I asked livie if she wanted me to call the cops and she said not to worry that she had already called security. Please dont let that 1 interaction discourage you from shopping here. Non have been able to provide any services, it's always some reason I don't qualify. What has the world come to where you need so much more than being homeless to qualify for services. I have exhausted so much money paying for hotels. The last hotel my family and I resided in the staff put us in a hotel room with a broken window because of their negligence my autistic son fell 4 story's and because so we are now fighting a CFS case for the past few months. My husband and I came to this organization looking to be able to save up for just a month while I continue school. Their reasoning for not helping us was because I had no connection with surrounding areas hello I'm homeless I have no connection with any area ‍ weird. They also said I couldn't go to school I have to be working which is also weird considering my husband already works, by going to school I'm working towards something more permanent for my family. Neither one of us does any type of drugs or drink, we are just a family who have been experiencing hard times that won't give up. We only needed 30 days to save up some money before our court date, finding a house is the last thing we need to complete before we can get the kids back and we were hoping to stay here for a month so we can save enough to cover move in cost when we find our next home.

Our neighbor told us about this government program that helped repair her Mobil home. This grant is worth $1,500 to helps home owners remodel or repair their Mobil homes. We called NPHS and talked to Cecilia Gonzales who is the redevelopment project coordinator. We talked to her and she mailed an application to apply. The application will have a list of requirements like copies of home title, ID, pay stubs, income tax, ect. I filled it out for my mom and returned it in person. Days later Cecelia gave us a call to let us know we were approved and that she was going to come over to check out what we needed to repair. Later, we let William the contractor know what bathroom vanity and tile floors we wanted within the $1,500 budget. That week he sent his construction worker to pick up the stuff and start the project. Our total went a little over the grant limit, so we just paid the difference. They are very professional people and the remodeled bathroom was well done. We are very satisfied with their service. Idk if the offer this program to single family homes, but it's perfect for Mobil/manufactured homes. They also offer other services. We highly recommend it because there aren't programs like this out there to repair your home for free.

