There's a set of steps with pillows on each step with a block of about six outlets beside them, and a really comfy, sinky couch (plus an ottoman and two comfy looking armchairs and a big table in the middle) with a set of two outlets on the wall and a star shaped power strip sticking out of the ground with six outlets coming out of it. There are also regular tables and it seems like there are outlets beside them as well. WIFI: The wifi is open (no password necessary), even though they have a password listed where you pick up your food (it's just Sanctuary Coffee). I tried to use one of the locked ones (the only one that made sense), but the wifi password didn't work, so I'm not sure why they have one listed. Regardless, albeit not the fastest wifi I've ever used, it's incredibly doable. I have been working remote here for 1.5 hrs and had almost no issues. MENU: For LA, relatively cheap. I am not a coffee or tea drinker, so I got the peach Italian soda, which was yummy. I believe it was about $4.89, which is not bad at all. I went to And Destroy in the Highland Park-ish area, and I believe an Italian soda with cream (cream is free here) was maybe $7-8. I'm used to paying more for drinks because the specialty (non coffee and tea) drinks are usually pricey, but this was one of the cheapest things on the menu. Also, you can claim a free pastry with your email and first name on their website (it sends you a voucher, just show the email). I got the banana bread, which was fine. I would've gotten zucchini, but it wasn't chocolate chip zucchini. ATMOSPHERE: Not too loud, the music is nice and chill and not very loud. There's cute art on the walls and homey looking lamps. It's the quintessential living room coffee shop, perhaps even rivaling Republik Coffee in Burbank in comfiness, noise level, aesthetic, and price (which is a bummer, because I likely will never be back - we just happened to be in North Pomona today, and I have no idea when we'd ever elect to drive this far again LOL). PARKING: It's in a little strip mall, so there's an actual aboveground lot with plenty of free parking (at least I think it's free, I got dropped off so I didn't pay much attention). Overall, I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone looking to cowork in a cozy atmosphere for relatively cheap in the North Pomona area. It checks all of my boxes except distance from home. I hope this review helps someone, because I always try to find this information on Yelp about new places to visit and it can be very difficult to find! BATHROOM: I believe there are two single person bathrooms like not stalls just one bathroom. Cute art and aesthetic inside, there are hooks on the walls for your stuff. Mindy provided a very personable, warm and extremely responsive service, made every effort to respond to my inquiry on Adopt-A-Pet and approving my application as well as just answering my questions and chatting with me about my potential cat baby's personality traits and his background story. She responded to emails as late as 11PM on a weekend and her demeanor was always welcoming and reassuring, like an old, caring friend. Mindy's words and actions convey that she truly truly love all of her rescued cat babies and she only wants what's best for them and she works extremely hard to find them good homes. I was very sad that neither cat babies from her rescue matched the particular personality I was looking for (I was trying to fill this big hole in my heart with the tragic loss of a stray cat named Cookie I cared for) and I really wished that given all the hard work she and her daughter put into, I'd adopt either Teddy or Khabib. Despite these big, affectionate sweet boys were not the best match I was searching for, I don't think any less of them, I sincerely hope they will find their forever home they deserve and I cannot be more grateful for Mindy's time, patience and understanding she's extended me and my family. If I had more capacity for an additional cat baby in the future after finding THE ONE, Mindy and her rescue is the first place I'd check out. Both myself and my daughter…read morecalled, (the "are too busy to care for kitties AND answer the phone, so please send a text"), so we texted, created an account online (because they want to know you're "actually serious" about adopting before you can even MEET the cat you're considering adopting.) (I do understand and respect prioritizing the mental health of the cats, but I'm sure the cats, especially the adults, would prefer a compromise, like being required to fill out a one page form on the spot before meeting). Every serious adopter that goes into a pet store and sees one of this organization's animals that they are interested in adopting and is told they have to go through this and this and this step before they can even interact with the cat and know if the personality is a fit. Everyone loses out. In my experience, even if you do go through all the steps, they won't call you back, and a cat that could have had a home I know had that opportunity taken from them because of the seemingly righteous or superior attitude of the rescue people. They surely know how many people go in and out of those cat and kitten rooms at the Animal Friends of the Valley shelter. Having a few people go in one at a time to meet one particular cat, I don't feel, is any more dangerous or unhealthy for the cat than them losing the opportunity to be adopted and eventually being put down. I just don't understand rescues like this. If you're too small to actually help, then let somebody else do it.

As I mentioned, she was given ONE round of dewormer on the day she was taken in (5/09) and I adopted her 3 WEEKS later (5/31). She was not given any more than that single round. That is not "routine deworming treatment" like you say you provide. It does not take 3 weeks to treat a simple tapeworm infection. Oh but "no protocol is effective against every parasite or life stage"? According to the vet I had to take her to, all it would have taken is a follow-up dose about 2 weeks later, which you had the time to do with my cat while she was in your care but failed to do for her. Making excuses and being fake nice doesn't make you look any better. It shows this place's complete lack of integrity and inability to take responsibility. I've never been a Karen but this shelter is actively neglecting the health and wellbeing of these animals that are helpless in their care and that is unacceptable. Do better.

During my senior year of high school I was the president of Upland High School's Key Club and I was…read morehonored to join in on some of the Upland Foothill Kiwanis Meetings. Amongst the many breakfasts I intruded on, this special breakfast meeting at OPARC really opened my eyes about the world around us. OPARC (Ontario Pomona Association for Retarded Citizens) is a nonprofit organization centralized in the IE (Inland Empire) created to help those with disabilities and their families. We were given a tour of the facilities and we were able to see how OPARC was able to put these people into different programs (depending on their situation). They have a "variety of programs for people with Down Syndrome, epilepsy, autism, cerebral palsy, and mental retardation" (oparc.org). One thing that I still remember to this day is when we entered a room where all they did was putting an item into the plastic packaging and sealing it up. The faculty member at OPARC explained that these simple activities are so simple and easy that an average person would probably be unwilling to do it, especially for less than minimum wage. OPARC takes those simple tasks and with government aid, they are able to pay these disabled workers a lesser pay doing these simply BUT USEFUL and necessary work to contribute to society and to give these people meaning to their lives. That is just one of many examples of the things that OPARC does to help those with disabilities. Their mission statement is: "Enabling People with Disabilities to Achieve Their Full Potential" and this is such a valiant cause!! People with disabilities deserve every right to be emotionally fulfilled with their lives and OPARC is doing a wonderful job helping them with that despite the setbacks they are forced to face. If you're ever looking for somewhere to donate to, this is a great cause! Or maybe just do some research about it and be less ignorant about the world around us :)
