I went in as a walk-in to see if I could get acrylic fills. I honestly did not expect to be able to get in. There were three customers and three techs. They did take me in and the ladies were all very nice. The tech who did my fills did a good job. The reason for my 2-stars is the price. I should have been charged $25, per their posted price list, but I was charged $40 for acrylic fills. This does not include the 20% tip. Will this be my regular nail salon? No. Would I use them again? Only if I was desperate and they were able to take me immediately. read more

Wasn't bad but wasn't great. Not very fancy or anything just a quick place to get nails done. They didn't have TVs or music it was very quiet and not the relaxing quiet just awkwardly quiet. There's like one art piece on the wall. Overall atmosphere is lacking. You really don't want to come back but the ladies are nice and do an ok job. A group came in during my gel manicure and I noticed she started rushing my manicure which resulted in a few hiccups but I didn't have the time to ask for her to redo them. So I'm really not suggesting this place. Also they are more pricey because of the location. read more

The lady I had was very hard to understand and I was very excited. They charged me $60 for a full set and gel, however I didn't ask for gel, and they also didn't care for exactly what i wanted. I've been getting my nails done for years and have never had this bad of an experience. I asked for french tip with cow spots and there was no french tip and they look like art swatches. So, I live in Phoenix and I have been using the same manicurist for years because her work is amazing. I was in town and I ended up chipping a few nails and while I was here I figured I'd find a salon to repair it. A friend recommended this place and it's close to where I'm staying, so I figured I'd check it out. I ended up having Mei do my nails. She was a very sweet lady, but I can say I'm worse for wear now. I had gel on, so she had to dremmel off the polish before she could see what she was working with. When we started, we weren't sure if the nail would be salvageable (using a form to rebuild the nail) or if it would have to be replaced (soaking off the old acrylic and starting over). She ended up doing a full set- which whatever- it's been a few months since I've had a fresh set, so I was overdue. Instead of soaking off the old acrylic in acetone and buffing with a file, she used a new nail tip and pried the acrylic nail away from my natural nail. I have never seen this method before and it definitely hurts more than just soaking. I also had gems on my nails and instead of dremmeling those off she used a clipper to pry those off. After my old polish was off, it was the usual applying acrylic powder, set, file, gel polish, final polish. At first I was pleased with the end result, but looking at my nails now I'm not too crazy about the end result. Like I said, I've been going to the same manicurist for years and she's spoiled me. Looking at my nails now, I can see a huge difference in technique: the layers (thickness) of acrylic are uneven from nail to nail to where my nails appear unnaturally bumpy and weird. There's also no solid apex on my nails, so when these grow out I know they're going to snap because they lack that support. Considering I was able to get into this place on a walk in basis, I'm not going to give 1 star, but I would never get my nails done here again given the option. I wish I would have toughed it out and waited until I got back home to get my nails fixed, instead of spending $42 (plus tip) for something I'm not happy with. --- 01/25 I'm back in town and had my normal manicurist redo my nails. She had to file quite a bit of the excess acrylic to make my nails look less thick and awkward. Look, everyone has their go-to place to get their nails done. It's hard to find a good manicurist that you like and that does a good job. Everyone has different things they want and their own personal preferences. Vy Nails wasn't for me, but it might be for you. All I'm saying is, based on what I'm used to having done- this was not the salon for me. read more

Ask for Kim!! Thats all you need to know..... basically. Kim is usually pretty gentle on your fingers and toes, once and a while shes a little rough, but for the most part she is gentle. She also is willing to do just about any design you can bring in. She is also good and coming up with designs and she is easy to talk to! I've been seeing her for over 10 years and I have tried others out there and there just isn't anyone as good or as nice as Kim. Pro: Kim will give you her number and let you text her about setting up appointments, which is very convenient for someone like me, I am a receptionist and get small breaks, so text works really well. Con: They like tips in Cash. They'll take tips through your card, but they prefer tips in cash, which is sometimes hard to remember. read more

I usually go to an amazing nail salon in Oro Valley but was in the neighborhood and decided to try this salon. Let me warn you to stay as far away as possible!!!! The guy who did my pedicure was so rough on the sides with the exfoliation that he cut me and made the side of my foot bleed. They put some antibacterial liquid on it but it stung like crazy. They did not even comp my pedicure. Needless to say I will NEVER go back. read more

