We travel on Vonlane a few times a year, and our experiences have all been great! Today the attendant from Houston to Austin was so awesome. Her name is Sai (sp?) and she greeted us with a smile that was so uplifting! She came by several times with the many offered amenities and just made our trip a pleasure. I would honestly rather take Vonlane than fly! Can't wait for our next Vonlane adventure! Also kudos to the driver who left on time and made sure we had a safe trip! read more

Update on Vonlane. When the news of an arctic front was coming to the hill country in TX last week, my wife and I were in Houston for work. We had intended to fly back that Wednesday but when the weather turned bad, we had to get back to the hill country. We cancelled our Wednesday flight and booked on Vonlane that day, Monday. They were conveniently picking up passengers at the Galleria at the Hyatt on Sage Rd. The ride was great - my wife was able to work on her laptop until her battery ran low, by then pretty close to San Antonio. The reason for this review is not about the ride. Their coaches are first class so the ride is always great. In our haste to get out and get to the hill country, I forgot my leather hat where I sat. I realized that I forgot my hat while in an Uber car so I called Vonlane customer service. I told them about leaving my hat in the coach where I sat. The person I talked to was very responsive and she was going to check on it. The next day, I was told that they did find my hat and with the ice storm and everything, I could not reclaim my hat until today, Sunday! I was told that today would be a good day to pick it up so I did! The Vonlane coach was there, knocked on the door and told the person that answered that I was there to reclaim my hat. They said they had it and brought it to me! Of course, I gave a tip to the crew because I was glad to get a favorite hat back! Overall, the customer service of Vonlane went above and beyond what I thought it would be. I never thought I'd see my hat again but when they handed it to me today, it was wrapped in plastic with my name, phone number and other data to identify who I was. What a service! I tried Vonlane because a coworker recommended it and I have really grown to hate the drive to Houston, especially after driving less due to work from home during the pandemic. The bus promptly took off and arrived according to schedule. Service was very polite and yet staff is not allowed to accept tips. Snacks, non alcoholic beverages and lunch was included in the ticket price for the 10am ride. Most everyone on the bus was female, younger, and appeared to be traveling for business or school. They also accept drink tickets from airlines but the alcohol selection isn't as extensive as say, Southwest Airlines. The bathroom was clean and the bus didn't have any odd odors. The right side of the bus has a single row of seats and the left side has rows or two seats side by side. There is also one table with four reserved seats in the back. I originally had a single seat but was allowed to move to an empty row of two seats so that I could place by bags on the seat by me. The leather seats have a foot rest, there are charging outlets and plenty of leg room. I had no trouble working online off my laptop with the free WiFi. I would definitely take the Vonlane since it took nearly the same amount of time as arriving early to go through security, flying, and waiting for luggage at the airport for a flight to Houston. read more

My first trip on the Vonlane and so far nothing has gone right! Delayed bus without notice, no response from Customer Service. No attendant on Board.......I am shocked we were asked to arrive at least 15 minutes early or we would be left, no exceptions! We followed their Rules, but no bus arrived from Vonlane. We called and emailed then FINALLY got notice that the bus was delayed! It advertises as a luxury bus and charges quite a bit for a ticket (same as an airline ticket), so you would think Customer Service should be a priority! Wanting to avoid the airport I was searching for a quick way to get to San Antonio from Houston. So luck to have found Vonlane. Absolutely the only way to travel to San Antonio. While $99 one way may be a stretch for some, the comfort and service was extraordinary. I literally can say that during the 3 hour ride I felt like I was sitting on first class on Cathay Pacific or Asiana Airlines. The chairs are SUPER duper comfy, you can stretch out, recline and there's TV and WIFI. OMG I can't say enough good things about my experience. From the awesome luxury attendant to the specialty snacks tray, custom and free drinks (from gingerale to fresh pressed juice to hot cocoa) to the cranberry turkey sandwich, wraps and the tray full of free eye masks, toothbrushes and if you can believe it Dramamine, this first class shuttle service has everything you could want for such a short trip. When you want to enjoy traveling like it was in the old days, this is a world class experience with first class service worth every penny. read more

Hit or miss- depending on which model bus you get. My most recent trip was not good. I got a different model bus (which I fear may be the new model) and it did not have the attachable desk tray that served as a height-appropriate desk. Also, the seat was stuck in a reclined position that was not conducive for sitting upright and working. I asked the attendant how to make the seat more upright, and she told me it was as "upright as it gets." To my dismay there was no attachable desk tray. I asked the attendant about that and she produced a small lap pad (the kind with padding on one side and a plastic board on the other. This was not a desk. I don't know why they got rid of those attachable desks but it is quite disappointing. read more

I dropped my mom off for the Vonlane in San Antonio to take her back to Houston yesterday and she had yet another wonderful experience! Apparently it was pouring rain when they arrived in Houston and she told me that Greg(driver) and Andie(attendant), not only helped her get an Uber, but also waited with her, in the rain, until her Uber arrived. She's 79 and her mobility is not the best, so knowing she received this kind of care and regard makes me incredibly grateful and thankful. That's my mom after all...the most precious woman in my life. We are both beyond impressed with their service and will continue to be Vonlane customers for her usual Houston to Austin round trips to see me and her grandson. Thank you Greg and Andie! Vonlane - Transportation Near Me

A friend told me about this luxury motor coach that will drive me to Houston for $79. I checked it out online and it looked amazing. Well it's more than amaze! I ubered to the Marriott river center and waited for the motor coach in the very nice little Starbucks within the hotel. The motor coach arrives 15 mins for departure and takes off right on time. The inside of the bus is first class all the way. See the photos for the gorgeous leather seats, incredibly roomy. I can stretch my legs all the way out and can't reach seat in front of me. On my ride there were so few people, I could move to row with no one in it and use two seats. They provide water and snacks immediately. My trip is a longer trip so they also provided sandwiches and wraps! They have xm radio with noise cancelling headphones - if you know me you know I love Yacht Rock radio on XM so I am pretty pleased yacht rocking it in the luxury coach on the way to Htown!!! The bus tour guide is amazing!!! This is the only way to go! They also go to Austin and Dallas! Yay Vonlane!!! read more

I don't normally write yelp reviews but I feel like this is an exception. This is really the only way to travel between San Antonio and Houston. The attendant was very nice and accommodating. The seats are great. It's like having your own la-z-boy recliner. The foot rest comes up where I can stretch my legs out straight and it also reclines. The attendant came and offered meals (sandwiches, salads, and wraps) and drinks. There is also free wifi. I was on my laptop and the attendant offered a laptop lap cushion so that it's easier to work! I will take Vonlane whenever I have to travel between cities in Texas instead of flying or driving. read more

Great service, friendly attendants and comfortable chairs. They need to work on their cleaning however, both trips I took the seats and cup holders were grimy. Also, on one of my trips (SA to Houston) the WiFi didn't work for streaming and their TV and media systems were both down, which was inconvenient. read more

The only negative is that the experience has to end! Productivity is a breeze with comfy laptop trays, the leather recliners, and a meal that's tasty, filling enough, but not overwhelming. I loved traveling by Vonlane. The legroom was just as advertised - spacious, even with the footrest up! I was very comfortable. There was an attendant who met all my needs (blanket, water, snacks).
