The cashier refused to scan my digital gift card on my phone. I was forced to drive to Staples and pay to use their expensive internet to print out the same damn barcode that was already on my phone screen!! PLEASE TRAIN YOUR EMPLOYEES ON HOW TO USE MODERN TECHNOLOGY! Terrible experience, the employees didn't even make an effort to scan the barcode on the phone, they flat out refused. read more

I shop here regularly and this is my favorite grocery store. I do all the grocery shopping for my family. The staff is always pleasant and helpful and the store is always nice and clean. I also love the fact that there's a Starbucks right inside the store and cupholders in every cart. This makes it perfect for those long shopping trips. I highly recommend this Vons. read more

The store has a horrible customer experience. All of the self serve checkouts were broken, and they had a shortage of checkers. It is Mother's Day morning and they are clearly unprepared for the day. Fix the self service lines orBring in more checkers. If you are going to take away checkstands in favor of self service then you have to compensate when things are broken. I am waiting on a self check out when the light still on, but about 1 min later the casher toll me said" this line is cloesd", loud and rude. so i wait 1min for nothing. why dont you told me when i try to step on the line. what wrong here, everybody know the light is on(it's on, not mean flash) mean the line still open. maybe in vons there some different rule but we never know. won't go back any more read more

The employees are VERY nice and VERY helpful. If you are sick of feeling like the employees at the big chains act as though they are doing YOU the favor, this is the place to come. Truly remarkable and very positive. I love the little Starbucks sitting area too. read more

Really don't like this grocery store. Everytime I'm there they are out of stuff I need. A few of the cashiers are really creepy, the one guy continues to question my age a million times while I'm in line in an extremely rude way. BLEH. Go to the Ralphs down the street. Too many creepy people shop here. read more

This Vons is nicely centrally located and easy when you've forgotten a gift, flowers, bottle of wine for an event. It's difficult at times to find parking because of it's proximity to the marketplace. It's a decent Vons; don't shop here too often but I will say the workers are very sweet and attentive. read more

My only complaint is the dry cleaners. I started using the service because it was convenient and I shop regularly in the store. I brought in a pair of expensive slacks to be dry cleaned. After picking them up, I realized they'd simply been laundered (not dry cleaned) and pressed. How would I know this? My expensive slacks (purchased at Nordstrom's) had been shrunk. I have two other pairs of the same size slacks and the "cleaned" pair are now tight and very uncomfortable. I'll continue to shop there but never will I use their other services. read more

Love the Starbucks inside, and the flower section. If you want flowers at lower the cost than florist prices, head here. They had wide selection of tulips, orchids, and different in season flowers. Although, the parking lot is very busy as it is located in a very busy Riverside Plaza. read more

To start off I love how clean and well maintained the store is but customer service is simply horrible. The deli section workers are never available and always in the back. If someone sees you they just try to hide again and don't wanna be seen. Then those employees who do step behind the counter don't help. I believe her name was Alicia who's the employee there. She was restocking the island in front of the deli section and walked behind the counter, sliced some ham for her friend, rang her up at the register here and then left the area as if we were never here. Then after we did receive help, the lady behind the counter was giving us attitude cause she had to work. It seems that all the employees do here is chit chat and hide instead of working. Like I said. I love vons but if this is the type of customer service they are training. I'll gladly spend my money elsewhere. read more

Very bad experience. I have shopped here many times with no issue nice staff, but walked in last night and I wasn't even the purchaser I was there with my fiancé and be cause I didn't have my I.d she could buy alcohol which was for here( she had her I.d) . Love this store. Only issue is when I do most of my shopping they only have self checkout or 15 items or less line. Great but I never buy 15 items or less. What is a mom to do? I can't do self checkout because groceries won't all fit on the bagging area. Great now everyone is looking because the machine us yelling at me for removing my bags before I pay to make room for the rest of groceries. But then if I go in the 15 and less line I get dirty looks. Now I am embarrassed. So to improve customer service I would suggest looking into a solution. read more

