Yes, it is a small store, but it has been constantly improving since these reviews. The art…read more department especially has been expanded. The crew has more knowledge and is much better at the till then in the past. So much of art and crafts is needing to be "Hands on" to see the product or the possibilities. This store is a needed resource in our community. I would rate the department for children's crafts as five stars. Great place for their gifts. Please visit and see for yourselves.

This is a very small Michaels compared to others. They had places for things that I was looking…read morefor, but a lot of stuff was empty, so it wasn't very well stocked. The isles are very tight. When it came to checking out, the were VERY slow, if someone has 5 of the same thing, why can't you scan one, and then hit times 5, but no, this place will individually scan every single item, even when you have duplicates of everything. I ended up having to return something, and even though they were nice about it, again they were SO SLOW, (FYI, DEFINITELY LOOK JUST A FEW DOORS DOWN AT THE DOLLAR STORE BEFORE BUYING CANDY ITEMS, THE DOLLAR STORE HAD SOME OF THE SAME CANDY, LARGER PORTIONS FOR 2-3 TIMES LESS WHAT THIS PLACE CHARGED, I COULDN'T BELIEVE WHAT THEY WERE CHARGING FOR CANDY HERE). It wasn't the end of the world for them to be so slow, because they made mistakes, and by going slow, they caught those mistakes, but man, it wouldn't hurt to speed it up just a little bit either.

Lexar Homes of Centralia

Lexar Homes of Centralia

Lexar's owners will tell you they are a custom/semi-custom builder, but they miss the mark…read more Overall our home seems to be well built, but we had many problems along the way and are still having them as no one from Lexar is responding, even after our 'one year walk-thru. In our initial meetings with Brian (a co-owner) and Lynette, we specified several things we wanted in our home. We got about half of them. I had said I wanted shower valves which had separate flow and temperature controls, but while the plumber was installing them, I asked if they were the type I had asked for and was told no. I checked with Lexar and was told that those would cost me more than $200. more. I let it go. I had told them that I wanted two electrical circuits to each room so that if we had a switch, outlet or breaker go bad, the room wouldn't be totally without power requiring an extension cord until the problem was fixed. The house is wired so that when one breaker is tripped, nearly half of the house is black, no ceiling fan/ light or outlets operating in nearly half of the house. Trip another breaker and nearly half of the rest of the house is powerless. On rainy days when the wind blows from the North or the West, I get puddles of water from underneath the roll up garage door. The caulking job on our siding could have been done better by children with about an hour of instruction. Instead of taking the 4 to 6 months for the build as we had been told, it was a week short of taking 10 months. This was partly because there were two two-week periods in the summer when there wasn't one subcontractor on the premises. Their concrete contractor was totally in the dark about codes in Cowlitz County as the steps from the garage 'man door' failed to pass inspection twice. Being under the gun to get into the house, I poured a final step which was holding up the approval. Their framing crew supervisor got dinged for not having a double-stud in a bathroom wall, per the blueprints. Trying to skate on this, he slid a stud down behind the tub surround to make it look like it was double studded, but the inspector found it and ultimately, they had to remove the exterior sheathing from the house where the stud was located in order to install it per the plans. When the wall texture was about to be applied, I asked the owner of the company which has subcontracted the job how much more it would cost me for a 'knock down texture' and was told that he only did light and medium orange peel. At one point, his employees used a brand new shop vacuum (I had borrowed from a neighbir since my tools were still in CA) to suck up wet wall texture and left it to dry inside for me to clean up (took over 2 hours). So much for 'semi-custom'. My wife & I come from an area where houses are built on on-grade slab foundations and we made this clear from the get go. The other co-owner, Dave, had initially visited our property and, after shooting it with a transit, left me with a change order for over $20,000 for excavation and a stem wall due to the slope of the land. I got it done by another contractor for a lot less and that wasn't even the lowest bid I got. It wasn't until the walls were up and the roof on that we were informed that we would either have to build a deck on the back of the house or would have to literally board up our living room 8' slider and our bedroom 6' slider. Money being short by now, we had to quickly enlist the help of several friends to get the deck done in time so as not to delay the final inspection approval. At the time of this review, Dave and Brian have made the one-year walk through and been shown the less than desirable results, including the garage door leak and have done nothing. Since then, we have made friends with a couple who also had a Lexar home built about a year earlier than ours and had some problems which have NOT been addressed.
