Today wasn't hot like last year's picnic, but the humidity certainly matched the heat of last year. More people came to this picnic, but this time, people did not seem to place golf until this year's raffles were over and done with. Cash prizes and gift cards of $25 dollars were given out to those who came to the party. Today my name was drawn for 3rd time. I got a chance to aquire a Starbucks card. It will come in handy for when I want something to eat or drink during work. Everyone wanted the top prize of 50,000.00 dollars, but sadly, THERE CAN BE ONLY ONE winner. My wife got the top prize and I am happy. If you think it was fifty thousand dallors, then I would have to say that is wishful thinking. No, my wife won $100.00 and that is something. Seeing her number was 9947 and mine was 9946. Not a bad days work. We did not play miniature golf today. It was just to damn hot. Still, we both had fun and this is what the Reston Limousine party is all about. I will say, my ass does hurt from sitting n the hard benches. They have 8 indoor courts with reflective LED lighting which works great. You do not get any of the blindspots you normally get from standard direct lighting systems. These courts have a viewing seating area located on the second level with extra comfortable leather couches. In addition to the indoor courts, there are also several outdoor clay courts, in excellent shape. The club house looks like the lobby of a 5-star hotel, with super comfortable locker rooms and showers. And there is also a bar and cafeteria located on the second floor of the club house. After some research, I thought @GolfHouse would be a great first experience for him since they offer junior coaching and it's similar to a video game. When I emailed them with questions, they were the most quick and complete in response than any of the other Ashburn area courses. At this point we're 3 sessions in. Coach Ju Hee is very professional and confident, but has just the right style to keep my 10 year old engaged. In each session she has walked the line effectively between correcting swing issues and helping him understand how the game works, while also keeping it fun and engaging for him, which is probably the most important part at this point. The sessions involved 30 minutes of instruction and 30 minutes of free time in the bay which I'll sometimes use to take a few swings with my son. So far, this seems to be the right mix. Coach also shared the before/after swing photo I posted from session 2. While I'm not sure if other local coaches have this type of tech, I think this is a significant advantage because of the real-time feedback and insight it gives her into exactly what is happening. It's also great for us to see the progress he's making. Overall, I definitely would recommend @GolfHouse and Coach Ju Hee for lessons. At some point I'll probably book a bay with some of my friends who are more serious golfers during a lesson and see what they think about it.

They were hosting a junior championship and did not do a very good job of marshaling the pace and should have never offered play to normal customers on such a horrifically busy day for the course. We got through 18 holes in about 6.5 hours with most people along the way just giving up on the wait... To be fair when we arrived they noted a slight delay in play time due to the junior tourney but not a staggering halt...They were kind enough to give us a free ticket to come back without us even saying anything, but honestly, they should never have sold t-times knowing how bad it could be.

This was not the case since the foursome in front of us had at least 3 open holes in front of them and would not let the faster players (a twosome) to play through. My sister-in-law planned a gathering here for a college send-off, and it turned out to be the perfect setting for our group of about 8-10 people. Everything about the experience was great. The food was delicious, the drinks were amazing, and the service was truly top-tier. The staff made it easy for our group to relax, have fun, eat, drink, and enjoy celebrating such a special occasion together. We even had an opportunity to speak with the manager during our visit, and he was incredibly friendly and welcoming. He personally invited us to come back, which was such a nice touch and really added to the overall experience. Topgolf was such a fun choice because there was something for everyone--even if you're not a serious golfer! Between the games, food, drinks, and atmosphere, we had an amazing time together. The difference between how the course looked previously and how it looks now is very noticeable. It is clear that a great deal of pride and effort is being put into maintaining the greens.