Everyone is so helpful and it's wayyy better than Ralphs around the corner. The only problem I have is the donut/danish doors had small nats flying around in it and I saw a few embedded in the pink frosted donuts... not pretty. Good prices and friendly staff... just don't buy donuts from the bakery. read more

Haven't really had any issues with the actual grocery store however, the Starbucks supervisor is EXTREMELY rude. Not just to customers but to her employees. I finally witnessed her speaking to someone who appeared to be higher up than her (maybe store manager) and the way she interacted with him was a lot different than she is with everyone else. I still continue to come here because the rest of the staff is so sweet. I just know if it's her at the counter my experience just won't be the same. read more

I have been coming to this Vons for years...so why feel the need to finally review it? Well, although the only real complaint I can ever make about this place is that sometimes the lines are long and they don't open other check-stands...it's not often, and I don't like to complain for small things like that. The employees are usually always friendly also, but yesterday I went grocery shopping and the staff that checked me out was beyond awesome. Being in customer service all my life myself, he really impressed me. Andrew White was the staff that assisted me. The lines were long but he was quick. He was very friendly, went above and beyond. He checked my eggs before having them bagged, commented on items I was purchasing, asked how my day was, and even commented on my total saved...sometimes the warm smiles and genuine interest in people is all it takes to be outstanding. At the end, he made sure I didn't need help to my car. He was the same way with the two people before me also so it really shows what a great personality he has. Would definitely give this experience more stars if I could. Although the wait is longer sometimes, I don't mind, especially if this is the experience I will get. read more

I much prefer this store to a large chain neighboring store. Though I hate the self check-out, it is a modern, clean store with very friendly staff. Today there were not enough of them though. Apparently people were out sick and management did not call in extra help. Staff did their best, but you could tell they were frustrated. At other times, I have noticed management is slow to respond to lines by opening other registers. Self check-out is not the answer and is a poor substitute, especially when you have a lot of items, or have produce. I have started shopping at another competitor's store more frequently because of some of these problems. read more

I've been coming her for about 3 years. I haven't had any complaints until recently. I have purchased food items there 3 times since the beginning of the year that have been expired. I guess I should always double check the expiration dates but I feel like that is something I shouldn't have to worry about since it's a higher end store. Earlier this week, I went in to get some candy as treats for a birthday party and among the regular kit Kats there's Valentine and autumn themed candies. I looked and the expiration date was later this month. I thought grocery stores mark down the holiday items to just get rid of them so they're not taking up space in the store. I guess I just expect more from a store like Von's. I sure pay more to shop there. read more

Made an appointment a month in advance for a wedding consultation with the manager of the florist department Ash Marie. Went the day of and she never showed up. She never called to cancel or reschedule. A worker noticed I was waiting by the flowers and asked if she could help me. I let her know I had an appointment and that's when she stated the manager wasn't coming in. I left my number and I never received a call. This Vons is quite upscale and fancy. There is a good deli, floral department, and a big selection of organic food under the O Organics brand (and others). The staff is hit or miss, but I'm not too concerned about that, because I can find stuff on my own and don't really interact much. Use the Vons card and the Just4U app, after you go there a few times it "learns" what you buy and gives you discounts accordingly. read more

I'll give it a zero star if I could. I arrived at the store and hardly anybody there and not surprising after my experience! Customer service sucks and don't know math! I bought tide and it said "buy one get one free" right above the item at 7.99 each but guess what? It did not take get one free at the counter so I asked the CS and they said it was not for the tide it was for the item above the tide shelf so I said "but it says right above the product "buy one get one free" and the staff responded to me saying, "well it didn't say tide on the tag" well it didn't say any specific product on the tag either!!! So I decided the return the item and this is the most interesting part. I used a $2.00 coupon when I made the purchase so they refunded 5.99 which is fine but I deserve to get my coupon back-simple math. But no, 2 of the staff said that if they paid me back 7.99 then I get my coupon back. Where did u guys learned your math and logic!? Even my 4th grade son figured this out! So finally they called the manager and explained the correct math to this idiots! (Excuse my language). Never coming back there ever! read more
