We had a contract for a residential solar array, batteries, and an EV car charger with a company which used Brda Electric as a sub contractor. The company we contracted with? I have some colorful words for them. The people at Brda Solar who actually did the work? I could write a book about how pleased we are with their work, their professionalism, their abilities to take a poor situation and make it work, their dedication to getting the job done and done right. I only wish we would have known about them and contracted directly with them. From Lauren in the office to Joe, Francisco, Jeremiah, and a couple of other guys who (I am sorry that names escape me) who were all a part of this project at our home, we thank you so much for not only doing the work, but passively calming me down when I would see your truck pull up in our driveway. Joe and Francisco especially went above and beyond with amazingly great attitudes on Christmas Eve. That they even had to work that day pissed me off, but they and their people in the office were dedicated to get this project in service before the end of the year. I would never have expected anyone to work on Christmas Eve. I am grateful that they did. I have already told many people about our unacceptable experience with our contractor, and have dropped the BRDA name more as the people to take care of their solar projects as well as any other electrical needs they may have. This company has a very friendly customer support staff and they answer their phones very quickly. However, I was disappointed in the timeliness of their service. I had a survey appointment scheduled for 8am or some time after with intent to install eight light fixtures with alumni-con connectors. Their technician arrived exactly at 10am, 2 hours after my expectation, and something most people would agree was already late. While I was advised in advance that the technician may not be there right at 8am, and their office did call me to say Shane their tech was running late, consider how precious time is to a customer, and especially for a customer who has to take a day off from work for the scheduled inspection and potential iob. I am a retired service member who spent 22 years showing up to work daily on time. Timeliness is the hallmark of an effective organization and is what traditionally has made this country great. It is a major turnoff for me to be 2 hours late. I was also expecting the job to be fulfilled same day as I reasonably believe most proficient electricians could get my job of 8 fixtures done in a day if they showed up early. I even offered to help take down the light fixtures if that would make the job go by faster. I was told by Shane, their technician, BRDA would most likely have to come back another day to complete the job. In addition, they wanted over $3,000 to change 8 light fixtures, which did include relocating two bathroom fixtures by about two feet, which i consider high. I was previously quoted $940 for the same job by another certified electrician m. The cost for the Brda survey was $99 which is reasonable, but the guy spent no more than 40 mins at my place and didn't do anything except take a few pics and make what I feel is an overpriced survey. The previous $940 quote I received from another company was given for free. This aside, Shane was professional and friendly and so was Jason and Erica. Be on time, I cannot stress how much people value this. Based on the late arrival and their high price, I declined their services and admit my experience may be a one off given all the other great reviews . However, a customer does have to wonder how one licensed company can quote $940 and another licensed company quotes the same work for over $3k, a 2k difference! I did my own math on this. A $3,000 quote breaks down to approximately $350 in parts and $2,650 in labor, implying an effective rate of $220-$330 per hour. Ridiculous pricing! read more

TLDR; It's been three months since I've paid Brda Nearly $8000 and the work they did is still not completely up to code. After approving An estimate and paying half the same day I was scheduled for a two day job on October 15. I get an automated text October 15 that someone will be at my house at 8 AM, an apprentice showed up around 9 AM and an electrician was even later. They left at 2:30 the first day, but on the second day told me they would have to come back for a third day. The electrician did offer a couple of small pieces of work for free as an apology for having to come back the third day. At the end of the third day, Not all of the work was done, so I was told they would have to reschedule to come back again. The next day, I discovered issues with their work and a new problem in my kitchen, So I called and was told the issue in the kitchen was not an emergency and they would call me back to reschedule taking a look at that and completing the original work. No one called me for 12 days, so I called them back and they put me on the schedule for three weeks later. The day of that appointment finally arrives and an apprentice shows up first (over an hour late), And starts looking at the problem in previous work. He then tells me that the electrician is sick, no one else is available, and he can't do the work himself. He takes pictures and makes notes, then calls his boss who reschedules for another two weeks out. On the day of the final appointment an electrician I hadn't had before shows up a has not been given any information about what needed to be done. He also discovered that no covers were put on the junction boxes installed in my attic during the original work and that someone smaller will have to come back to install those. He did some work and another electrician came out the same day to finish everything up. I was also told this day that the apprentice who did most of the work during the The first appointment was fired because he Wasn't doing a good job. The same day I discovered two outlets upstairs were not working. They did come back the next day and get those fixed. It's now been over a month since they have been here (and three months since the first appoint), I have paid them nearly $8000, and the work they did is still not finished per their agreement or up to code as they haven't covered the junction boxes. Everyone I've spoken to has been kind and courteous, but the experience I've had with Brda has been nothing shorter ridiculous. read more

Brda installed 4 CAT 5e ethernet drops on 3 levels of my house and an additional circuit. They worked very hard to see how to install the drops with no exterior wires and only had to put one hole in our walls, which fortunately was in the garage. Most of their behind the wall fishing they were able to accomplish by removing and then replacing electrical sockets already in the house. They were also able to schedule me quickly and arrived on time and really took the time to make sure the job was completed as best as they possibly could. Brda was contracted to install new lighting, fans and run a number of electrical drops at the warehouse facility I work at in Marylands Heights, MO. Mike H. was great to have in our facility as both he and my crew worked around each other. He was always courteous and patient when we had to move things so that he could pull wire or move a lift down the aisles. When other things were brought up that needed to be addressed, Mike was more than happy to add those things to his list (and it seemed to keep growing). And whenever he finished a particular project he always made a point to call me over and show me how the new setup was going to work (they installed a contact point for all the lights to be on one switch in a 15,000 square foot facility and four fans for circulation). We had a sudden outage of electricity in two rooms of our house, not the entire room - but outlets in both, as well as a light and vent fan that just suddenly stopped working. Although my husband is somewhat handy, he could not find the problem. After calling 4 companies in the STL region BRDA Electric was the first to say they would try to come same day! 1.5 hours later they called to say an electrician was on his way! He not only found the problem and fixed it in a short period of time, but he was also friendly, professional, wore his mask the whole time (so did we!) and the cost for this SAME DAY service and fix was shockingly reasonable! I had a decent feeling about the company after reading numerous reviews, I had requested electric service for an installation of an exhaust fan and the repair of two outlets that had went dead. As the electrician began tracing the service he examined every outlet and switch close to the problem outlets, he only did a cursory examination of the exhaust fan portion of the job. The electrician was thorough, gaining access to the crawl space in the roof, tracking electrical lines all over the house until we ended up at the main panel box. Once there, he claimed there were numerous unsafe conditions within the electrical panel. I asked him NOT to begin any work until there was a full estimate for repairs. The electrician picked up all his tools and submitted a verbal bill for over $400. The exhaust fan is not installed and neither outlet was repaired. This entire experience seems like a scam, he kept moving further and further away from the problem areas for which he was called and finally tried to get me to agree to what would amount to be an up-charge for re-wiring services I did not want addressed. The next time you want a technician to walk around your house for four hours and NOT fix anything and then pay him $400 for the privilege, call Brad Electric, they're your company. read more
