She insisted the plates weren't meant for sharing, which turned out not to be true. The wine itself was excellent, and the snacks were good -- but the overall service from Noemi felt unfriendly and not very customer-oriented. Their house wine is phenomenal and they take great pride in finding the grapes/different varietals to make it come to life. They have a both a red and a white house wine option. The second time we went - and yes, we went more than once in the four days we were there - we enjoyed one of the sandwiches and it was absolutely amazing. The bread, I can't even explain, the bread it's so flavorful and so good and so light. That paired with the delicious meats and cheeses were 100% worth it. The contrast was insulting. I was dressed in an upscale outfit appropriate for a refined dinner, yet I was treated as though I didn't belong. It felt discriminatory and dismissive. My wife and I walked in on a whim for a glass of wine in the afternoon, and we ended up staying until 9pm because of the hospitality. We had several glasses of wine and sampled some of the local breads and meats, all of which are sourced from Francesco's home town in Chianti (he commutes into Florence every day to run this place). In particular, his hometown salami with fennel seeds is incredible. We were the only people in the place for most of the time because we went in the afternoon on a week day. Francesco spent a lot of time with us and gave us several recommendations for how to explore Florence and Chianti like a local rather than a tourist. Very much appreciated. Francesco also makes sandwiches, and this comprises a large part of his business (he does a lot of take-away business for locals at lunch time). We were in between meals so we did not indulge, but we will definitely go back for lunch before we leave Florence.

Since we didn't have a reservation at Bianco restaurant the staff guided us thru to Pavone restaurant to a cozy spot at the bar counter. That was incredibly kind and accommodating. I guess they both belonged to the same owner as we were given menus from both the restaurants to order food. Both the restaurants had beautiful decor. One carried a traditional charm & the other a modern tone. We kicked off our meal with complimentary bread & olive oil. We ordered a refreshing Aperol Spritz and a glass of Chianti Classico. For starters, we dove into a creamy burrata topped with freshly shaved truffles and olive oil an intriguing combination of grilled crostini with toasted bread, anchovies, and a flavorful green paste & a sprinkle of olive oil. It was a unique and delicious combo to start with! For our main courses, we enjoyed a show-stopping dish, Chicken breast with pecorino and truffle & this dish was, without a doubt, the best and one of the highlight of our entire trip, & wife ordered wild boar ragu was equally satisfying.
