In 2020 and 2021 I had Enerco Electric do major projects in our gutted home. All of those items at…read morethis point seem to have been done correctly. However, in the fall of 2021, we purchased a generator to service our entire 10,800 sq. foot house. I was informed the generator would be shipped in December of 2021. However, delay after delay occurred, and we were finally installed in the fall of 2022. Or so we thought. Enerco insisted we were good to go. We were waiting on a final inspection Ironically, Global Tech came by for an inspection and found the following items wrong with our generator. Here's a list of items and photos for you to see the work that was incorrect. DO NOT EVER USE ENERCO for a generator. We had cardboard installed in our transfer switch! Kohler Generator: · No ground on the branch circuit GFCI · Generator is not properly grounded · No Bushings on any of the conduits or stub-ups · 3/4' PVC conduit and LB underground has no flex · 3/4" PVC conduit stub up has Liquid Tight just stuck down in it without a connection or bushing · No polymer pads under the generator for vibration · Generator door has yellow paint on it from pipe line · Natural Gas pipe line is not properly fastened, or installed properly · Generator has 1.2 hours on it, startup has not been completed, the generator should not have been run before commissioning from a licensed technician. · Feeder cable landed in mainline circuit breaker is of the largest size the breaker lugs will allow and wedged in the race area. This is applying to much pressure on the breaker. Possibly consider using copper or Parrell feeds. ASCO ATS: · The Load buss bar and lugs on line 1 and 2 have been cheaply fabricated and not safe to use. This fabricated bus bar and lugs are to close and will jump ark which could cause equipment damage, fire, personal injury and possibly death. This is a massive hazard and liability issue. The Buss/Lug fabrication between line one and two is separated with folded CARDBOARD. · No bushing on any stub ups / conduits · No Meyer hubs were used on plumbing the ATS enclosure · Service entrance cable was pulled through conduit and just ran wild to ATS, The cables were added on to with Polaris Lugs in order to reach the gear. · ATS is not fastened down correctly to concrete · ATS is not properly plumbed from the residence to the switch enclosure. Spray foam and indoor insulation was used, again, no Meyer hub was used. · Communication wire connections are not going to hold up · ATS was wired incorrectly, possibly introducing utility power to generator power. · ATS Switch is not properly grounded While Enerco did resolve these matters, our project was obviously too big for them to handle. Mark Lutman, the owner, took 6 weeks to return my calls. I found that absolutely ridiculous on a project as big and as costly as this one. I've debated about posting this for so long, but today I decided was the day to provide this information to the public and to report them.