The same cashier was checking out my sister and me, and I'm not sure if the way we were treated had anything to do with us being two younger brown adults, but the interaction was incredibly uncomfortable and humiliating. My sister tried to explain the price of the hangers she was purchasing. Rather than simply listening to her, the cashier questioned her and refused to believe what she was saying, even after my sister showed her a physical picture she had taken showing the price. To be clear, this review is not about the price. We completely understand that employees need to verify prices. What was upsetting was the unnecessary attitude and the way my sister was made to feel as though she was being dishonest. Then, completely unnecessarily, the cashier commented that the hangers were too "small" for our clothes. What exactly was she implying by that? Was she making a comment about our bodies or our size? Regardless of what she meant, it was an extremely inappropriate thing to say to a customer. My sister politely explained that she was purchasing the hangers to hang her pants. Instead of simply moving on, the cashier responded with "ew, that's disgusting." Who says something like that to a customer? There was absolutely no reason for that comment. It was rude, disrespectful, embarrassing, and completely inappropriate. A customer should never have to stand at a register and be spoken to in a way that makes them feel humiliated for something as simple as purchasing clothing hangers. What makes this even more upsetting is that I had been excited to support this organization because I respect what thrift stores and volunteer-based organizations represent. Unfortunately, one employee's behavior completely ruined that experience for me. I left feeling angry, disappointed, and, most importantly, humiliated on behalf of my sister. Watching someone speak to her that way while she remained polite was incredibly upsetting. I genuinely wish I had recorded the interaction because it was one of those situations where you leave thinking, Did that really just happen? I will never be returning to this location. I hope management takes complaints like this seriously and understands that volunteering or working for an organization does not give anyone the right to belittle, embarrass, or disrespect customers. He guided us through the pressure test and then showed us mattresses not only based on those results, but also tailored to our specific goals: we wanted something that stayed cool, had strong edge support, was great for side sleeping, reduced motion transfer so I wouldn't feel my husband moving around, and would work with our current adjustable frame. We thought the process would take 2-3 hours, but thanks to John's knowledge and attentiveness, we found the perfect mattress in under an hour! The bed is being delivered the very next day, which was such a bonus. What really stood out was that John never once tried to upsell us on things we didn't need he was thorough, detailed, kind, and knowledgeable every step of the way. My experience at sit n sleep Ontario was akin to a never ending nightmare. I would not advise…read morebuying any mattress here, but if you do - Compare the Law/Legal tag on the mattress you try, and the mattress you receive. If you decide not to read, let your eyes tell the tale via the attached photos. To keep it relatively short, there is data on the law tags that tells you specifics of the mattress. One is "Net weight of internal filling material". This is essentially your wools, latex,polyfoam, fibers, feathers, ie the expensive stuff for the Comfort Layer. We tried a mattress in the storeroom that was a medium firm, very comfortable - we bought it. Received a mattress, Hard as a rock, mind you we gave it over two months to 'wear in'. After comparing both LAW tags. Our mattress had 55 pounds of internal filling material, store room had ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY POUNDS. Yes, 130% MORE pounds of comfort material. Can you imagine HOW MUCH MATERIAL that 130 pounds IS? No wonder our bed was rock hard. The salesman and customer service will claim to have no idea what it means (despite their combined 50 years of experience) laughable. Yet these industry professionals have no idea what information a basic mattress law /Legal tag is providing. Intentionally dishonest. We opened an investigation with them so they asked to give another chance and send a replacement. Their delivery truck arrived and we rejected a worse mattress with even less filling material. We verified our information with other stores/professionals to validate. We were knowingly deceived. At every step of this nightmare, the personnel became more unbearable. The customer service was incredibly rude, inappropriate, and hung up on us multiple times. Its all clouds and rainbows until their warranty or money is in jeopardy. Their customer service even tried to tell me lies about me confusing the law tag with the store price tag. Intentional dishonesty. We finally had enough and requested a refund, they couldnt promise a full refund they stated. The 3rd time we were hung up by customer service on was due to our unavailability to a same day pick up of the return. Once their team arrived to pick up the mattress, they grabbed the pillow cases, adjustable base, protective sheet, extra hardware - and said the mattress was not on the refund sheet, REFUSED to take it, LEAVING the mattress. To be fair this was likely the company that botched this, willingly or not. After going somewhere else i realized how low quality the adjustable base even was. Please think twice about going to Scam n' Sleep. Deceptive, Fraudulent, Dismissive, Inappropriate, Dishonest. I have never had this experience with this size of a legitimate company before Id wish it on nobody else. Go elsewhere. If nothing else - see with your own eyes with the attached mattress tag photos.

Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. Both myself and my daughter…read morecalled, (the "are too busy to care for kitties AND answer the phone, so please send a text"), so we texted, created an account online (because they want to know you're "actually serious" about adopting before you can even MEET the cat you're considering adopting.) (I do understand and respect prioritizing the mental health of the cats, but I'm sure the cats, especially the adults, would prefer a compromise, like being required to fill out a one page form on the spot before meeting). Every serious adopter that goes into a pet store and sees one of this organization's animals that they are interested in adopting and is told they have to go through this and this and this step before they can even interact with the cat and know if the personality is a fit. Everyone loses out. In my experience, even if you do go through all the steps, they won't call you back, and a cat that could have had a home I know had that opportunity taken from them because of the seemingly righteous or superior attitude of the rescue people. They surely know how many people go in and out of those cat and kitten rooms at the Animal Friends of the Valley shelter. Having a few people go in one at a time to meet one particular cat, I don't feel, is any more dangerous or unhealthy for the cat than them losing the opportunity to be adopted and eventually being put down. I just don't understand rescues like this. If you're too small to actually help, then let somebody else do it.

After explaining how the section was organized, when the newest ones came in, etc., he took information on the book I was searching for and promised to hold it for me if it came in. After several return visits later, he advised me that it hadn't shown up yet. A few weeks later I found it at home and let them know. I was very appreciative that Frank had been kind enough to keep an eye out for me.