Add a half a star. When one makes an appointment well in advance for 3 people who will have 5 services between them, wouldn't you expect 3 people to be on duty? This is a pet peeve with nail salons. So 2 people did start 2 of us on time while I sat for 30 minutes in ever increasingly cold water. In the end, I got only one service done as a result of the wait. Ok. So I saw this nail shop close to where I live. There is "walk in" availability. First time, I am greeted, freindly, told to pick a color, and a gentleman came out & got me started. Of note, they do not, repeat, do not have a good selection of paints, pretty lackluster actually. So I got my pedi, decent. Paid with debit card, cash tip. Polish chipped 1 week in. Second time in: I walk in, grumpily asked "Yes, can we help you"? I'd like a pedi please. At that moment the 3 women there started going off loudly in their language for like 10 minutes! I'm starting to walk out. she goes pick a color. Ok. I'm annoyed. One of them puts water on in tub says you soak 10 minutes I be right back. Ok. So again, lackluster colors, look old, I pick one climb in tub and wait. I get a pedi, no frills, no conversation. Time to pay, their machine will not work but oh no, loudly she asks "you have another card"? Uh, nope, it's your machine, it's showing on screen, not connecting. Perhaps Internet down? Did not appreciate the way she made it appear I had no money in my bank. So, ended up driving to ATM for $25 drive back go in a drop it off with a tip! Needless to say I was pissed. I've been going here off and on due to the terrible service I get sometimes. Well I ended up going around 6 one evening, because I didn't get off work until then. It ended up working because they were open till 7! So here I am thinking they have plenty of time to do a fantastic job. However no apparently she was in a rush, and didn't think doing her best was the way to go. I ended up telling her about one of my nails because it was so uneven. And then I come to see all the nails look like crap. I didn't say anything, I paid what I needed to. And of course did not tip. I will never go there again. It was awful. I went to Costco the other day and drive by this nail salon. After long shopping walk, I decide to stop by for a pedicure. The staff is super friendly, attentive and attention to detail. They give a great pedicure with callus removing included and finished with a good foot massage! I decided to ask for manicure with gel. They got a good selection of gel colors and normal nail polishes. I am a very picky person when it came to my nails. I walked in with skeptical thought and walked out with gorgeous, gorgeous nails. Absolutely love love this place! I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great job on nails that won't burn a hole in your wallet!! read more

New nail salon so i had to try. Now i already have a place where i get my nails done but i really needed a pedicure. So since this was across from my home and new i thought i would give it a try.. first only 2 nail techs there and i was quickly put into a spa chair and was told enjoy the water and massage. I guess this meant i would be waiting.. once i was finally being worked on the gentleman that did my nails started clipping away . After he was done he asked did i want shorter? I looked and saw he butchered my toes ! I told him too short but too late so what can be done. He offered me free nail design for his mistake. During this time i watched 4 people walk in for pedicures and like me placed everyone in spa chair not giving wait times. So i was given the quickest pedicure ever so he could move on to other clients. I was frustrated but at the same time just ready to leave.. sorry i will not be returning read more

I have been a customer of VN Nails for many years. I was told if you make an appointment, you would receive prompter service then if you walked into salon as a "Walk-In." This has not been the case. I have made appointments since I have been going to VN Nails and more often then not, still continue to wait. In fact, they will take walk ins during customer's with appointments and make the customer with the appointment wait while they service the walk in, or they will work on both the appointment customer and the walk in at the same time. This has been an issue with me for years with this salon. If a customer has an appointment, they should receive the nail techs FULL attention until the service is complete. Walk ins should be made to wait or schedule an appointment, not the other way around. A few weeks ago, I had a late morning appointment, but had completed another appointment early so decided to call and see if I could come a but earlier to have my nails and toes done. I was told to come at my appointment time because they had other appointments they were working on. I show up to my scheduled appointment only to find the same thing happen again. As Kim worked on my nails, she kept jumping up and down to assist every walk in that came through the door, while I was left to sit and wait. Finally, after 40 minutes of waiting with my feet shriveling up in the spa, I finally got up and said i was leaving. Kim immediately said she'd be right with me, but with an attitude. Almost 5 minutes after, she finally attended to my appointment. I was there for over 3 hours for an appointment that should have taken no more then 1.5 hours. Never was there an apology or any sort of remorse she left me sitting for almost an hour. I would think they would take care of their loyal customers with appointments first, but apparently they get as many in and out as they can, throwing appointments and customer service and loyalty out the window. After over 5 years, I will never set foot in there again, especially after the way I was treated, and with no apology! So if you have 3.5 hours to have your nails and toes done, this is the place for you. Expect to wait and wait even with an appointment. Seems like you would get quicker service as a walk in. read more
