After several years of flooding in my basement and seeking assistance from multiple plumbers across…read morethe area, I finally had someone come out who took my issue seriously. Mike was my Drain Tech and he was the absolute best. Not only did he take the time to really listen to my concerns, he was empathetic as he explained to me what needed to be done. Never in my life have I been so happy about having repair work done in my home. I am really looking forward to gaining some peace of mind. Others literally just came out and did what they were asked. If I suggested something or asked what else I could do, I was always greeted with a stale response. I'm a big believer that great service comes from a persons sincerity and how they treat others. Chesterfield Service seriously passed the vibe check. I will definitely be in touch for other things.

Blake was the service technician that arrived at my home this morning to address several plumbing…read moreissues I had, faucet concerns and replacement. He was very polite and respectful while in my home, even wearing protective shoe covers. He arrived at 8:00am as scheduled and spent 2 hours completing a "Home Diagnostic Inspection" which included examining all my hot water heaters and ALL plumbing fixtures throughout my home which I was not expecting. He then presented me with a service plan at $60 per month for a maintenance plan which gave me a discount on future services (10%) and a 50% discount on the service call fee of $119.00. He also gave me a bid on replacement cost for several faucets which I felt was a little bit higher than I was willing to pay. He said I could buy my own parts but the installation charge would be higher. I told him "Thank you but no thank you". He gave me a bid for the removal and installation of the 'Insinkerator' instant hot water dispenser that I had already purchased. The bid was extremely higher than I ever expected! But, the technician was here and I wanted it done, however I only elected to have ONE faucet replaced which made the price go up! Long story short, I was charged $815.36 for the installation which took One Hour and Fifteen minutes (I provided the part). In addition to this, I was charged $119.00 for the service call fee! I paid a total of $934.36 and 2/3 of the time he was here was spent on trying to sell me a service plan for my plumbing, H-Vac system as well as my electrical needs for $60 A MONTH! Then, you get a whopping 10% discount on the service call fee! I calculated that this service call was $12.47 per minute! I contacted the company customer service representative to talk about what I thought was an extremely high charge and all she could offer was that they have to pay for gas, tools and expenses! She also reminded me that I signed and agreed to the bid (she told me this 5 times). I told her I DID agree that that was their bid and I paid it! I did not agree that it was a fair price but I did not want to confront the young technician. I called HER to discuss the issue, to see if she thought that $934.36 for 1 hour and 15 minutes labor was fair. She did! Call this company if you have money to burn but you will get your work done politely.

We had them quote adding 6 recessed lights to our living room, 2 recessed lights to the dining room, installing a recessed media box, and some other minor work on outlets. Their original quote was very reasonable, and we decided to go with them for the work. I could write a very lengthy review on the many things our tech did that went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with the work done and that we got exactly what we envisioned for our newly purchased home. He/we ran into an issue when working on the dining room lights and at first we backed off that portion of the work. After a long weekend, he came back to finish up the rest of the job, and he said "I have been thinking about this all weekend, and I have a plan on how to make these lights work". He outlined his plan and we said "sounds awesome, it also sounds like it added a lot of money". His response "Nope, I said I was going to get this done at what we quoted, and this solution will do that and give you exactly what you wanted!" I will absolutely use them again for future electrical jobs. As a cherry on top, the company sent us a really nice thank you note AND a box of cookies after the job was completed!!

I first spoke with Michael, who I believe is the manager. He listened to my concerns and had some of his own and promised to make things right. I was directed to speak with Kelly (unknown title). I believe them to be honest and sincere in their work practices.

Well, this summer as we experienced our hottest heat wave, the nearly 40 year old system finally died. Galmiche's came back out, gave us a new bid and had a new system installed within four weeks of our old system dying. Over a month later the AC wasn't working again. Galmiche's came out, found a problem and fixed it, on warranty. A couple days later the AC stopped working again. The same technician came out, did a deeper dive and determined that a part hadn't been replaced that should have been as part of the complete install. The company warrantied the repair again, accepting responsibility. All in all, I've been very pleased with Galmiche's. Their price, their courteousness, their promptness, and their integrity. I recommend them, and will definitely consider them when our second system (we have a two system house) finally kicks it.

Thomas came to our house to look at 2 air conditioning units that weren't working. He said that…read moreboth units were out of Freon. The newer unit was frozen over so he said he couldn't figure out what was wrong with it until the ice melted and the other was old and should be replaced. He became frustrated with me when I had trouble understanding what was causing the unit to freeze over if there was no Freon. He appeared arrogant and I was ready to send him home at that point, but my wife was mainly dealing with him and it was a hot day. When I complained to my wife about him she said that maybe I shouldn't have bothered him while he was working and that he was very nice to her. After examining the units he spent a while discussing our options which included a new air conditioning to replace the older one or adding 5 pounds of AR-22 freon for $1100. He wanted to charge $7,500 for the new unit which seemed reasonable, but he couldn't do it until next week and, after a quick Google search, I told him $1100 was high for adding freon. Then he once again appeared upset and asked me what I was talking about. When I explained that I quickly looked it up and knew that It usually costs maybe $500-$750 he conceded that I could find it cheaper elsewhere. Then he told us it was $125 dollars for the visit. I told him that he can't charge me for the visit because nobody notified us that there would be any charge. He said that he doesn't work for free. But I told him that without prior notification of a service charge, I didn't believe it was legal for him to charge me considering he didn't do any diagnostic testing or any repair work. He just looked around and told me something any technician could have discovered in a few minutes. He then while standing in our kitchen played the whole recording of the conversation my wife had with the dispatcher to learn that we were right and we were never notified that there would be any charge. Two days later we had Meyer Heating and Air do a same day installation for the same $7500 and they added freon to the other unit for free when the $333 leak detection didn't reveal any leaks. Plus the reps at Meyer were very pleasant to work with so I gave Meyer a 5 star review and Design a 1 star review.
