I stopped by the Salvation Army Family Thrift Store hoping to find a worn-out dress I could…read morerepurpose into a pashmina or head scarf. I specifically was looking for something old and falling apart--not boutique pricing. While browsing, I noticed several dresses labeled "donated brand new" priced between $12.99-$17.99, which already felt a little steep for a thrift store. But okay, I kept looking. Eventually, I found exactly what I needed--a gold sequined knit dress... except it was VERY worn, stretched out, and very visibly used. I found the dress with no tag-- No tag. No brand. Perfect for my project! I brought it to the register and explained the situation. The cashier (who seemed to be in a supervisory role) barely looked at it and immediately said, "$12.99." I politely asked how pricing works, especially since their brand new items were priced in the same range. She responded (with a bit of attitude, honestly) that pricing is determined by the warehouse based on brand. So I clarified: this item was clearly not a big name brand, it was very Walmart/target-coded, if you know what I mean-- but USED and heavily worn -could it be priced accordingly? Her response? No. It's $12.99. It was basically Take it or leave it... At that point, I was on a time crunch and needed the material for an event the next day, so I paid the $12.99... but I left genuinely baffled. Paying near-retail thrift prices for something that's visibly USED and worn just doesn't sit right--especially when I could walk into Ross Stores and buy something brand new for the same price. I wanted to give this place a chance, but between the inconsistent pricing and the dismissive customer service, I'll probably stick with Goodwill moving forward--at least they tend to price items based on actual condition and treat customers with a bit more understanding.

Our neighbor told us about this government program that helped repair her Mobil home. This grant is worth $1,500 to helps home owners remodel or repair their Mobil homes. We called NPHS and talked to Cecilia Gonzales who is the redevelopment project coordinator. We talked to her and she mailed an application to apply. The application will have a list of requirements like copies of home title, ID, pay stubs, income tax, ect. I filled it out for my mom and returned it in person. Days later Cecelia gave us a call to let us know we were approved and that she was going to come over to check out what we needed to repair. Later, we let William the contractor know what bathroom vanity and tile floors we wanted within the $1,500 budget. That week he sent his construction worker to pick up the stuff and start the project. Our total went a little over the grant limit, so we just paid the difference. They are very professional people and the remodeled bathroom was well done. We are very satisfied with their service. Idk if the offer this program to single family homes, but it's perfect for Mobil/manufactured homes. They also offer other services. We highly recommend it because there aren't programs like this out there to repair your home for free.

From the moment we walked in, we were warmly greeted by John Ruiz. I had already done some research…read morebeforehand and had an idea of what I wanted, and John truly listened. He guided us through the pressure test and then showed us mattresses not only based on those results, but also tailored to our specific goals: we wanted something that stayed cool, had strong edge support, was great for side sleeping, reduced motion transfer so I wouldn't feel my husband moving around, and would work with our current adjustable frame. We thought the process would take 2-3 hours, but thanks to John's knowledge and attentiveness, we found the perfect mattress in under an hour! The bed is being delivered the very next day, which was such a bonus. What really stood out was that John never once tried to upsell us on things we didn't need he was thorough, detailed, kind, and knowledgeable every step of the way. Thank you, John, for making the experience easy and enjoyable. I would recommend you a hundred times over!

My experience at sit n sleep Ontario was akin to a never ending nightmare. I would not advise…read morebuying any mattress here, but if you do - Compare the Law/Legal tag on the mattress you try, and the mattress you receive. If you decide not to read, let your eyes tell the tale via the attached photos. To keep it relatively short, there is data on the law tags that tells you specifics of the mattress. One is "Net weight of internal filling material". This is essentially your wools, latex, polyfoam, fibers, feathers, ie the expensive stuff for the Comfort Layer. We tried a mattress in the storeroom that was a medium firm, very comfortable - we bought it. Received a mattress, Hard as a rock, mind you we gave it over two months to 'wear in'. After comparing both LAW tags. Our mattress had 55 pounds of internal filling material, store room had ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY POUNDS. Yes, 130% MORE pounds of comfort material. Can you imagine HOW MUCH MATERIAL that 130 pounds IS? No wonder our bed was rock hard. The salesman and customer service will claim to have no idea what it means (despite their combined 50 years of experience) laughable. Yet these industry professionals have no idea what information a basic mattress law /Legal tag is providing. Intentionally dishonest. We opened an investigation with them so they asked to give another chance and send a replacement. Their delivery truck arrived and we rejected a worse mattress with even less filling material. We verified our information with other stores/professionals to validate. We were knowingly deceived. At every step of this nightmare, the personnel became more unbearable. The customer service was incredibly rude, inappropriate, and hung up on us multiple times. Its all clouds and rainbows until their warranty or money is in jeopardy. Their customer service even tried to tell me lies about me confusing the law tag with the store price tag. Intentional dishonesty. We finally had enough and requested a refund, they couldnt promise a full refund they stated. The 3rd time we were hung up by customer service on was due to our unavailability to a same day pick up of the return. Once their team arrived to pick up the mattress, they grabbed the pillow cases, adjustable base, protective sheet, extra hardware - and said the mattress was not on the refund sheet, REFUSED to take it, LEAVING the mattress. To be fair this was likely the company that botched this, willingly or not. After going somewhere else i realized how low quality the adjustable base even was. Please think twice about going to Scam n' Sleep. Deceptive, Fraudulent, Dismissive, Inappropriate, Dishonest. I have never had this experience with this size of a legitimate company before Id wish it on nobody else. Go elsewhere. If nothing else - see with your own eyes with the attached mattress tag photos.

Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. If you are also searching for your feline soulmate, please look no further!!

I was even more upset when I get the notification via text message, that they would not allow me to adopt Cookies because I said we would "Declaw" if he started scratching or getting aggressive....I didn't even know what that meant...Again, I was pissed... We were messaging back and forth for well over 30 minutes and they explained to me what declawing was, and why it was bad for cats.
