Review of Vixen Plastic Surgery -- Please Read Before You Pay
I had a procedure done at Vixen Plastic Surgery last year and was genuinely pleased with both the process and the results. Because of that positive experience, I felt confident scheduling two additional procedures for 2025. Unfortunately, this time the experience was completely different -- and extremely frustrating.
I provided Vixen with the exact dates I needed for surgery, and they confirmed and accepted those dates. Based on their confirmation, I booked my flights and made all necessary arrangements. Only afterward did someone from their office call to tell me that the dates were actually unavailable. This last‑minute reversal was not only unprofessional but also financially damaging, as I had already paid for travel based on the dates they approved.
I paid for both procedures in full -- a little under $10,000 -- within the required 30‑day window. Payment, unsurprisingly, was the smoothest part of the entire process.
Once I began completing my pre‑op exams and sending in the required paperwork, everything became chaotic. Their office staff repeatedly claimed they did not receive documents that I faxed and emailed multiple times to every address I had on file. I would send full packets, and they would respond saying they were "missing page one" or some other page -- forcing me to resend the same paperwork over and over again. The level of disorganization and lack of accountability from the staff was extremely unprofessional and created unnecessary stress during an already sensitive process.
When my bloodwork showed a low INR, they informed me that I could not proceed unless the number improved. I spent the next several weeks paying out of pocket for daily bloodwork, trying to get my INR to the required level. The numbers stayed low, and ultimately Vixen canceled my procedures.
When I requested a refund, the situation became even more concerning. They told me I was canceling -- even though they were the ones who determined I could not proceed -- and that per their contract they would be keeping $1,500 per procedure plus a $500 non‑refundable deposit for each. In total, they intended to keep over $4,000 despite never performing a single procedure.
I explained repeatedly that I was not canceling; they canceled due to my INR levels. My bags were packed, my flights were booked, my recovery house was paid for, and my procedures were fully paid. I lost money on all of those arrangements because Vixen canceled my surgery, yet they showed no concern for the financial loss or the inconvenience. Instead, they treated me as if I was at fault.
It took eight days of constant follow‑up -- and I saved every text message -- just to get a partial refund. In the end, they still kept more than $4,000 without ever touching my body or providing the service I paid for.
Important Advice for Anyone Considering Vixen Plastic Surgery
Based on my experience, I strongly advise:
* Only pay the required deposit -- do NOT pay for the full procedure upfront.
* If possible, pay the remaining balance on the day of surgery.
* Be aware that if they cancel, you can lose thousands of dollars, even if you did everything correctly, completed all your tests, and were fully prepared.
* Do not rely on their scheduling promises -- even confirmed dates can be changed after you've already booked travel.
* Prepare for disorganized and unprofessional communication from the office staff.
I truly hope Vixen improves their communication, their paperwork process, and most importantly, their approach to fairness and patient care. My first experience with them was great, but this year's experience was deeply disappointing and financially damaging. read more
