had my uncle pick it up today around 4:30ish it looked like crap when I got it there were no flowers on it at all the writing on it looked like a little kid wrote it on there the whip cream was all messy . And when I cut it there was barely any filling barely a sliver and I had a 10inch cake . I thought me ordering from vons my cake would come out good and nicely decorated but no it was the ugliest cake I have ever gotten and I wanted something nice for my daughters 1 year birthday . Today was my last time shopping at Vons. 6 months ago, I stopped buying their meat because it was old and sometimes spoiled. Recently,The last two times I went for produce, it was not fresh. I walked out. The "Fresh" produce is wilted and yellow leaves. The $5 juicing greens are old, wilted, yellowing and starting to dehydrated. I refuse to pay their high prices for low quality foods. I ordered a 3 tier red velvet and chocolate cake from the bakery for my wedding on July 10,2019 I placed the order 3/4 weeks prior. I ordered the cake because I enjoy the pastries and cakes from here. Anyhow The cake was 12/10/8 inch round cake. I paid $110.00 plus 24 red velvet cupcakes my total was around $135.00. I was so disappointed when I saw the cake and the cake was so dry. The edges were burnt. I can't express how disappointed I was In Vons bakery. I really want to like Vons. I'm usually a Stater Brothers shopper, but we've been going to Vons more and more lately, specifically because they carry Dietz & Watson lunch meats, which we really like. But...the service for getting deli meats is consistently terrible. It's pretty much like being at the DMV, but worse. It's so bad and inefficient that I'm beginning to wonder if they do it on purpose to discourage people from ordering deli meats. Why would they do that? I don't know, but that's how bad it's been. What specifically is so bad? 1) It takes forever. Even if there's no one in line, it routinely takes at least 20 minutes. 2) Most of the workers seem like they detest the fact you're ordering deli meats. 3) We are routinely given the wrong lunch meats. I'm only writing this in the hopes that something can be done about it. There is one worker who is always great and attentive...I wish I could remember her name...but she unfortunately hardly works the deli counter anymore. Vons, please improve on this....it will help me overlook the often wilted lettuce and turned vegetables in the produce section. read more

I came in for $3 off $20 purchase and The girl came with a calculator and added up all my groceries and said I only spent $ 18 that was covered under this "deal" I made my total $35 adding stuff I didn't really need. She still gave me trouble. I hope this location goes out of business soon. we have shopped at this Vons for many years. the fried chicken was the best. we would drive 8 miles to this store just for the chicken and than do more shopping. this weekend sat 5/18/23 was very disappointing. we ordered 18 pieces of fried chicken mixed to get home and it was horrible. not only that it's over 9 dollars for 8 pieces but to be dry chicken inside and the breading so hard and overcooked you couldn't eat it. even the Breast weren't salvageable. it will be a long time before we will shop at Vons again. most weekends there was none prepared because the fry guy was late or he had too many other things he had to do. but now I see that the chicken is not important to Vons any longer. if you can't cook it right at those prices quit cooking it. Well, if you've lived in the Inland Empire you know that Stater Bros dominates the grocery store landscape here. And quite frankly, they suck. But this Vons (one of the few in the area) is brand spanking new (following the Riverside Plaza renovation), offering a clean grocery shopping experience, a choice from the Staters monopoly, fresh produce (such as mint leaves) you can't get at other stores, high-end brands you can't get anywhere else in the area, and nice customer service. I was taking a lunch break with my son and decided to stop by to get some sushi and a lunchable. Well the sushi that I wanted didn't have any sauce. I literally just wanted some yummy sauce drizzled on the rolls but was told that they couldn't do it because the sushi guy wasn't there.,.. all they had to do was open the package and put the sauce. They wanted to call the guy off of his break to come POUR sauce on the sushi rolls . I guess that was too much to handle. I just said no thank you and left uncomfortable as hell. The quality is great and the people are nice. Love the Starbucks. Sunday meat deals are very good but I have been boycotting this store for months. Check out lines are long and the store is relying on self check out during off hours. The one or two checkers they do have seem to be working slower to "encourage" you to use self check out. Self check out is a scam. Trying to boost the bottom line by cutting customer service (staff). A little macro economic theory to provide good wages so workers spend their money as customers with multiplier effects on each transactions creates economic growth with again creates more jobs and customers. The 15 Items or less check out had some lady with like 100 items in her cart and the checker said nothing while she SLOWLY set each item on the belt taking her SWEET time. I finally stepped over to another checkout line with no wait. I dislike stores with "Rewards" or "Club" cards. They are NOT cheaper, they track ALL your shopping habits and then the checkout lady asked for for money at the register for 'some charity.' I dunno, after spending a lot of money on groceries, I have no interest in joining clubs or donating money. I ONLY shop here in a big ol pinch, and pinched you'll get ... I'm on a health kick and have been buying TONS of Organic produce and vegetables from Ralph's. I THOUGHT Vons would have a better selection because Vons has been classically known to have the best selection. Vons always has higher prices but when I go there I'm willing to pay for it. This Bons has the worst selection of ORGANIC foods. I wished I just left and went to Ralph's. The kiwi LOOKED genetically modified pr like it was forced to be grown. It had no color, flavor or texture. The store was clean snd the service was excellent. I'm guessing they only stock what the people want and in this low income area no one wants vegetables especially not organic. I guess I'm off to sprouts snd Whole Foods to spend my money! read more
