When a neighbor in our new neighborhood mentioned that several nearby homes had experienced dryer vent fires, we decided to get professional help to clean out the 15 foot long vent pipe which had been installed by the home builders. We contacted Southern California Dryer Vent Cleaning and they set an appointment to come out the next day. They arrived on schedule, and gave me a quote before starting. In the course of the cleaning they consulted with me on another potential issue. The self closing flap on the original vent hood was no longer functioning. That would allow access to rodents and small animals, an issue they frequently encounter. So in addition to cleaning the vent pipe, they also replaced the vent hood with a metal vent door that latches closed magnetically, preventing entry from rodents. They kept me informed throughout the process; sent me photos showing me what was taking place. They finished on time and cleaned up the materials that were removed from the vent pipe. We were pleased with the outcome and now we notice that the dryer is drying better than before. I recommend this service. It makes your dryer more effective, and brings you peace of mind.
